A 1-0 loss kept another sweep from happening. It was the worst thing that happened to me yesterday, so I'll take it.
Phillies/Orioles Over 8.5 +112
Wheeler has been incredible as a whole, but over his last 5 starts, his ERA is nearly 4.00, and he's only gone 5.1 IP on average. There is a small chance that there is a delay at some point today, which if that happens, the starters will likely be done. All that to say, even if Wheeler is great today, he may not be around for a long time, and the Phillies pen is garbage. Plus they used Alvarado and Duran yesterday. Bradish is mehhh, and the Phillies aren't sitting anyone today. Wind is also going to be blowing out to left, largest part of the ballpark, but it'll be double digits so decent help. Also, I bumped the number from 7.5 to 8.5 to get positive odds.
Nationals/Braves Over 9.5 +128
This is another bump to the number. At 8.5 its -122, so to gain .50 points for one more run feels like I can't pass it up. Especially with the Nats involved. Cavalli has been pretty good actually, but the Braves line up have seen him already this year, and they got all the heavy hitters in the line up, going for the 4 game sweep. The Nats bullpen is also completely unreliable. The Braves have called up JR Ritchie for this start. If he gets banged around a bit, which is very possible against this Nats line up, I think Weiss leaves him out there for a bit, since they've already won the first 3 of the series. Nats are averaging 10.5+ runs in games they play, and the Braves are at 8.5+. Picture perfect day in Atlanta with a little breeze out to left.
Cardinals/Blue Jays Over 9.5 +124
You're right. These offenses do suck ass. But the starting pitchers suck ass too, and the Cards bullpen (as we've seen over the last two days) REALLY sucks ass. I moved this number up from 8.5 to gain .50 points again. If they get to 9, they will get to 10. Also, Vegas has the under 8.5 @ plus money, and they know how bad these offenses are. I think they are telling us that this is a shootout.
Miami Marlins -114
Alcantara has been pretty damn good as of late if you take out his start against the Astros on 7/22. Which I will disregard, cause that offense is hummin right now. Sandy has given up 1 or less runs in 4 of his last 7 starts. Getting a TON of ground ball outs too which is when we know things are going well for him. The Mets turn to a rookie to fill a spot in the rotation today before the trade deadline. Marlins offense is vastly better than the Mets too, with Soto on the shelf. This feels a bit trappy cause the number is so affordable, but I'll bite.
