You have huevos rancheros to fade Lackey and the Angels magical offense. I can see it at that price with a solid home dog, but I want no piece of going against the Angels until they return to earth (no pun intended). Also, Lackey looked as good as I have seen him all year in his last start - he has really found his curveball - sharp bite with pinpoint location. With you on the Nats (and +1.5) and the Yanks.
Yeah, I'd love to see the stats and thought process he used for the White Sox pick. Some of his picks are very interesting and have a good rate of success.

You know what? I don't know if I'm going to do that. If I fade the Angels and lose, I'm going to be bitter until the end of time, knowing that I backed these guys in all three games in Minnesota and watched them rake every pitcher the Twins threw out there. The Angels are devastating off of blowout wins, and they're off a blowout win here again tonight.

Undecided, but going against the Angels isn't feeling like a great idea. Just when you think these guys can't possibly unload on another team with 9 runs and 15 hits, they score 11 runs on 18 hits!

Hey Bator, let me ask you something about this Baltimore @ Detroit game. A lot of people were on the Tigers RL last night because of how highly priced the Tigers/Verlander ML was. Baltimore just got smoked the day before so bettors didn't hesitate to take the chance. The end result was people getting burned on the one victory.
Do you think that tonight's line is lower than yesterday because of what happened last night? In other words, perhaps the books are trying to get people to bite on the ML out of fear that Detroit might not be able to cover the -1.5 again? And for those who decide to bet the Tigers on the ML, the price is substantially lower than it was last night with an equally effective, dare I say better pitcher on the mound for Detroit.
You get what I'm sayin?

No action on Boston or Baltimore +1.5.

I don't think the oddsmakers count on such a dramatic overreaction from one day to the next in baseball. They count on an overreaction when a team has played extremely well or extremely poorly over a long stretch of games (like several weeks). Sometimes they seem slow to adjust lines in baseball.
As for the Baltimore/Detroit series, I think the average Monday night Detroit RL bettor wouldn't be scared off by the one-run win, but would instead think that Baltimore is very unlikely to cover +1.5 for a second straight night.

Bator - I checked this post and others and figured you had an itch for the O's tonight. Now I see you're off on them. Immediate reaction: Disappointed! I have no "juevos rancheros" and I threw a few bucks on them. Hope they pull it out - no Sherrill! I have a great deal of respect for your capping skills and have followed your picks for years. You do get very caught-up in emotional responses/reactions of teams and players. Not a bash, just an observation - it's interesting. You sit curbside w/ any? I honestly think that when it's a "job" the emotional side of 162 games isn't a major factor. Just an opinion. Looking forward to a profitable NFL season! Thanks for sharing.

You know, it's not that I decided right before the game that I didn't like the Orioles anymore. It's more a case of they got lost in the shuffle of the 14 other things I was trying do in the minutes before the 7 P.M. games got underway. Much regret there.
