have to concur with genecam 27 and the other posters who also rate nets as well ahead of the warriors by a good margin...scalabrine,its not totally fair to say"would nets go into warriors building and win a game 7 easily?" because as you well know home-court advantage in playoffs is absolutely massive and cannot be over-stated...we all know the historical winning % of home teams in playoff series game 7's(if it would come down to that)....but if we were to hypothetically say the series was on neutral ground i take nets all day and to flip it and give nets home-court im taking them all day and 1000 times on sunday.and even in a game 7 on the road i give nets a 50/50 shot with their veterans.of course it would have to be nba finals 4 this 2 happen which adds a whole new dimension playing 4 all the marbles so its most likely a moot point regardless as i dont see both these clubs getting there by any stretch of imagination....anyhow they(nets) are more complete and far better tailored to win playoff-style basketball....warriors would have a chance of course but it would be totally predicated on them getting super-hot shooting the ball obviously 4 a prolonged period...i dont believe in their defense in a playoff setting and i dont believe in their bench or coach at all in any way, shape or form.

its all neither here nor there in relation to this particular game and has no bearing or relevance of course but just wanted to add to the discussion

I can't believe you think GS is better.  Nets would win that series easily.  You are underestimating them big time.  They're the only team that can beat the Heat because of how well they match up. I give the Nets a 50% to beat the Heat.

Nets were 30-1 to win the East few weeks ago.  Down to 14-1.

To win the NBA championship few weeks ago 60-1 down to 33-1.

Somebody is making some damn good bets on this Nets group.  Those are about as dangerous a ticket as you can have in sports right now.

I hope you guys have a future Nets ticket because nobody causes more turnovers or has better ball movement.  If you like watching team basketball you should enjoy watching them.

Bogut or no Bogut...Lee or no lee...

Knicks beating the warriors in GS IS a big deal, not because they are now 'great' (they are quite bad) but because the Knicks simply do not win games like that and haven't all year, except for one instance:

They beat the spurs in San Antonio. That game was so uplifting and built up such confidence they won 5 of the next 6 including in Dallas and vs. the Suns. Both those teams could be a 3 seed in the east.

And if you think I see what I want to see why would I write 5 pages of supporting my argument when your counter-arguments are a few sentences.

If we debated in an auditorium most people would say "well he's done his research, knows this team and has convinced me". Would they say the same of you? Not given what you've offered here.

This guy Gene knows his Nets stuff inside out.  Not sure if he's a fan like me but I always want to hear his Nets thoughts.

Gene you better have a futures ticket.

Scal always a pleasure and wish you nothing but the best in general.

I thought he was a go. That is something the Knicks will have to overcome. Melo will have to take more of the load and so will stumper (ugh), end of story, get it or go home.

    They are better. We'll disagree.

And guys, come off the ledge....A FUTURES ticket on the nets?

Whatever the west puts out there, either the spurs or thunder, the nets have NO SHOT against. And that is assuming they could even get there (a BIG assumption).

Have them beat the bulls in the first round in Chicago first before we christen them with futures bets, a spot where they lost one of the worst games in franchise history.

Amare is fine and of course HAS to play. The Knicks know this. Load him up with cortisone right now. I had him with light knee soreness and it appears Woodson was so confident they'd win over the jazz he gave him a rest and recoup day and he'll be in today.

I have to say I HAVE to get this one. No excuses here. That rockets win sets this one up very nicely.

Although I would have preferred a loss to the jazz for the Knicks, it may have deflated them too much to be back what is three games with 7 to play, even if it is the Hawks (and now the Cavs are a worry too).

The last nets Knicks game on 4/15 may not matter as much, line may be outrageous, potential for rested starters, in dreaded Brooklyn where no one can win.

This is the game. The nets had a chance to put a stake in the Knicks hearts and did not do that in their first meeting of the year when the Knicks were on a 9 game losing streak.

That  gave them hope. Now even better, in a mini-revenge spot since the last nets win, the Knicks have the table set to catch the hawks. No slip-ups can be had.

If Pierce, a guy who blew up my nets picks twice this year (lakers and cavs and I know you remember the Jason Collins game because you were the one that pointed Pierce out) doesn't come out firing on all cylinders, the Knicks will wear the nets down and take it home. No 24 from PP and the Knicks will neutralize the other nets, outside of maybe Deron who I expect to perform. Without a line really, it is a perfect spot to take the Knicks.

I seriously had this at 4.5 Knicks given the b2b (and I thought the rockets game would be much tougher, but really the rockets are a different team without Beverly and Howard, much different so I'll excuse it). I couldn't tell you how pleased I was to see 2.5. Overjoyed. One hook later and it's only a straight up win we worry about for all intenets and purposes.

With their season on the line, it's a VERY tough sell for me to see the nets sinking this team on a b2b, in front of Phil, with the Knicks playoff life in the balance, with the first game since the Cavs at MSG...

A 3 or 4 seed is squat in comparison, no matter the talent.

You hit the nail on the head with the PP comment, Scal. Forget ball movement, matchups, length, etc... PP is the one guy who can swing this game in the Net's favor. I certainly hope the Knicks are mindful of him and don't allow him to go off. J kid limited his minutes last night, so he is obviously aware of this too. Had PP played 30 minutes or more we would be in great shape. The Nets are playing very well but this game today is about the will to win. Still, I must say, I was much more confident about the Knicks beating Indi for many reasons, not the least of which was Indiana's poor form. This game reminds me more of a sibling rivalry, with the Knicks being the older brother not wanting to lose to the younger one. I believe this game will be won at the free throw line. The knicks will have to attack the basket rather than settle for threes, because I think being home they will get the calls. Against Indiana they went to the line 29 times. In their loss to Brooklyn they got to the line 37 times (so they certainly got the calls) but they couldn't stop the Nets from scoring. If they up the defense and continue to attack the basket they'll be in good shape.

    A good site.

Only problem is they sit on lines and wait for the market to move them before opening them and sometimes don't release ML's otherwise I like them.

    No other problems whatsoever.

The pacers spot was a better spot no doubt. So much going on there that day and right now, the pacers can't even beat the Cavs

(Neither can the Knicks  But it is that loss that will put them over the top tonight in part).

I give you props for capping them.  Easily one of the hardest teams to figure out.

Don't know if I'm going to play this game but Good luck bud.

Capping and picking winners is tough.

If it wasn't wed all do this for a living (and the people that do do it will tell you it's too much stress).

That's all because these are tough lines with schizophrenic teams (minus the spurs).

It's VERY tough to lay two here given the nets play of late. But through the OP, I've determined it is the right play.

Don't underestimate the Knicks to drop another crucial one before year's end.

But the Nets at home in this spot? Thanks I'll lay the 2 every time.
