Would they also have let a kid burn in that fire? Oooooooooooh, that would be different, ay?
I don't give a flying fuck about the politics and horseshit surrounding it. I don't give a fuck about who paid the fee and who didn't. I don't give a fuck about the bullshit "he has three kids to feed and can't afford to defy orders" spin.
PUT OUT THE COCKSUCKING FIRE.
I don't give a shit about anyone elses fucking opinion or political spin. I could care less about the circumstances involved, or if 32 show dogs burnt.
PUT OUT THE FIRE AND DO THE RIGHT THING.

Yes. Go be a fucking accountant if you want to be a box.
So putting the welfare of your family ahead of a dumbass's house and dogs (of which the dumbass obviously doesn't care very much about) makes you a "box."
Interesting theory.

Nothing against accountants with my last post. It could have been any other job on the planet not counting cops or firefighters. Just a job I picked off the top of my head.
Imo, those two jobs bring different morals to the table.

So now when firemen show up to a fire, they have to do a personality evaluation of the person whose house they are saving?
"Whooops scumbag here. No can do. We're just gonna show up and watch your house burn."
PUT OUT THE MOTHERFUCKING FIRE and pick up the pieces later.

do you know all the facts behind the firefighters decision not to put out the fire????? im guessing no
see post 112, and if that is true there is no way any sane person would go into that fire.
btw, the firefighters first made sure no people were inside

So ......"if that is true" is a fact.
You know what? IF that was true I still don't give a fuck. No amount of bullshitting around the subject is gonna change my mind about it either.
They pulled a cock move because of political horseshit. Our cops and firemen should be above that.
I'm a state worker and while unions and all their horseshit keep me cozy and happy in this shitty economy, I'm not stupid enough to rant and rage like the hypocrite assholes at my place when guys like Chris Christie do the right thing and try to break things down.
Cut the shit with the politics! Put the fire out you jerk offs.
That's like a cop who refuses to stop a crime because "oh no, his insurance might not cover him if he winds up getting shot being out of jurisdiction." STOP THE CRIME!
That's like the cops and firefighters in my company NOT going to the World Trade Center on 911. None of them HAD to cross the Hudson, but you know what? Not one fucking guy pulled that union bitch bullshit and pussied out!

With the type of posts you've made I take it you have not bothered to read the thread before posting.
"I take it" you are a firefighter of some sort by the way you are passionately responding way on one side of things.
Thank you for your service, but I hope in a similar situation you don't pull a move like this.
Lmfao, I wonder how often this has happened and if there ever was a typo in the firehouse computers where maybe someone DID pay the fee, but the dispatcher fucked up and saw it wrong and they let a house burn down?

Good point. From what has been written by esteemed (possibly right leaning) members the number one concern is whether someone had paid the $75 in order to get fire service. This over-rides everything. Now if an error was made, and the guy had paid the fee - well to keep arguaments consistant the righties should be calling for mass burnings at the stake at dawn

I thought the comment from the wife of the burnt house was interesting where she said they pay the fee every year, but this year it somrhow slipped through.
So here's a couple that had been paying the fee, but apparently this year they just forgot. And then when the husband told the firefighters that he would pay anything they still wouldn't comply. I could see mosts point about him being a cheapskate and not forking out the 75 bones if he had never paid in, but it sounds like it was an honest mistake of not sending it in this year. I think that holds some clout as well if it is indeed true.

since the fire company "should" come to my house if needed out of human decency regardless of whether ive paid the property tax, service fee etc
i will need someone to file a property tax appeal for me as well as tell my town's municpal services dept to fuck off when they want my quarterly check

i heard this from a fireman and it is another excellent point.
if the firefighters were putting out the fire at the house that didnt pay the fee, and a fire occured at a house within their jurisdiction or at a house that paid the fee, and the firefighters couldnt get to the 2nd house in time, they would be facing one enormous lawsuit.

This is f***** up, PERIOD. Anyone who agrees that the fire department should have let this man's belongings and house burn to the ground are pieces of s***. Put the damn fire out, worry about the money later. If I was a part of that fire department, I would quit immediately. This is unacceptable no matter how you try to cut it. Any man who knew about this but let it happen shouldn't call themselves firemen, they should call themselves cowards. Real fireman do whatever it takes to put the fire out and help the people. That's why we lost so many BRAVE firefighters died 9/11. I hate to tell the world but it is OK to put people over money every now and again. Plus the guy owed $75 dollars, but $750 million. And even so, in this day in age, $75 to the average man is a day or two of work. This is a joke and if I lived in that neighborhood, the outrage would be heard. Funny how he pays the bill every year and never needs the FD and the one year he forgets, this happens. They should owe him for the probably 20 years he paid the $75 bucks and didn't need them to do squat!

no, actually its quite the opposite. the tenn firefighters were willing to go into the house to save a PERSONS LIFE. there was no one inside so they didnt go in.
on 911, ppls lives were at stake. i highly doubt a NJ firefighter is going to go to NY to perform any service that isnt a matter of life or death.
good try though, keep feeding yourself whatever you need to, in order to justify your beliefs, no matter how inaccurate they may be

About as inaccurate as your horseshit story. "Yeah, I was at a local Barne and Noble chatting about politics with a cup of java in my hand when I happened upon a fireman who spit some knowledge my way."

Bottom line is I believe THE FIRE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUT OUT.
Screw the fairy tale "what ifs" and the horseshit politics of it all. Those men(firemen) should have looked at each other and saved the home and animals......despite any other bullshit that goes along with it.
Any other argument is bullshit, imo.

In this scenario they should obviously immediately attend to the house that was paid up. That is not the argument here. The argument is that there was not another fire and as such the FIREMEN SAT IN THEIR FIRE TRUCK AND WATCHED FROM THE LAWN AS THE HOUSE WENT UP IN FLAMES.

what if 2 houses are on fire at the same time next to each other and one person paid their tax and the other didn't. whose house should get saved?
That's basically what happened here....Not sure I would have cared if there wasn't an actual fire truck out in front of the mans home. Once they were dispatched because of the paying neighbor they could have and should have at least tried to put the fire out. If they had not been dispatched and were not going to go because he did not pay then I think my view of the story would be different.
But if the fire department is already there why not help a fellow human being. I understand them not dispatching a truck to his house, but while they were there they could have helped. I think the good samaritan rule comes into play here. I think if any of us saw a little old lady in need and she was been mugged or harrased one would think that 99 out of a 100 men would step in to help because we are people. However, to sit there with a house pointed at a burning house and only spray water on the tree so it doesn't catch on fire seems a little out there.

Unbelievable that a fire department would have to the time to check whether the taxes were paid if they watched it burn that meant they were there so the expenditure was already made put the fire out and charge a fee for unprotected house big 2 or 3k and fund it with a tax lien. That watchin it burn shit is Nazi tactics no place for that shit in the good old USA

do you know all the facts behind the firefighters decision not to put out the fire????? im guessing no
It is true that we do not know all of the facts. But regardless of any other what if scenarios the one fact that we do know is that theFIREMEN SAT IN THEIR FIRE TRUCK AND WATCHED FROM THE LAWN AS THE HOUSE WENT UP IN FLAMES.
