I am really lost here. Just what do bettors consider important? In the Royals you have the S.T. leader in home runs, 2nd in OPS and a low 2.36 to 1 K/BB ratio. You have the experienced Duffy, with a start under his belt, versus the relatively inexperienced and unimpressive Newsome, yet the Royals are the dog. HFA is relatively worthless in S.T., but I would bet that "at home" the Royals would be at least -120, maybe -130. To top it off you have a hot team on a 3 game win streak versus a disaster on a 3 game losing streak.
Go figure.

Prescient insight on your part Barney. With Garcia on the hill for the Yankees, and no announced starter for the Braves, they are both drawing the bettors money. Folks have to be betting perception and nothing else. "Great teams, they gotta come around."

Snell vs Lynn, SD +105 
No lineups for either team announced and this line means split squad or something for SD today and the oddsmakers know this. Don't you think? No Machado, no Tatis jr, no Grisham giving the fellas a day off.... Maybe Cronenworth 1st

I looked at that game with a microscope Barney, the line is pretty close to what it should be imo. Gun to head I'd take the Rays, but not touching it.

The SD lineup is only slightly mediocre, not as bad as I thought. Came out about 15 mins ago. No line movement. CWS still not posted.

Umps can call for rain, sure and so can managers if they agree to baby their players from a little mist. The rules are loose early on. What most books are doing, especially since they are not offering totals is that all games are official if they are official on MLB.com - so technically a game goes 4 innings and would be official if MLB says it's a final and posts the score.

"Markets will be settled in accordance with official MLB results. This includes any differing rules for Spring Training such as shortened innings or 5 innings games. See mlb.com for more info."
