Could there be a bigger game today between 2 historic franchises?
What we know...
The Cubs took care of 2 divisional foes in their prior series. 2-1 vs Pitt, 3-1 vs the Cardinals. After today, they sit put and wait for the Dodgers to come in Monday.
They sit 6.5 games back of the Brewers in the NL Central.
The Yankees road trip started in Philly, winning that series 2-1. Then they flew to the south side where it looked like it could be an easy series win(possible sweep), when tragedy struck 2 games in a row losing 2 games in extra innings after a 2-0 jump on the sox.
They sit 1-1 vs the Cubs, tonight they fly home to face the Cardinals on Monday.
They sit 3.5 games behind the Rays in the AL East. And don't think that they, or the rest of the East sees the Red Sox running like a closer in a horse race.
Garrett Cole Vs Colin Rea
And the price is only -113 for the Yankees?
I'm seeing 66% of the bets and 68% of the $ on the Yankees.

This is my biggest bet today. More than anything else this is banking on Cole to spin a gem as he looks like his old self now again, and a fade of Rea who is not good. That said the Yankees lineup is absolutely putrid today, and Cubs have a huge edge in that department as well as being at Wrigley. Big bullpen advantage to the Yanks here, the Cubs used a few high leverage rms last night to secure the win. I think the wind does help the Yanks more. I put a sizable bet on this, prob more than i should have, but i think the Yanks is the play at this line...

Boone is a donkey. Had Headrick ready to face the lefty Happ with 2nd and 3rd and Cole gassed. No idea what he is thinking there. Brutal, and will likely pay now SMH. I don't know how he keeps his job year to year...

got outta the jam, but if you're gonna bring in Headrick to face Hoerner, why not one batter sooner vs the lefty Happ with Cole laboring in as high a leverage spot as it gets

Also, he has double barrel bullpen warming up and Brough in the lefty with four straight R handed batters coming up...instead of going with Blackburn and saing Headrick for an inning when PCA and Busch are due up...likely the 8th. I'm so baffled. I hope it works out, but Boone has my brain in a blender.

Now Blackburn comes in, with Tim Hill (LHP) warming up as well...to face PCA and Busch...two lefties. Boone Jesus...How do you not go L on L against Crow-Armstrong??
