Why are people betting Stanford...

  • Zero wins over teams currently ranked
  • Claim to fame up 21-3 on Oregon in the 1st half
  • Best win Notre Dame?
  • Schedule only consisted of 4 bowl eligible teams (Oregon, Arizona, ND, Washington)

Sure they have Luck (who is an animal) and a coaching advantage, but what else has Stanford showed you for anyone to lay over a FG vs. probably the hottest team in the country...

Because they pass the eye-ball test really well & they're ranked #4 in the BCS polls.

BEAMER is not to be fucked with in bowl games, especially as a DOG.

Over is my only play in this fight.

In almost all the pro Stanford write-ups, that was mentioned.. though they failed to mention, they then were outscored 49-10..

 I used to say the same thing about Beamer, but two years ago his VA Tech lost to Kansas in a bowl game, costing me a good sum of money.

I watched them dominate @Cal, and I was impressed. Especially since Cal was a tough place to win this year.

Absolutely not.. but sweeping the ACC and playing 8 bowl eligible teams (7-1) is def. a factor..

There's no reason Stanford should be favored outside the publicity Luck and Harbaugh get..

You missed Arizona St was was eligible but did not get invited.

Also ND and Washington won both of their  bowl games respectively...

Cal went 3-3 at home this year..

You watched the Cardinal beat up on Cal with its backup QB in, that same Cal team that went 1-4 with him in, with the only win being by 7 pts vs. Washington State

I also watched Cal lose at home to Washington with a bowl berth on the line..

ASU was not eligible because 2 of its 6 wins were vs. D2 schools..

FSU for sure, NC State will be ranked after the year end. Additional wins over bowl teams UNC, Miami, GA Tech, East Carolina and Boston College. Lost to Boise (shouldn't have, but blew it)

So in total, beat 7 Bowl Eligible teams, played 8, beat 1 ranked team. 

I don't think there's much difference here, both teams are from suspect conferences, but I'd give slight edge to VA Tech with it's wins.  Just my opinion . Good luck

Everyone thinks Luck will jsut flat out win this game.  V tech has players for days and they are just as well coached if not better.

 

V tech has played a way tougher schedule against big boys teams...

Shame on me. I was wrong as I was aware of the rules that state the NCAA allows one victory per season over a Division I FCS (formerly I-AA) team to count toward an FBS team's bowl eligibility. I forgot the Sun Devils had 2 of those wins on their...

That FSU win is looking pretty good these days..

and it's not about a "big" win for VT.. they went 7-1 vs bowl eligible teams..
