How are we to believe this truth?

 

Look at Ephesians 2:8 and 9

It is impossible for any one to believe in the existence of GOD apart from GOD giving you faith to believe. We are all born spiritually dead. We can not See or Hear the truth of GOD existence without faith.

 

My pray for every one that I come in contact with is that GOD’S grace will be granted to you. That HE will give you faith to believe and then your eyes will be open so you can see, and your ears will be open so that you may hear.

 

Until the grace of GOD is given you can not believe because you are spiritually dead  


Why should we believe in the bible? Why not the Quran?

i guess eberyone copes in his/her own way.  they just accept it as an unnown without trying to sugarcoat it with fanciful stories, or they follow a religion that promises cupcakes and lollipops or they take prescription drugs or they ignore it or whatever.  whatever people who follow scientism do about that, i think theys hould be weary of relying on doctors and other medical professionals along the way.  unless they blow their knee out, then they should be fine.  

2020, does your god allow for other gods and goddesses that would have dominion over certain aspects of life?  that would subordinate your god in that area.  if so, your god's power is limited.  if not, can you explain your atheism in that regard because the gods and goddesses of water i referenced are the be all and end all in the area of water which is the most important substance on earth for humans.

Either you missed the point or l didn't express myself well. I was simply asking a question. The energy that is life is a scientific fact....l just called it a soul as that is the word l use for it. I was simply asking a question to see if you had an answer not to scare you. Why so defensive. I will accept a scientific answer if you have one, otherwise live and let live and dont try to sink the float in my boat.

with that logic, i don't pay any taxes.  with the knowledge that if i fail to pay my taxes, the IRS may very well come after me, i pay all of my taxes.  plus, although the government wastes a lot of it, some of it isn't wasted and it's the right thing to do.

You can believe the Bible and not the Quran because the Bible covers the beginning of time to the end of time as we know it.  I keep saying on here that it IS a history book.  A history book of the past, present, and future.  It is laid out what has come to pass and what is to come.  How do I know this, because Bible prophecy is unfolding before our eyes and has unfolded throughout time.  Many predictions have already happened.  If you dont know anything about the Bible then you cant know this.

The Bible has nothing about whether or not pets have souls and whether or not they go to Heaven, but there is no reason to believe that they won't.

For question #6 Im sure there had to be some type of devine intervention as that would be a tall order to handle alone.

People, believe it or not, I totally see why all non-believers think it's hokey and fictional sounding.  I have thought the same thing about certain parts of it.  That is, until the Holy Spirit convicted me and showed me the Truth.

Im not sure I follow #8


Question 9
In the new testament Jesus plainly explains that working on Sunday is ok if it is necessary to provide for you or your family.  Just dont do any unnecessary work. 

Question 10
It is not ok to cherry pick.  This is one area where ALL Christians fall short.  Because of humans sinful nature, I think it is impossible not to fall short here.

This is where is gets sticky. If hardcore funamentalists cannot explain something, then back to the 'divine intervention' or 'you wouldn't understand' arguaments.

If someone honestly believes that the Earth is 6,000 years old then you may as well rip up every geology, ecology, biology, astronomy and cosmology text book. And if someone thinks that Satan spoke through Eve because it said so in a book...well there really isn't any answer to that

so religiously speaking... explain a few things to me:

1. how old is the planet?
2. were dinosaurs real?  did they live along side humans?

4. did a snake talk to eve?

6. how hard is it to find both sexes of every animal on the planet?

8. If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father?  Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her? seriously?
9. if you work on sunday, should you be put to death?
10. is it ok to "cherry pick" from the bible, believe what you want or do you have to have complete faith in the whole enchilada?

There is NOTHING to explain whatsoever through these silly questions.

None of these questions has a thing to do with the PROFOUND and POWERFUL  truths in the BIble.

You either get it or you don't.  Keep the logic out of the equation, because there is nothing logical that really applies to this world.

Again...all of you disbelievers and doubters fail to understand and or comprehend that believers do NOT have to explain or justify ANYTHING at ALL to disbelievers.  They are given the GIFT of faith and understanding.....and for some reason you're not.

Dude, I totally understand what you are thinking.  As frustrating as it is, it is where the believers and non-believers separate, this part about "you wouldnt understand".  I never understood before, but now I do.  It isnt even explainable, it has to be experienced.  For someone to experience it there has to be a desire.  The Bible says seek and ye shall find.  Without desire, why would one seek?  Unfortunately the road is wide but the gate is narrow.  Satan is the ruler of earth and he is a master of making people blind to the Truth through many different avenues.

Eagle...seriously I do believe in God. I've also had 3 or 4 vivid spiritual experinces that were wonderful. But there are many ways to get to enlightenment, if that is what you are looking for. But to say there is only one way to get there - through Jesus and the Bible - is very narrow minded

 I BELIEVE because I COULDN'T NOT BELIEVE when I tried to apply logical doubt to my curiosities. I've had spiritual moments or synchronisities ever since I was a young boy. Maybe OUR conscious activity is the soul/spirit being holographed back to OUR source creator. There's a science involved,obviously,however;maybe we just don't have the so-called chip in our soft fleshed brain to piece this puzzle ALL together. Just,maybe.

So is Buddhism a mechanism that satan uses to keep people blinded from the truth? Religion can justify anything. Kill someone? Hey just confess your sins. I think its funny how all these bible thumping religious zealots have no problem with the murdering of innocent people in Iraq. I guess aggressive invasion resulting in the death of 100,000+  innocent civilians was just part of God's plan, huh?

Then why is your ilk so hell-bent on doing just that?

Keep your fantasy views on evolution out of science classrooms and keep them in the context of a humanities / comparitive religious study classes and everyone will be happy.

I certainly don't think that people of sane mind want violence on a grand scale. However; as acknowledged children of their GOD they try to be GODLY, in their political decision making.People do have a right to defend themselves,right? Religious semantics seem to follow though when policy is injected as source of action. War,war what is it good for? I hear ya,silk. If you were POTUS,how would you deal?
