If you think you are smarter than the previous generation, 50 years ago the owner's manual of a car showed how to adjust the valves.
Today, it warns you not to drink the contents of the battery.

An Italian sniffer dog was killed after eating sausages filled with nails that were thrown into his kennel. Bruno, a seven-year-old bloodhound, had been hailed as a hero for finding nine missing people during his career, and was once honoured by Italy's prime minister.
The dog's trainer, Arcangelo Caressa, said he knew who was responsible and vowed to make them pay for their actions.

I would kill a muthafucka.
I would kill a muthafucka.
This is what needs to happen to whoever did this

The report stated that Bruno had been instrumental in breaking up dog fighting rings & the owner believes this was retribution.
Some people are really fucked up. What kind of mind comes up with the thought to feed a dog nails?
Sick bastards!

Just heard this Johnny Bench/Mickey Mantle story.
As a kid growing up in Oklahoma, Bench idolized Mantle because Mickey was from Oklahoma as well. Bench figured if Mickey could make it to the big leagues from Oklahoma so could he.
They met at Bench's golf tournament in Tampa. Bench said he has a picture of his Dad pitching pennies with Mantle at the wall of a Ramada Inn. That night Mantle approached Bench & said "Hey John, let's go across the street & have a drink. The Marriott has a disco." Bench says sure & they go over to the Marriott.
There's a bouncer at the door of the club and he said to Bench "John you can go right inside but we already threw Mickey out three times tonight."

Now's the time of the year to contact a school in your community & find out what teachers need for the upcoming school year. You can even donate stuff from your home like staples, pads of paper, post it pads, binder clips, dry erase markers etc.
Give them a call. Spend 20 bucks at Office Depot or Costco wherever. Our teachers need help.

Absolutely! Because they certainly can't get help from the Department of Education.
Or the really White House.

During Covid, I kept receiving test kits that I never ordered. I saw charges on my Medicare statement & knew someone was ripping off the government. I called Medicare with all the info ..the company name, shipping address & told them the charges were bullshit. $212...$168 etc.
They said thanks for calling with the info so I asked what happens next? She told me they document the abuse & I'm like yeah so... you won't pay them right? Oh no sir, they have already been paid! Wait a minute....they've been paid? She told me eventually we address it. Oh, OK sure.
Today I read that one of the companies I reported for sending me this shit was busted in Sunrise, FL. They had submitted over 17 million in bullshit Covid test kit claims & got paid almost 10 million. The owner is charged with one count of healthcare fraud.
Good to see a little bit of justice & karma once in a while.

Just got back from a beautiful celebration.
A fellow vet that I fish with received his service dog after a 7 year wait. He lost both his legs in Afghanistan & has been spending the last month with Jet a male black Labrador. They were deemed a good match & he officially received Jet this morning.
It's a happy happy day!

So many fake service dogs out there. Insult to Vets who really need them and such a long process. Blacks labs are a loving breed. Silly. Derpy. Easy going. Low maintenance.

Stu, it costs thousands to train legitimate service dogs & people have taken advantage of society's fear of offending someone who comes on a plane with a fucking chicken or other animal as their service animals. Down here people come into the grocery stores with their "service "animals who end up peeing on the floor causing the store to cleanup a mess on Aisle 5.
Crazy!

A man was asked what he would do if someone broke into his home & attacked his family.
He said "I'd call 8-1-1."
You mean 9-1-1, right?
He replies "No 8-1-1 so I can find out where to dig the hole."
Makes sense to me.

Same here and in California. They're so emboldened that they rarely refer to them as service dogs even. It started with bar culture. People bringing dogs to the bar. The law is that if a bar sells food, dogs shouldn't be there. No one ever cared. My best friend's dog used to always come to the bar with us. From that, people just started making their own rules. Now seeing dogs in grocery stores is common, albeit illegal. What can you do? I'm a dog lover.
Back to service dogs. I have friends who train service dogs. It is expensive, and rigorous. You can tell these people's pets aren't real service dogs by their behavior. Service dogs have to pass strict protocols. They are highly trained. This is why you see the same breeds over and over again. I was at physical therapy today rehabbing an injury. This lady had a mini poodle with a leash and harness that said "service dog". You will never see a poodle service dog, and definitely not a mini. They're too neurotic. Maybe it was her emotional support animal. Maybe it was her family. He was definitely adorable but he wasn't a service dog.

Holy shit Freddie! I never knew this existed.
I read a number of the wishes from our Heroes & I couldn't decide which one to help fund. So this morning, the boss & I contributed to the general fund that will allow the organization to choose how the funds can be best utilized. Reading the wishes struck me as being so humble & family oriented requesting fantasyland trips that many of us take for granted. Then I looked at some of the great companies participating in this program & was blown away. The Yankees, Cowboys, MSG, hockey teams, college football games, circuses, concerts etc.
I sent this link to all my vet buddies & only 1 knew of its existence which is really really sad. Why this isn't advertised by the VA is mind boggling. So many vets are hesitant to ask for things because we've been trained to make do with whatever resources are available to us & be willing to carry water for others. That commitment doesn't end when a person leaves the service. It's our duty to continue this brotherhood like you have just done by sharing this information.
Freddie, I am sure this link will be sent to other vets & you should know that this will help answer the wishes of those currently serving as well as those like you that gave up years of your life to protect our country. There are a number of vets who visit these COVERS forums & hopefully they will also spread the word via the link you provided.
I don't want to get mushy here but God bless you Freddie!

If you currently receive a "paper" check from Social Security that will stop starting September 30, 2025 & you will get a notification via SS as to this change.
Instead, payments will be made electronically to either your checking or savings account. If you don't have either banking account, your money will be put on a Direct Express card.
In either case, you will have to enroll for direct deposit on ssa.gov/deposit. If you already have direct deposit no action is necessary on your part.
Don't waste time & do it now to avoid any delay in getting the money you earned.

Spirit Airlines Customer: "Why was the plane delayed an hour?"
Spirit Gate Agent: "The pilot saw a problem with one of the engines but it's OK now."
Spirit Customer: "Wow, you replace an engine in one hour?"
Spirit Gate Agent: "No, we replaced the pilot."
Happy traveling...

FAU (Florida Atlantic University) graduated 1,800 students this past week & many of them are worried about their job prospects. AI is replacing many white color functions & US based employers cut 62k jobs in July as opposed to 47k in 2024. The unnerving part is these cuts represent a 29% increase from June.
FORD CEO stated that AI will replace 50% of white color jobs. Intel plans to cut 25k jobs this year. Microsoft is cutting 4% of its workforce. The demographic being negatively impacted the most is college educated men aged 22 to 27 years of age.
For many, dreams of owning a home and raising families seems very distant right now.

We have a neighbor across the canal who has a problem kid. Hell, he's not a kid anymore since he's 21. He got arrested for doing 100 mph on a neighborhood road & it's not his 1st arrest.
So he received probation & 40 hours of Community Service but he doesn't want to do the work. His Dad has asked the judge if he could pay a fine in lieu of doing the community service. I didn't even know it's an option that could be considered. No doubt the Dad is a major part of the problem.
Turns out the judge may rule that a fine will help the community more than the half assed work the little shit would perform.
Go figure, huh?

Just learned you can buy out of your community service for $10 per hour or in this case $500 for his DUI. He's on probation for 6 months, license suspended for 6 months & reports to his probation officer for regular alcohol/drug testing.
We've seen this kid grow up from about 5 years old & his Mom use to beat the shit out of him. He shot a playmate in the face with a BB gun, shot an arrow at our hurricane shutters & ripped the canvas of a boat when casting a lure which cost $450 to repair & his parents denied his involvement even though the fishing line was traced to their dock. At the age of 14 he was ticket for speeding in a manatee slow zone.
Hope he turns his life around but being a betting man, I don't see that happening.
