I always struggled with this too! I always argued that William Wallace went through more however it is not the pain and way of death that is the sacrifice but more so that Christ could have just beat away those people if he wanted but let it happen.

The whole catholic church is so messed up. Please don't ever use them as a Christ believing example because in most cases they couldn't be more against the bible.

The story of Christ is not a story but mere documented fact. If you don't even know this or can acknowledge it then you are way off base. Poncious pilot ordered the death and the records clearly have him as well as the other two being crucified. Where your "story" of christ begins is after when the people were saying what happened along with people that saw and spoke with him while alive.

That is up for debate not the fact that Christ was a person from Nazareth who was crucified by the Jewish church for claiming to be the son of god. If you don't believe he is the son of god I completely uinderstand but please don't question that this person lived and wasn't crucifed by the jewish church. Documented bud and please don't say where or how. I guess all the eyptian script is off too which happened years and years before jesus' coming?

vanzack - to you this may concern, in the matter of the bible + its claim to be the final authority + the inspiration from the grand designer behind the universe.

an orphan new born permanently bereaved of his or her parents, bereft through death or disappearance of, abandonment or desertion by, or separation or loss from, both parents, has faith once grown that their birth parents did exist + through birth records can reveal their unknown identity.

in the search for a father in heaven, it should be found in the record of god, and not from the words of man. so, man needs to be removed from the question, in the begining there was god, but where is the evidence of god?

christianity then needs to be stripped of  "man" like in that of the latter question. catholics abstain from eating fish on all days except fridays. wether they realize it or not, they are practicing the ancient pagan rite of worshipping dagon.

the two-horned mitre, which the pope wears, when he sits on the high altar at rome + receives the adoration of the cardinals, is the very mitre worn by the priests of dagon, the fish-god of the philistines + babylonians days.

so, we need to strip the church of its pagan symbols, clothing, church building + temples, icon worship, prayer posture + words e.c.t. because even the global symbols of christianity, the cross + the fish symbols has evolved from pagan roots.

for god said, wear loyalty around the neck, not a false graven idol image of a crucified jesus or cross. christians believe that man is made in the image of god, though, want to serve him in the their own image.

for as gandhi said; "i like your christ, i dont like your christians. your christians are so unlike your christ."

in thessalonians 5:2 it states that "the day of the lord so cometh as a theif in the night" to describe the second coming.

though, jesus said that people would able to predict the weather but not interpret the signs of the time.

so even though the hour be unknown to man for the carpenters return, certain events are required to be in place before the second coming. hence, jesus wont return before the person temple is returned to their control. the latter not before the arrival of the anti-christ. all prior, must pass before the tribulation are upon man kind e.c.t

Coincidences are when events happen by chance.

synchronicity is a connection of two or more psychological/ psychic phenomena without causation. it's experiencing two or more events that are causally unrelated happening together in a seemingly meaningful manner + unlikely to occur together by chance.

could the ultimate evidence for the existence for the god of the christian faith be found in the monitoring of bible prophecy to come?

could the gospels strict order for world events to come be the persuasive inducement that atheists question instead of faith based christians for evidence. if the scriptures contain the words of a omnipotent god, those words should be able to answer any question a man asketh it, even that of evidence for existence.

so, is the evidence for this generation best refined from the revelations of the christians god?

the mystery of noah's ark was the only question asked of myself in the thread. but was it a question? or rhetorical atheism from the bluffers guide to debunking christianity. this is not an easy story to swallow, but when i referenced the gospel it exposes the question as exploiting christianity.

as the question gets transformed to: explain how can an unknown number of animals can be transported on a boat of unknown size, with the live stock cargo listed as two of every kind, not species. + the ark would not have required aquariums.

this question now is transformed a third time into the comment by the atheist, "you cant prove i'm wrong if you cant prove you are right."

in my opinion on the matter, the stalemate question is best answered by a team of three people. a naval or marine architect shipwright + two biologist (1 zoologist) for a educated assessment.

the bible was authored under egyptian, babylonian, roman rule e.c.t and never did include their customs. history proves jesus is not the jewish horus.

maybe for the atheist of todays generation that demands proof of existence of the christian god, is better served not looking to the past, but that of the future. because evidence will only be graded as proof by this generation in the form of a sign.

one has to give the christians bible credit that their god explains why his invisible hand hasnt delivered world peace + the reason for the all the sorrow + the unjust. one may not evaluate the conditions to be fair, but that doesnt disprove a christian god, who never claimed to be fair, but right.

jesus himself said in mathew 10:34 "think not that i have come to send peace on earth: i came not to send peace, but a sword."

though on the lighter side of christianity, in mark 14:62 jesus said

"i am: and ye shall see the son of man sitting on the right hand of power + coming in the clouds of heaven."

so, at least we know what side of politics the he represents....

vanzack - to you this may concern, in the matter of the bible + its claim to be the final authority + the inspiration from the grand designer behind the universe.

an orphan new born permanently bereaved of his or her parents, bereft through death or disappearance of, abandonment or desertion by, or separation or loss from, both parents, has faith once grown that their birth parents did exist + through birth records can reveal their unknown identity.

in the search for a father in heaven, it should be found in the record of god, and not from the words of man. so, man needs to be removed from the question, in the begining there was god, but where is the evidence of god?

I distinguished this very simply Rostos, and, may I add, indisputably. The only way my belief in how the universe came about can be proven is by human beings figuring out through science or aliens appearing and telling us. The only way your belief in how the universe came about can be proven is if god or someone who works for him shows up and says so. We, as humans, are helpless to figure it out ourselves. Whereas in my belief, it is theoretically possible for us to figure it out. That is the distinct difference. It is not even theoretically possible for us to prove that god created the universe, only god himself can do that.

In death, all the answers will be revealed. That is the truest thing you've said. Unfortunately, I won't be able to know the answers because I'll be, well, dead.

I will be praying for all you degenerates that dont take the word of the lord seriously for you will all pay for your ignorance once you pass away and then you will see there really is a god and he is the almighty. This is truly sad to see all you people on here not taking GOD seriously for one day you will wish you did right and believed in the only thing worth believing in.  And yes vanzack there is a holy ghost, being the son of a pastor I have been raised in church my whole life and personally witnessed people be slain by the holy ghost and it is real GOD is real, good luck with your life, all i gotta say is I will be praying for the good lord to show you a light and help you realize just how real he really is.

And we will think for you. Your witnessing people being slain by the 'holy ghost" does nothing for us...
By the way, I highly doubt you have What does the holy ghost look like?

By the way, why would "god" give us the ability to think and question, which takes us away from "him", and then punish us for it Your "god" is an ass...

I thought your god was forgiving?  He's gonna send me to hell for being intelligent and logical?  That's not fair...

Religion is a lot like Harry Potter.  It sounds really cool, but everyone knows it's just bullshit...

Let me ask you this...  Do you think things happen for a reason??

Man does have the ability to think, a gift from God.

But mans biggest downfall is his pride.

Unfortunately man wants to be his own God.

Man does not want to be told what is right, wrong, what to do.

This is how one seperates himself from God.

Says youI'm sure if their was a god, his main concern would be that people did what he said and worshipped him Sounds more like a human trait Oh wait, I forgot, man created god and the bible...

I'm sorry dude. Don't make fun of him, please. Be nice. This dude has been brainwashed his entire life. It's not his fault. And now he's been condemned to a life filled with wasted time and effort towards an imaginary nothingness. It really is a shame to completely waste a life like that. Your father should be ashamed of himself.

I have the ability to think, a gift humans didn't used to have. Over thousands of years, we developed it.

Man's biggest downfall is his pride.

    Man is his own god.

Man does not want to be told what is right or wrong, but fortunately for society's sake, we have government and laws to do that.

Man can directly interact with other men (and technically, animals), and therefore has no logical reason to think there exists anything he cannot interact with, this is how man separates himself from god.

I have the ability to think, a gift humans didn't used to have. Over thousands of years, we developed it.

Man's biggest downfall is his pride.

    Man is his own god.

Man does not want to be told what is right or wrong, but fortunately for society's sake, we have government and laws to do that.

Man can directly interact with other men (and technically, animals), and therefore has no logical reason to think there exists anything he cannot interact with, this is how man separates himself from god.

vanzack - the following is a response to your question - why doesnt god heal the lame, though, praised as answering the prayers of cancer patients in circumstances of recovery.

if god intervenes with cancer patients to remove cancerous tumors, then god should also intervene with amputees to regenerate lost limbs, right?

in the condition of cancer, what is viewed as the mercy of god's divine intervention would have to be considered in most cases placebo prayers where perceived or actual improvement in a medical condition is a result of a phenomenon commonly called the placebo effect.

jesus said "for verily i say unto you, that whoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt it in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatever he said." (mark 11:23)

"because of your unbelief; for verily i say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain , remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove ; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." (matthew 17:20)

though, this is not a generation who serve in great faith, but use church as more of a fast food drive-thru service to consuming the word of god into their lifestyle.

before looking at "amputees" lets raise the question, as the condition of loss of limbs are not vital to survival.

children are the most visible victims of undernutrition. children who are poorly nourished suffer up to 160 days of illness each year. poor nutrition plays a role in at least half of the 10.9 million child deaths each year.

undernutrition magnifies the effect of every disease, including measles + malaria. malnutrition can also be caused by diseases, such as the diseases that cause diarrhea, by reducing the body's ability to convert food into usable nutrients.

access to food in the third world is a privilege, not a right. so, what does jesus say unto to hungry.

jesus said; "it is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of god." (matthew 4:4)

"whoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. (luke 17:33)

the question of amputees has a variety of answers depending on who's name the question is asked in.

in context to which you have done, i will reference jesus; "an evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet jonas." (matthew 12:39)

    to translate a clear understanding why the lame are not targeted by the invisible hand of god can be found in three passages quoting jesus;

    - "if the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you." (john 15:18)

    - "can ye drink of the cup that i drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that i am baptised with." (matthew 10:39).

    - "then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake: (matthew 24:9)

so, if it is the teachings of jesus that state to see the father, one must go through the son, who was subject to brutal treatment + hostile conditions, no one man can expect to walk in paradise in this world. what is important to man, is not to god.

jesus said unto his disciples, "if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me." (matthew 16:24)

not wear a gold chain with a pagan cross + expect to avoid walking in any of life's affliction.

the god of the christians is misinterpreted as begging to be recognised. this is a god with patience, not tolerance. a christian who questions god on the subject in matter would breaking the order of "thou shalt not tempt the lord thy god." (matthew 4:7)

that is how i read into the question...

kit-kat - a comment to your question on pg - #23, post - #555 on a believers thoughts on the day after death. with keeping this in the context of christianity, the gospel doesnt house a single pocket with a pitch for purchasing eternal real estate in the kingdom of heaven. though like sets of waves, details wash up in segregated verses.

it outlines the events for the after life upon the passing of an infant, that of an isolated tribe per say that never knew the creators name, and the grey area of an adolf hitler if he repented on his final day. from lucifers exit to the last rectitude individuals entrance.

though, the scriptures dont promise the feeling of bliss euphoria for even christians who enter the kingdom of god, speaking that even some who's names are written in the book of life will feel disappointment.

anyone who were seeking evidence for intelligent design from this thread, they could do no better than be directed to post #673.
