Your Gym Pet Peeves

I also dont like people who excessively talk when you are trying to work out. this one guy was babbling to me, whom I did not even know and all I wanted to do was work out

people who talk on thier cell phones while on the treadmill

RE: the music, I have to hear trance/house/techno through the gym sound system so I never forget my ipod

What I've been doing is to make up a number and tell them to put it on "channel 57" or something.  Have no idea what the Sirius channels are but rather play the musical lottery than listen to whatever they got playing.

 

By the way, anybody understand the "commercial" Sirius channels?..... They are different from the individual channels.

Far from OCD but mismatching dumbbells is a little annoying.  How hard is it to put them back in pairs?  Do these people also mix and match dark and white socks?

 

And whoever decided to drag a dumbbell half way across the gym and leave it there needs a round of wind sprints as punishment.

Oh, and the 4 feet in front of the dumbell rack is an "aisleway" not a lounge or a hair salon.  No loitering

People who use the free weight benches as SHELVES for their water, phone, magazines - put your shit on the floor if you are not using the bench

How is it even possible to have mismatching dumbbells?...... Is somebody using a 25 and a 50 at the same time?  With different hands or something?

I put my shit on benches sometimes...i am guilty..but i will always move it when I see someone who is potentially interested in the bench

I have a bad back, so my biggest pet peeve at the gym is that some of the weights are too heavy

i work out at an upscale Chicago gym called David Bartons.  Lots of snoody people. Of all the gyms i've been to this has to be the wierdest bunch of people.  People just aren't very nice.  Gotta pull teeth just to get 1 damm spot on bench press.   This douche bag that works at the front desk is a total asshole.  One time I said hey hows it goin?  He looked at me like he wanted to kill me and said nothing.  He scanned my membership card and I said "thanks and have a good day" very loud.  He looked at me like he wanted to kill me even more.  Its like a club.  There is a DJ on thursdays which is cool but its just a funny atmosphere sometimes.  

Oh, man, I could write a book on things that piss me off at the gym. Here's a few (some already mentioned)

 

- people who blow snot rockets in the shower

 

- guys who go to urinal barefoot and naked to take a piss. Do they not realize they're standing on tile soaked in piss dribble?

 

-people who cruise the parking lot for 15 min looking for a spot close to the front door. You're about to workout, walk the extra 30 yards and consider it your warm up.

 

-guys who shave naked....pressing their bare cock against the marble sinks.

 

-guys who carry their clothes in a plastic grocery bag. Go spend $20 and get a gym bag, you cheap fuck!

 

-fat fucks walking on a treadmill really pisses me off. I feel like just walking up and cranking that bitch up for them.

 

-Affliction wearing MMA wannabes. Seeing these douches shadow boxing with 5 lb dumbells in their hands make me want to walk up and bitch slap them.

 

-guys who drop their towel to weigh naked. Seriously, bro, you're a doughy 275. It's not like you're trying to make weight to fight for the WBC heavy weight title.

 

-chicks with weight lifting gloves or knee braces. Unattractive.

 

-Group fitness classes. I don't pay $60 a month to come to a gym where a pack of 20 fat housewives are being hearded around and hogging all the equipment

 

-people who drop the dumbells rather than just simply setting them down

 

-guys in aerobics classes. That's just gay.

 

-cardio fanatics. You look like a holocaust victim......mix in some resistance training.

 

-gays who use the mens locker room to stare at naked men

 

-people clipping their finger and toe nails. Save that for home.

 

-guys using the hair dryers to blow their pubes dry.

 

I have to stop! Posting in this thread could eat up my whole Saturday.
