Spence is absolutely settling in right now, which is annoying

Alvarez has been excellent through 3.

At this point, I’d expect him to start the 5th, probably around 60 pitches, but with a short leash

Spence is aggravating the shit out of me right now.

I didn’t play the first five, and I wanted 2

because he’s pitching way better than I expected. Washington finally got to him for a couple, but he’s not melting down the way i hoped.

Still like the position with Washington up, but this is exactly why baseball makes you want to punch drywall

By my pitch count, Alvarez should’ve at least started one more inning. He was around 60 pitches, had only given up one run, and looked like he still had something left.

Instead, they went to Brad Lord, he immediately gives up two runs,

Bases loaded, no outs, down 3-2 — this is the spot right here.

And they’re actually leaving Spence in. Washington has to make them pay for that decision. At minimum, tie the game. But this is the inning where the bats need to blow this thing open

4-3 Nationals, first and second, no outs.

Thank you, Spence, for finally chipping in a little bit. Now KC goes to the pen, and this new kid doesn’t exactly scare me. Washington needs to keep the pressure on and turn this into a real cushion
