Reagan was a good president sac. Not as good as his reputation, but better than average. In a sense he shared something with FDR and JFK. He was a guy that gave you hope and got you off your arse. Nixon and Ford hurt the country badly, and Jimmy Carter, although a lovable man and extremely honest, was not the guy to bring us back. His "schtick" worked, and that is one thing we needed at the time, inspiration.

Reagan definitely was a good president. I’m not that impressed with Biden, but a Biden/Cuomo ticket would probably put them over the top....To Sac:My PCP told me to stock up on my meds, so I bought twelve 30 packs.

Second thought: As bad as Trump continues to look, a Key/Log ticket would be a good bet.....

We have the Pollock vote locked up Log. That won't put us over the top, but I will be able carry 50 million or so Irishmen. We are closer than Trump thinks!

Also we had a long time tradition of going to Stations of the Cross on Good Friday and then meeting with my kids and grandkids for lunch and that couldn’t happen this year. First 9/11 and now this... what a world we’ve experienced.

Again Key, you're making perfect sense, especially about the experience part, but if you look at his base, your age demographic makes up a pretty big part of it, that's why I said I was glad you weren't one of them, and obviously anyone who uses logic and reason in his life, can't support such a horrible character.

Trump is the perfect marriage of incompetence and arrogance, he is the living embodiment of the Dunning-Kruger effect, he has no shame, no consciousness, I truly believe he is at least a sociopath. Well now, I appreciate Yao's post, but I don't know about that elder statesman stuff sac. I just wanted Yao to know that people of my generation are the same crowd that gave you the civil rights movement, Vietnam war protest, Medicare, Medicaid and a good many other liberal movements. At the time they were considered radical, but by today's standards essential. No group by age, sex, color or national origin can be assumed to be of a certain political bend. We may be tempted to group the young as "liberal" but where does that leave the Young Republicans, the third group of Tea Partiers, or all the Catholic and Evangelical youth beating the drums for more conservative moral views? We need to remember what ASSUME has been interprted to really mean. When we assume we make an ass.. out..of..you..and..me.

sac do you sell or just drive the beer truck and load up your spots?Reason I ask is though the drivers make good money in California,the Salemen if you want to call them that,make the easy bucks and with Commish can do real well and do no work,just write up the order based on what the stores bars restaurant or whoever they sell to.Now with your comment beer sales are up 55% last couple months which if your getting some type of % with increase that high you should be doing real well while the rest of us are starving,lol.I am really surprised that DJT kicked out the money he did for the working class,I am not making as much as when I was working but the #s are not bad at all,now with my Kids out of college I lose all the good college credits which gave me a few nice refunds,but now without that and the rest of the deductions he took away,I am sure the standard deduction is what I will end up with,he only gave us 10,000 to deduct and now with rates low there is no way I get over the 26,000 for standard deduction,but I did refinance last year so I have to run all the #s to see if I can pick up a few things to go with the 26,000.

Now Reagan,Having to put up with him in Key's Califutty for way to long and he did a few things as President that hurt Labor bad,he pretended to be a Union guy as being the President of the SAG but he did not want to pay dues plus they would not go after him for being a Commie,but he was a Union Busting POTUS and he was inducted into Labor's Hall of Fame and was a Republican at some point switching or I just thought he was a Demo.,he ran against Jimmy Carter who was trying to be a Man of God and treat people fairly as our POTUS,needless to say other Countries took advantage of his being nice and Terrorist were just starting and with Reagan Terrorist Acts went way up during Reagan 2 Terms and I have always wonder how much he was still kicking brain-wise or if he had already started his downhill path to Alzheimer as he announced it soon after leaving office.

That wasn't my issue JEG. My modem was shot and unfortunately Cox was able to jump start it for a few days before conceding the point and replacing the modem. Cable companies HATE providing service they can't bill you for. F**k 'em. 

That certainly was a lengthy comment you just posted, probably the longest ever. I know I told Yao Reagan was a good president. Note that I never said great, like the idiots that wanted to put him on Mt. Rushmore. He was the man needed at the time and served his purpose. Good news / bad news, just like most of the rest of us. 

Now (since we have nothing else to do) I will start another controversy. IF any president were to be added to Mt. Rushmore it would have to be FDR, probably our greatest president ever. The man did a remarkable job for eleven years through the great depression and WWII. The job itself eventually killed him. The good old U.S.A. has been the undisputed leader of the world for 76 years thanks largely to what he did and what he left behind. Early, rapid deployment of nuclear weapons has kept the peace and the Marshall Plan rebuilt Europe and kept another generation of devastated youth from rising to start another war. Japan is far better off for not having been able to surrender to Russia. Once Russian boots land on foreign soil they are very hard to get rid of. 

KEY,I am not sure how many here remember Carter,L-Cabin you and me might be it but with Iran holding our people and the rescue attempt that crashed a Hilo or 2,forget how many troops died,he was just not a good guy to be in the WH at that time of our History,Reagan crushed him but anyone would of beat up on Jimmy Carter,he was just not having a fun time as POTUS and was dogged every time he tried to do something,had his share of bad luck for sure.

In defense of Jimmy Carter (and I am not calling him a good president) I would say A) he inherited an economic mess from Nixon and Ford, and B) he was a victim of the military in that rescue attempt in Iran. The geniuses that planned that operation did not know how much trouble our choppers would have creating their own sand storms. That was the element that downed our choppers and made them inoperable. Military fiasco. The OPEC oil price inflation was more or less a sneak attack on the western world. We learned a tough lesson there, but noone saw it coming.
