I guess that $500 per call to the current 911 center has paid off....Looks like they got a shelter in town so maybe this guy can call Hanah and post up

When a human life is in danger. Pretty simple.

Here is the statement:
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
Even the firefighters themselves spoke out about it! Granted they probably are covering their own asses and saying what they THINK America wants to hear to avoid a giant controversy, but it sure makes some of the posters on here look silly.

Wrong is wrong. No political bullshit spin or fancy talk can change that!
PUT THE FUCKING FIRE OUT!

As a former firefighter, i totally disagree with what the IAFF said. Fire protection is not a right you are born with. Cities and towns chose to use a paid dept or a volunteer dept. You cant expect a paid dept from another city to be providing fire services to another town who contracted their services for free. Everybody in that town who paid the fee for fire service will get service, but why should somebody who didnt pay be entitled to the services of that dept. Sure its only 75 bucks, but where do you draw the line? Some of you are under the idea that fire protection should be free to you, well its not. Its a service just like anything else in our country, if you want it, then you pay for it. The firefighters were just following orders of the policy makers, it wasnt like that 75 bucks meant anything to them. Some of you just cant seem to understand what direct orders mean. These firefighters had to consider their own lifes and what would happen if they didnt follow the order. Some of you are making it simplier then what it really is. Heres another thought, the fire equiptment does not belong to the firefighters, had they decided to break that order, they would be basically stealing city equiptment. Theres so many things that could have gone wrong if they went in, its not even funny. Bottomline its the home owners fault and the people who created the policy. Maybe the politicians should have explained it even better to all members of the town, that if you dont pay your fee you dont get free fire service when your house goes up in flames.
Lastly all you people who are crying about it being the firefighters fault, why dont you all become volunteers where you live and go out and actually do the job and do it everyday for free.
Also you can be sure that every one of those firefighters wanted to put that fire out and werent standing around laughing about it and calling the home owner a jerk or any other names. Dont you think they knew people would be making them the fall guys for this?
Remember this, the tax payers of one city who are paying for fire protection donot have to have their tax dollars used to pay for the fire protection of another town.

Good Points. At first I was appalled when I heard about this, but after talking it over with my father and his friends at lunch today, this was just one of those things that was going to eventually happpen to prove a point. The line had to be drawn somewhere and this incident was probably the one that broke the camel's back.
I just found out that we are going to have to be paying a $52 a year fee for Fire/Police service here in my town, and guess who is going to be sending their money in immediately...?
Me.

No way dude...people are lazy, forgetful, free-loading pieces of crap. What needs to happen is that at least 3 people die in separate fires. It is the only way these people will learn...

Sometimes even Good People that pay their dues die in fires that fire fighters actually do fight..
At least this event will open up some eyes and make people think twice about blowing off a small fee that could possibly save lives.

Yeah crow, but if 3 or 4 people burn to death then maybe people will remember to pay

I think what happened in this story was enough. I think many eyes have been opened all over the U.S, without any human fatalities.
I still don't get why they didn't get their pets and valuables out of there though.
We have problems here in my town where people were not paying their garbage bill, so they started adding it onto our Local Home Tax.

It’s a town’s fire department. The property in question is outside the town.
