it seems poker players are getting the money rather than sports bettors. i'm sure there are a few people out there who make a living betting on games but the average bettor would never be wealthy from it

Nobody "came after" you.......started out as an innocent question: wondering how in the hell you and your girlfriend live off of $30K/yr....then you mentioned that you like to eat Gov't Cheese....and then everybody with any sense pile on....

    RAGING FETUS IS  A DEGENERATE.

And so is anyone else who expects working people to pay for their retirement, health care, prescription drug coverage, food stamps....

Pay your own way you slacker. This country is sinking because of people like you with an entitlement mentality.

Good at handicapping sports?  Great.  Make it a second income and stop taking money from people who get up at 7:00 am and to work for a living."

I dont take food stamps and i already addressed that i basically will have no retirement since i have no proveable income. I dont have any prescription drugs. I have insurance for emergencies. Please read the past posts if your gonna slam me.

To the people who believe me. I guess ty. i dont know what that matters. People who were here a decade ago know who I am and what my deal is. To the gentleman who put out the tax numbers. Your numbers seem correct excpet for the AZ tax number, but state tax is nothing so whatever. But yes Id have to file as a Pro since i have no other income. Then I would be hit with full gambling earnings. You can claim your losses and receive money back on them. the problem there lies that online sports betting is illegal and lets assume i get a check from the government back for my losses, it would soon be followed by another letter from the IRS saying I was illegally filing taxes. I only say that from experience. In the early 2000's after I did file legally, not only did I pay 31% federally that year, but it was followed by a later from the government that they were taking my passport away because i had an offshore bank acct in Antigua from winnings at Wsex.com after they got sued. since then i have let a good amount of money sit in this bank with no way to retrieve it, because I have to be there in person to withdraw it. everytime they have sent a check it has been declined by the bank here because the offshore bank uses a portal bank to get the money into the US, and that bank does not actually hold any funds. When the try a wire transfer, it is always declined and ive tried several banks and credit unions. So I get some measly state insurance followed by 10 negatives. No credit, no passport, no proveable income. Income that could be gone for a year if i have a bad year. So i really dont think im making out that well. Like the guy from Norway said. Anyone who would pay for health insurance is outta their mind. take mine away, fine, Ill go without any. Ill pay outta pocket for an emergency. My GF still qualifies though. Shes unemployed and has been looking for work, but she is in tourism and we have taken a big hit lately in that field.

And McAlpine, even if I worked a second job to appease you. Lets say 40 hrs a week as a bartender. Im still not gonna be able to get insurance through my job. BTW do you realize it takes about 50-60 hrs a week to cap sports full time. Where do i find this extra time from?

Can you give me any more details about taking your passport away?

I hadn't heard about anything like that before.  Were you charged with a crime?  Did you have an attorney argue the case?  On what grounds did they say they had the right to revoke the passport?

Wow, i did not expect it will flow like this, been busy beacuse of meetings and gatherings with some people.

I believe what RAGING_FETUS says, its too bold and direct to the point, if he will just make it up all....... But 65k a year from gambling, and you are consistent... thats really a great job,

700k plus you earn from gambling since 1998...?

that shocks me..... thats a deep discipline you got, and LUCK.

thats very difficult, by doing it every year, than having a 200k a year, and the next year is a downfall, not consistent..

but you, that consistent, you are bless if thats true..... or did i misinterpret it...

At least his projects have a good internet connection

There are alot of outspoken people on these forums. I have a hard time believing people are that outspoken outside of the internets.

To those wankstas rolling up on Hispanics in Scottsdale...one day you're going to find yourself rolling up on the wrong dudes. That day is going to suck. Keep going hard in Scottsdale though

Are you guys really going to cry about a gambler not paying taxes on his technically illegal income

Everyone can now continue to be tough and outspoken

Im done with the political part of this conversation. Its just Republicans screaming at Democrats, and Democrats feeling so pushed around that they fight back. But for you to say NO MATTER how good of a streak your on You will eventually LOSE is completely wrong. Alot of people, especially here, handicap for a living and do fairly well to real well depending on their bankroll.

I'm trying hard to bite my tongue on the political part of this discussion.  I definitely have opinions.  Raging_Fetus is right.  There really isn't any point in sharing them.  Its not like my party is going to win the next election because I convinced a thousand people with my logical argument on a gambling website.  I see these sorts of rants all the time.  I'm actually convinced they are counterproductive.  Do you really think moderate swing voters are going to change their votes because some guy says "Obama is a socialist that was secretly born in Kenya and raised as a Manchurian candidate"  If anything, these rants just emphasize the Democratic argument "Republicans are a bunch of right wing crazies that aren't to be trusted to look at things logically".  The louder you are, the more you turn off swing voters.  Democrats were never louder than the late 60s.  What exactly did that get them over the next 20 years?

Is it possible to be profitable long term sports gambling?

    Yes it is.  I am.

I am very curious about your passport issue.  I would really like to know the details.  I mean its possible you're a fraud but if you are and make up details, it will be obvious to me.  If you aren't, I'd like to know the story.

I do report my gambling winnings.  My biggest fear is that my refusal to commit one crime (income tax evasion) will implicate me in another crime (offshore gambling).  I am curious about the details of legal cases if an overzealous prosecutor ever decides to come at me.

tallyguyindc, I applied for a Passport about 7 years ago. I recieved a letter a few weeks later saying they need more information to prove my identity. They wanted copies of my high school diploma, college transcript. A letter from a friend and a family member confirming my identity and another birth certificate. So I sent it all. About 9 weeks later I received another letter saying I am being denied a passport at this time and can re apply in 3 years. Well I obviously looked into everything. I found out what happened was I requested a payout from an online Sportsbook via wire transfer to Wells Fargo bank. Wells Fargo declined the wire transfer because there was no funds in the account the wire transfer was from. The problem apparently was that the Bank in Antiqua the money was coming from used a portal bank in Hartford, CT to be able to get the money into the USA. The bank in Antiqua was not licensed by the World Bank or the WTO the World Trade Organization meaning they were not allowed to keep funds in any bank that is licensed by those groups. Anyway, the Portal bank in Hartford had an account that belonged to this bank from Antiqua but due to the federal regulations they were not allowed to actually keep money in the bank, they just take the money from the bank in Antiqua and then send it to a bank like Wells Fargo. The problem was when Wells Fargo called the bank in Hartford their was no money in the account, so they got the holder of the account and contacted them, them being the Bank in Antiqua. That is when the problem occurred. They saw I was trying to receive funds from a bad bank basically. They reported me to the United States treasury department, which in return sent the proper paperwork to State Department putting me on a list of people who were being declined passports. This was only about 18 months after 9/11, so they were being overly cautious, which I understand. Im guessing they looked at it as the money could have been being used to buy and finance things against the USA. Since I was using an unlicensed bank as well as it being off shore in the first place. BTW i have tried again in 2006 and 2009 to get my passport and have been denied both times.

Now ive only made 40k. Still not bad. But now I make too much too qualify for state insurance so Im force to buy a private policy, like cobra. So now im looking at what another 2k a year in insurance. So now im at 38k. Yea thats fair. When any other single person making 70k would pay a max 15k a year in taxes plus they would get a tax return. I would not get a tax return, because your are not able to get a return back from gambling earnings. So id pay double of someone who makes the same as me and on top of that he gets 8-10k back and I get 0. Hmmmm, yea if you were in my shoes, im sure you would do what you thing I should do. Im full of shit, lol.. About what? This place was soo much better when there was only a handful of people.

what the fuck does what you said have to do with you not paying for your own health insurance when you are making 85k a year?  Its one thing if you were unemployed and not making any money, then of course you should get some help, but your knocking down 85k a year that you arent paying one fuckin cent in taxes and you have the nerve to go get free healthcare.

Heres a fuckin thought, get off your lazy ass and go get a job.  Theres lots of jobs that provide health insurance, at least if your working somewhere then you can say you earned it.

Guys like you are the reason the country is fucked.  You have the money to pay, but you dont want to cause you can get it for free.

if you lose 70k this year gambling, you have the balls to ask if you deserve state insurance?  No you dumb fucker, you especially dont deserve no free insurance, considering you had 70k before you lost it to buy your own damn insurance.

Also quit your crying about insurance being expensive, when your making 85k a year and have 154k in the bank.  Lots of things in life are expensive, thats no reason to ask others to pay for you, when you are doing quite well.

But the programs are there for citizens to use. Im a citizen, i have every right to use them as you or anyone else. I was born here, im white as day. So dont play the Arizona race card.

if you lose 70k this year gambling, you have the balls to ask if you deserve state insurance?  No you dumb fucker, you especially dont deserve no free insurance, considering you had 70k before you lost it to buy your own damn insurance.

Also quit your crying about insurance being expensive, when your making 85k a year and have 154k in the bank.  Lots of things in life are expensive, thats no reason to ask others to pay for you, when you are doing quite well.

So the state of arizona taxpayers got to cover your ass, because you choose to spend your time gambling instead of actually working a job?  Your a complete joke.

You make more then enough money to buy your own insurance, but take the free route and in doing so somebody that actually has no money might not get the insurance because the program is filled up with stiffs like you.

If you dont want to go out in the world and work a real job, thats your choice but fuckin man up and pay your bills.

Im a complete joke because i believe in universal health care. lol. stop calling me names. its immature and does not add to your beliefs or your points. over 60 percent of the country believes in universal heatlh care...yes under 48 do not like the bill that was in congress. either of them but in AZ where we do have universal health care and is widely looked at as the perfect model for the US if we ever are going to have a public option is here and your damn right as im going to use it. As can a doctor, a garbageman or a restaurant manager. you do not want universal health care. ok, we got that. get out and vote and get congress and the oval office filled with republicans so it will never ever happen. Arizona's public option does not qualify you based on income, you qualify based on insurance oppurtunity. if your job does not offer insurance for you, then you qualify. my current job does not offer insurance, like what i do or not and i do not have time to go work another 40 hours a week somewhere just to say, hey i work somewhere that offers insurance. Even if Gambling was legal and I did claim my income, i would still file for the program. As would 99.9 percent of the country if their was a federal program and they were uninsured. But, you keep yelling and screaming and calling democrats names. its done the republicans really well so far.

    BULLSHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

Keep living in denial pal.  Face you make 85k a year and then want somebody else to pay for your health insurance.  This has nothing to do with universal health care, this is about you basically stealing insurance that somebody else could use that cant afford to buy it.  Pretty sure the program is setup to help people who dont have the funds to buy their own insurance, not pay for guys who are making 85k a year under the table.

also if you want to call gambling your job, then do like the rest of the damn pro gamblers do, file and pay their taxes.  Oh and another thing, dont hand us this bullshit you will get in trouble if you file taxes as gambling winnings, the IRS doesnt give a rats ass where you got the gambling winnings from, they just want to be paid.  On top of that you could say you won it a little bit at a time during the course of the year, going to the track and casino.

Like the other person said in this thread, you are way off on how much you would have to pay in taxes.  Face it you dont want to be official and pay the taxes.
