I don't know what it is but I have a problem with "Hunter Pence" and "over the top" in the same phrase. Might bring that up with my analyst.

With Hunter expected to hit .750, and Cueto on track for a 0.43 era, I don't see why the Giants aren't the odds on favorites to win it all.

If that happens I will kiss JEG's fat patootie on top of sac's beer truck at high noon in front of Wrigley Field and treat the regulars here to a steak dinner afterward.

oooooooooooooh, that's COLD man. JEG has not broken a truck scale in at least three years and the joint he works at no longer has to let him in through the truck dock overhead doors.

Your post was about 9 A.M. Chicago time. Why are you not at work? If your helper is carrying you, and earning your commission for you, it would seem to me you should be busy reinforcing the frame and suspension on your truck, to carry JEG's fat arse. What's next? Another fishing report?

My job is better than you or Jeg know. Prepare yourselves for increased jealousy. I'm off on Mondays. 4 day work weeks, and I've been averaging about 6.5 hours per day. And making more $ than ever.

Deliveries to restaurants and bars were a waste of time. Now folks are getting absolutely hammered at home. Imagine if you couldn't get away from your wife or kids all day, every day.

    Fishing report:

    Yesterday sucked.

    Last time before that sucked.

Weather patterns suck as usual for this time of the year. There hasn't been enough consecutive warm days to warm up the water. The fish are in a funk and holding to wintering patterns. It's almost frigin May and we are still in sweaters or hoodies.

Secondly, now that covid19 has wiped out jobs and such, people are fishing more than ever. Forest preserve parking lots are full lately. It could be that people are keeping fish to eat. I hope that's not the case because that will devastate populations in the smaller lakes.

Now I get it. Instead of dropping off 20 cases at 5 different bars/restaurants you just drop an extra 100 cases at a grocery/liquor store. That would be more efficient. So, as I see it, since the fishing is no good anyway, that gives you the 1.5 hours from work and many hours from fishing to shore up the truck. Get busy, no excuses.

Bachelors only do laundry once a month, unless they drop it off at a Chinese place.

Choir? Really? When this site gets through with you they will put you in Soprano section.

Snell, Glasnow, Morton are starters. Do the Rays bullpen it for the 4th and 5th spots this year? That's my only issue, one bullpen day is enough imo.

I'm still looking for Brendan McKay to fill a spot. And Brent Honeywell to make an appearance, nasty stuff but got derailed by tommy johns

No closer-starter this year sac, I think Chirinos and Yarbrough can carry the 4th and 5th slots and as you say, they have young talent on the way. And there is always the question if the Skankees can keep a rotation (or pen) healthy for two weeks at a time. jmho

Stanek thrived in the opener role buddy, but I don't think his other work was that impressive. He got accolades for opening in games Chirinos (3.85 era and 1.05 whip) and Yarbrough (4.02 era and 1.15 whip) went 5 and also had to pitch to the top of the order at least once. Until my sister died last August and I had stopped tracking it Chirinos was 15-6 for quality starts and Yarbrough 11-4 (I listed them as the starters even though Stanek opened). Even with an opener, they had to go 5 innings to qualify. Chances are good that the opener role was deemed not a high priority. If the Rays are correct they have an overall better 5 man starting rotation than the Yankees.

You're right key, Stanek's #'s are much more pedestrian in a "reliever" role.

His #'s as a "starter" aka opener were great

    "You're right key,"

That one gets framed and given a special niche in my trophy wall. I am even tempted to let you off the hook for that mysterious twelve pack that never showed up. Nah, I may look like I am ready for the last hurrah, but I ain't there yet, and dementia is not a problem. Regarding dementia, do NOT listen to JEG.
