I really dont think anyone would really put 500 down on that many teams. But good job if its true. I happen to agree that its a setup of epic proportions

This is my first post here. A buddy told me about this site. I check out the % picks. . .I just noticed that there was a forum. I clicked this thread, read it from pages 1-4. . .and wow.
I have been betting on sports for around 7 years or so. The closest I have ever gotten was Feb 5, 2007 I had a 7 team basketball parlay 400 to win around 55,000. 6 pointspreads and 1 pretty big dog(around +250 or +300 I think it was GS@Indiana). 1 team lost. I had the Nets +1 they lost by 2 in OT. It would have ended perfetly with the Kings -5.5 winning by 6. The reason why I bet so big on such a longshot is I had turning 100 into around 8grand. . .which of course reached 0 before it reached 150g or 1million. Which is what I'd like to warn you about. Also to note, a few weeks later I bet 5,000 on the Spurs -2@Orlando(very stupid bet not just because the money, but I had a 2 team teaser spurs and dallas were both like -6 then I took 'em on a 4point teaser so they were -2. moneyline actually would have paid better and I wouldn't have to win by 3!). Anyways, Spurs led by 16 at one point(Dallas already won) but Spurs lost at the buzzer on what ended up being nba play of the year Dwight Howard catching an inbounds lob from halfcourt BAM! Anyways, enough of my sports wagering stories. . .
I'd like to congratulate you for the win. But, I have a feeling you are in a very dangerous situation here. I'm sure you have lost your ass before you won the 150g. Say for example you were down 20grand in your sports betting life. You are up now. But if you keep on like this for the rest of your life you will lose it all. You got lucky(not saying you didn't make good picks, but you can only expect to hit around 55-60% of the 50-50 chance bets). I'm not as impressed with this lucky hit as I would be with someone who has a system where they bet something like 2% of their pot each game and hope to win around 55-60%. Parlays are OK, but to put all your money on a 10 team big dog? Stupid. If you keep this up, you will lose your ass.
Bottom line_ realize that this is not a recipe to success it was a lucky shot. You do 300 of those bets($500 10 teamers) that 150grand will be gone. Chances are it'll be gone. . .but I advise you let it last 10 years of betting rather than 2 months. Be careful.

In the meantime... I'd always thought what I would do if I hit a really big parlay like this. The biggest thing I've ever hit was a $100 Pleaser for six teams at WSEX which paid me a sweet $30,000.00 for my selections in 2006. Got it in 3 checks for $9,500.00 each and played the rest along with the winnings from the back-up parlay with the same selection as the pleaser. Great thing is that I won the $30,000.00 while on a cruiseship so I took out 4 grand from my credit card and hit the casino where I won $12,500.00 on a $5.00 slot machine that hit Triple Diamonds.
I told my wife that if I hit a monster parlay from a sportsbook that I'd probably get on a plane and fly there to pick up my check from them for the entire amount won.
Has anyone ever seen in a books rule that they won't allow a person to collect a check that big in person?
If Lou or anyone else could answer this I'd appreciate that.
