Everyone thinks Luck will jsut flat out win this game. V tech has players for days and they are just as well coached if not better.
V tech has played a way tougher schedule against big boys teams...
So you don't think the 7 win's against East Carolina, Boston College, Central Michigan, Wake Forest, Duke, Georgia Tech ( in which they needed a td late in the 4th to win against a bad GT team this year) & Virginia were basically handed to them on a silver platter because I do. I wouldn't call any of those teams Big boy teams...

They failed to score in the 2nd half of that Oregon game and the 2nd qtr of the Sun Devil game. Meanwhile the Hokies left 11 qtr's on the board this season with a big fat zero on it. Just saying...

When this Bowl was first announced I was all over Stanford. I've watched both these teams. Initially, I just felt Stanford was the better, stronger, more balanced team. Since then, I've really come to believe it will be a close game by the end of it. VT just doesn;t give up. They've had a couple of big rally from behind comebacks this year. With that said my money is on Stanford -3 for the game, and Stanford -1 1/2 for the 1st half. I'm not going near the total, but I think it will go Under. Yes VT has balance, defense, and Special Teams; but Stanford is more balanced in my opinion and they will out hustle you and they are going to bring some Hit you in your Mouth tonight. They are a Physical team. Hard Hitting. They've each played one common opponent- Wake Forest. Not much difference in the result. Don't underestimate Stanford and it's schedule. They had 3 shut-outs during the season. Not allowing any points whatsoever is pretty impressive, and they did it 3 times. Virginia Tech's schedule is no murderer's row. I do think it will be a close game, and a good one. VT may win, and they may easily cover 3.5. If I was offered that line, maybe I would take VT, but I like Stanford -3, and I like them to cover the 1st half. Typically they start strong, and typically VT finishes strong.

there is a fairly large difference between a 60 % passer and a 70 % passer..not saying Taylor is a scrub by any means but saying their stats are near identical is not exactly true

Numerous injuries and suspensions piling up for VT. I like VT a lot but not tonight. Check the sacks allowed stats for each offense. It's more than a 5-1 ratio in favor of the Cardinal.

Just like when Michigan beat Florida in their bowl game after App. State beat Michigan early in the season. I realize Florida was probably not as motivated after winning the Champoinship the year before, but a similar situation I think. I'm undecided on the side with a lean towards VT or the under. I just hate betting unders in bowls.
