Lets assume you are right and there is a creator.
How are you so sure that YOUR creator is the RIGHT creator? There are say 5k gods out there, under the penalty of everlasting torture, how are you sure that yours is the right one? What if some obscure god #3,429 is the right god and you just havent heard about him yet?
Eternal torture sounds horrible. What if you made the wrong pick?

Am gonna make the same post in all the religion posts i see.
It doesnt matter to me if you believe in God or dont believe in God, thats a persons own choice.
Heres the thing nobody on this entire planet can prove there is a God and nobody on this planet can prove there isnt a God, thats a 100 percent fact. Any proof you or anybody has that there is no God, is basically another humans opinion and nothing more.
We can argue about this until the cows come home but the fact is noboy can prove one way or the other, its just impossible to do.
Now me personally, i believe theres a God because when i look around everywhere, i say to myself there is no way that everything could have been created from one single cell, fuckin impossible. Things are way to complicated. And we didnt evolve, because if we did there would be walking and talking aligators by now in the world.
Now as far as religion itself, i think thats a total farce and people just use that to control people, but that still doesnt take away the chance that there is God

Give me one prophecy that was fulfilled that is specific. Not vague retrofit bullshit, just one prediction that is specific. This is god we are talking about, he should easily be able to say that the Saints were going to win the SB last year.

My theory is that your life experience, combined with the chemistry in your brain, determine whether you like chocolate or vanilla or a certain painting. But I dont know that for sure.
I have said throughout this thread that science doesnt explain everything. But the difference is that you cant say I dont know. You need an answer now to everything you dont understand, and you fill that gap with god. You are sure the answer is god, because you cant say I dont know.

That answer gave me a great insight into why u believe what u do.
1. Everyone thought the earthe was flat, the bible clearly states that the earth is in the shape of a sphere
2. Everyone thought that the bible rested on 3 large tourteses, the bible clearly states that he rests the earth on nothing
3. Everyone thought that the number of stars could be counted, the bible clearly states that there are that many, they cannot be counted.
4. The bible talks about the natural springs of the ocean, no one knew about those till modern science.
NOW, they are only 4, they could NOT have been known without modern science, hence the general belief of people at the time. I am not even mentioning wars, natural distaters etc. There are plenty more which u should discover,
The bible has what 40 authors and the views of all the auhtors on ALL controversial subjects are 100% consistent. These authors spread over 3 countriues. What are the chances? heck, we bring up a controversial topic such as abortion and we all have different views, what are the chances of all the authors having the same views on these if it werent for God speaking through man?
Secondly, you are saying, why doesnt it say there will be an earth quake in 2011 etc etc, now you are putting yourself in Gods shoes and stating what you would DO if you were God.
IMO, that is a big reason why people dont believe in God, cause if they were God, things would be different.

The guy said 500 specific prophecies from the bible have been fulfilled. He states that this alone is proof of the bibles authenticity. I dont think you can minimize the validity of those prophecies while at the same time hold that as the proof that the bible is the inspired word of god.
