Baltimore Orioles -102
Tough not knowing the line ups, but I think I can assume no off days today, with a scheduled off day tomorrow for the Os. Baz has been their best starter over the last month for the Orioles, only giving up 7 ER over his last 5 starts. Now the birds are 1-4 over that time, with their offense to thank, but have they turned a corner??? They've scored 20 runs in their last three games. They scored 11 total in the seven games prior to that. Twins don't have an off day tomorrow, so could be a day off in the line up, but I don't think that matters. They have no one in the offense that puts a scare into anyone.
St. Louis Cardinals +144
It's hotter than hell in St. Louis right now, and Mattingly even said after last nights game, that they pulled Sanchez cause he was so damn tired from the heat. Now they have to play in the middle of the heat and I don't think we see Wheeler for a long outting, and the Phils have to jump on a plane to Minneapolis to play tomorrow, while the Cards get a day off before heading to Wrigley. While I don't think we see crazy line up changes for Philly, I do think at least one bopper will have the day off. Wheeler has been roughed up a couple times in his last few starts, and Leahy has been stellar as of late.

I have zero faith in the Giants offense to be able to do anything substantial. Houser has an ERA of 7 over his last 5 starts, and two guys in the Giants offense has ever faced Bryan King, and they are hitless in those 4 ABs. I just don't see how the Giants can stay in the ballgame.

The Pirates are freefalling and as expected, its cause they can't score. They've scored more than 4 just one time in their last 10 games, and been held to 2 or less in 6 of the remaining 9. I don't know where the offense comes from tonight. Like the Twins, I guess it could happen, but at this price, I'll back the better, more proven starter, and the obviously better offense, even with the deadline departures.

If you remember, last week I touched on Foster Griffin never having pitched this many innings in Japan, and he was running out of gas. Then he gave up 5 runs on 2 HR in 4 IP. I'm assuming the same tonight. He just doesn't have the arm endurance to pitch a full MLB season. Valdez does, and he's been great in his last 3 starts. The Guardians are also freefalling right now, and they are the third worst OPS in MLB vs lefties. Bad combo.
New York Yankees -1.5 +162
Until the Mariners figure out how to hit a baseball, I'm gonna fade 'em. It's been an embarrassing display as of late, and I aim to capitalize on it. Warren hasn't been bad either. Miller has been hit or miss. I'd love to take the under, but I can't in this park, but it shouldn't take much Yankee offense to cover this one. Very similar to last night.
Boston Red Sox -1.5 +132
Buying Boston low here. The four game skid has made them affordable again, and they have a lefty going vs this Jays offense that doesn't hit the southpaw. They are 5-0 in Suarez' last 5 starts, getting plenty of runs for him. It will be tough tonight vs Soriano, but the Jays pen is leaky and will keep the game within reach at all times.
Cincinnati Reds +132
Total fade of Luis Castillo. He hasn't been good all year, and his arm may have run out of gas, 1500+ innings could do that. No Vargas in the Sox line up either, so thats a plus. I'm taking a shot, but one I feel is worth taking.
