If any of you don't like obamacare, there is one thing you can do to change it...vote republican this fall across the board.

When we get a republican president, and majority in the house and senate obamacare will be repealed.

The Obama Care plan isn't fixing anything, it sucks. I know our current healthcare system blows and everything about it sucks, but this is no fix - it's only making matters worse.

Best bet - if you need ANY type of expensive medical procedure FLY to Germany. You can schedule everything over the internet, fly over and receive the procedure then fly back. Cheaper and more efficient and performed by better overall technical doctors. Everyone is onto this now a days, especially athletes. Kobe Bryant wouldn't let an American doctor touch him, he travels to Germany for everything.

SJD-Good to see you again but on this subject you are way off. This was a Republican idea put forth by the Heritage Foundation in the 80's remember them (very conservative) Most Republicans loved the idea then. But now as we have witnessed even Ronald Reagan by today's standards would be labeled a Liberal because the Republicans have completely jumped off the cliff when it comes to putting the country first. Not that the Democrats are much better. Our system is corrupt. This election is about who has the most money to buy the Presidency. Romney/Obama same guy just wearing different suites. That's the way the powers that be have set this up and now we have people arguing against their own self interests in the name of who? The Insurance and medical industries. There is simply no reason for any sane person to say that this current system works when the whole world has resolved this issue except us. The taxes we will pay are far less than the hundreds of thousands you will pay when catastrophe hits your house in the form of illness or accident. Why should people lose their homes and life savings because they can't pay a medical bill. I think that's Un American and I call it slavery to the medical industry. Slavery needs to end. This bill is only a crumb. Americans need the whole buffet just like everybody else.

I actually like Ron Paul's ideas but he is too much of an isolationist for my taste. We fought 2 World Wars behind that philosophy. We can't turn our backs on the world and wish it all away. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. That's the price of being a world power. We're not Switzerland.

Here's a thought. Let's end Corporate Welfare. We pay more in Corporate Welfare than any other entitlement except Social Security. End Corporate Welfare. Tax the hell out of all companies that ship our jobs overseas to Mexico, India, Vietnam and other countries. Give tax benefits to companies that hire Americans to offset the higher cost. That way we pay for the healthcare of our people. Over the long term people become healthier more productive without the stress of worrying about bogus medical bills where a night stay in the hospital is $15,000. That's freaking insane and defend this madness? Flat Tax end of Corporate Welfare and that solves the cost problem. Take the money out of medical field. You want to be a Doctor? Great you will be paid very well but the days of gouging Americans for profit for your shareholders should end for the medical field.

Personally, I am not well enough read on the entire Obamacare bill to debate the minute details of tax rates, coverage or possible tax liabilities......and I don't have to be.....

The US federal government is forcing individual citizens to do something (purchase healthcare coverage) or be subject to penalty. Issuing a "directive", such as this,undermines freedom of choice that has been the backbone of the US culture for 200+ years.

The healthcare debate is not at all about helping the poor get treatment...it is about the government being present in every decision that you make in your life.

If the Feds are indeed present in every decision that you and I make in our lives, then they can influence those decisions to a specific end.

The Soviets attempted to create a socialist utopia, where all were equal, and everyone was taken care of..... the result was hardship for all whom were not part of the government.

It is dissapointing that more Americans are not currently capable of recognizing the very real perils associated with large governments. It is a very real prospect, that through the implemenation of specific "directives" from the Federal Government, we are on our way to an ultimate consolidation of national power exclusively at the federal level. Essentially, an ultimate end to individualism and personal freedom as we know it.

1,231 companies received waivers from the law’s restrictions on annual benefit caps. 50% of the workers exempted belong to unions.

If Obamacare is so great, why did this happen?

Smooth, have you noticed that no one is attacking Switzerland? Have you noticed Switzerland isn't hated by most of the world because of their imperialistic ideals?

Paul is right when he says that other countries don't hate us because we're free and prosperous. They hate us because we have set up shop in so many parts of the world. We try to force our way of life on to others. We go into other countries and take their resources while corrupting their governments and ways of life.

I'm not saying if we left these places and let these people be that there would be instant peace. But it has to start somewhere.

I honestly can't blame citizens of other nations for hating us. I would probably be upset to if Iran or North Korea were to suddenly open a military installation in every country surrounding ours.

One of the things most of us Americans don't like about obamacare is that we don't like the idea of the government forcing us to buy something...I mean what's next for them? I just don't like this setting a precedent for the next thing to come.

While the Affordable Care Act may not be the absolute best solution it's the only game in town. Over the weekend when the Republican "talking heads" were making the rounds on the Sunday Morning news shows promising to repeal The Affordable Care Act they were asked a simple question." What would you replace it with ?" Mitch McConnell, John Boehner and Mitt Romney couldn't begin to answer the question.

How can these self described know it all's believe people are so foolish that they'll buy the rhetoric but not expect a constructive alternative?

This Act brings 30 MILLION people into the fold. It takes healthcare out of the hands of the insurance companies and puts it into the hands of the American citizen.

If a country that's 17 trillion dollars in debt is ever going to pay it down to do so we must get control over an industry (healthcare) that currently consumes 17% of GDP and will consume 22% of GDP in the next 5 years. At that rate there simply won't be money left for anything else!!!

All the people arguing that "the free market" system is the only way to go fail to see the trick box this system has put us in today. When the largest employers of Americans (Walmart, Mc Donalds, etc) all pay near minimum wage, how's that lend itself to having the resources to make ends meet? 1% of the population has 90% of the nations wealth and that's OK?

It's time that either the average American be treated with the dignity and respect we deserve or we should take it!!!

Im sure thats what God is saying. "Lets keep taxes down on everyone at the expense of the poor living and dying."

So ridiculous. Dear God - Please help me save some money. I know that people with pre-existing conditions cant get insurance, and lots of other people are squeezed out too - but I need to pay less taxes - and I know you are on board!! Who cares if people die, I need more money!!

"Coverage" is NOT care. Obama doesn't care aka obamaTAX is nothing but rationing. Sarah Palin was and is bang on (on) this topic.
(Then again, I'm sure most of the poorly informed, half literate schlubs on the left are far better informed on the matter).

Good luck if you think the DMV provides good service and the IRS is compassionate and a pleasure to deal with. A lot of guys on this forum need gov'ment to wipe their ass I suppose.

This entire thing could be resolved real easily for both parties and everybody, If you choose to buy insurancee you can go to the Doctors on your plan. If you choose to not buy insurance have money you can see any doctor you choose and pay cash out of pocket. If you choose to let the governtment be reposible for your own health care then the government needs to set up health care provided by people who became doctors via affirmative action. Win Win for everyone.

Plus it is not Obama Care it is the affordable care act oh wait i meant it called Obama Dont Care
