Was it the worst moment of David Stern's entire tenure? I never thought anything would top an official fixing games, but man … how can anything be worse than this? Imagine this happened in your fantasy league. Imagine spending weeks shaping a deal, executing it, then having your commissioner waltz in and say, "Nah, I'm vetoing that one." Would that ever happen? And now this is happening in a PROFESSIONAL SPORTS LEAGUE?

I don't know....would you have let that trade happen? Lol...have you vetoed a trade in any of our leagues yet? I remember last year there was a uproar in baseball with the whole cliff lee trade, that ended up not being a big deal.

Odom, Scola, Martin, Dragic > Chris Paul.

If everyone played to their average...that trade wouldn't be allowed. It's a steal for the team getting 4.

And that was a great trade for the Hornets. They got those 4 plus some 1st rounders. Now they're being FORCED to keep Paul and get NOTHING when the season is over.

The writer of the article also mentioned, not only did stern fuck over the hornets..he essentially fucked 5 teams big time.

Just know that I'm a die-hard Celtics fan and die-hard Lakers hater … and even I am appalled. I hope Chris Paul sues. I hope the Rockets sue. I hope the Lakers sue. I hope Dell Demps resigns and makes a sex tape with a stripper wearing a David Stern Halloween mask. Whatever happens, the season has been irrevocably tainted — we just watched FIVE teams have their seasons screwed up by this debacle. Houston's three-year plan just went up in smoke; now the Rockets have to make up with their two best players. (Good luck with that.) The Lakers need to determine if their relationship with the notoriously sensitive Gasol and the even more notoriously sensitive Odom is salvageable; and if it's not, what then? The Hornets are just plain screwed. It's a basketball catastrophe for them. As for the Celtics, Pinocchio Ainge's ill-fated pursuit of Paul ruined the team's relationship with Rajon Rondo, only its best young player. Even the Knicks got screwed — supposedly they closed the deal with Tyson Chandler yesterday, never expecting Paul to become available this summer (and now they can't chase him).

guys, the main reason 4the trade being declined is because the lakers would free up so much money by getting rid of Gasol n Odom that they would have brought in dwight howard and then u have the small cities with teams struggling to put people in the seats. Stern is trying to have parity amongst the league n its total BSHIT, we'l always have cities that no superstars would ever want to play in, philly is one of them, u have to build through the draft.. i think the trade was good for all parties.

Exactly, guys like Dan Gilbert need to realize you bought the CLEVELAND Cavs and a lot of players are never going to choose to live and play in CLEVELAND (no offense) over cities like LA.  They need to be more involved in drafting and executing trades of their own.  Like Sparky said that was a great trade for New Orleans and now they're fucked after this season if they can't make a deal.

I vetoed one trade in the history of my fantasy leagues and it was the first year we started our league (I believe 6 years ago).  One guy was 0-5 and tried to trade LT (the year he set all the records and was two times better than any player) along with Reggie Wayne for Tiki Barber and Roy Williams to the guy who was in 1st place.  Automatic veto in my opinion and the league decided to veto the trade.

The funny part of the story is the guy who was 0-5 went on to win the championship over the other guy he was trying to with.  On his trophy, I put a * next to champion and told him you're welcome and don't trade away your two best players next time you start off to a slow start.
