WEEK 11 Point Spread Ratings/// Nothing Like the BULL SHIT BCS/AP/Coaches etc

1 TCU 77 HF+4  Dominating....Think Better than Last years Utah Utes (that Hammered Alabama) The Stats are just Off the WALL ... Scoring 37.4 PPG while only allowing 11.2 PPG...Rushing 6th for 242 YPG..Rush D is 7th at 89 YPG...TCU QB's are completing 64% with 17TD's and only 3 Ints..8th Overall in Total Offense with 458.6 YPG// 3rd Overall in Total Defense 240.6 YPG ..Go Figure Texas-Florida-TCU-and Alabama are Ranked 1-4 in Total Defense....TCU and Florida have only allowed teams in the Red zone 14 times this season(tied for first in the NCAA)........ I would Guess Oddsmakers are also in Love with the Horned Frogs making them a 17+ Point Favorite this week VS Utah

2 Florida 76.5   The Gators might start eyeing the SEC Championship Game vs Bama..MAY be able to catch some Value the Final 3 weeks ATS with South Carolina17+,,FIU 38+,,,and Florida St 23+ ???  While we won't get the Playoff that most of us want .. We will get part of it in the SEC Championship,Too Bad Texas can't face TCU for the other spot in the NC Game.. ..Bama vs Florida is a Coin Flip right now IMO

2 Texas 76.5   The Stats don't lie for my Top 4 Teams , they are all AWESOME....The Horns Defense might be the best of the Bunch..Texas still Must WIN 4 Games to get to the BCS Championship... One concern I have about Texas in a tight ball game is the Lack of a "real" running Game (62nd ranked Rushing attack)

4 Alabama 70  (really Tied for 2nd at 76.5)  The Tide are every bit as good as the Top 3 teams above... Just knocking them down some for this week Only having already wrapped up the SEC West with the HUGE WIN over LSU....Might be sleeping at Mississippi St this week (a team the Tide usually has Trouble with) McElroy scares me in a BIG Game ...

5 Cincinnati 63 HF+3.5   Brian Kelly might not be in Cincinnati for long ... His Systems are fantastic wherever he goes.. Might run into a 2 headed QB problem when Pike comes back!! Could it split the Locker room ??? Friday Nite's game vs West Virginia will NOT be easy.. either will the sandwhich game vs Illinois (who is playing much better lately) The Finale at PITT will decide the BIG EAST and my Bearcats +800 to win the BE Future(hedging forsure)

6 Boise St 62.5  HF+6.5  Survived a major scare at La Tech(just what the Broncos needed) 3 of the 4 remaining games are at Home..The Schedule is a Joke ///That Being said I doubt BCS schools want to play a "Home and Home" with Boise St

7 PITT 61.5 HF+4.5   Holy Crap The Stache has the Panthers in the TOP 10....So Much talent to work with...The Defense leads the Country in Sacks(39)....Clausen should be running for his Life... The Irish are giving up 148 Rushing yards per game .. Sounds Like PITT should win by 14+

7 Georgia Tech 61.5  Please stop before you give me a heart Attack ... With my Yellow Jackets to WIN the ACC +850 Future on the Line Ga Tech almost choked vs Wake Forest last week....Staying away ATS this week from the Game at Duke (although BlueDevils ML + the points would make for small smart  hedge)

9 LSU 61 HF+3.5    Hats off to the Tigers for giving the Tide all they could handle... Actually had Bama on the Ropes...  I would give them a much Higher Point Spread rating if they were not out of the SEC West Race...Might be sleepwalking this week vs La Tech

10 Ohio St 60.5  HF+7   Glad I stayed away from PSU ATS last week... Had a funny feeling the Buckeyes would pull out the W in Happy Valley....Catching Iowa at the right time (with Stanzi out) coming off major upset loss to Northwestern.... I would LOve to see OHIO ST play Boise St(Best team on the West Coast) in the Rose Bowl..Although it will NOT Happen

Well to the Naked Eye the Utes +17 looks like a Gift ....

While I will most likely be  just watching this one with no Money involved(rooting for TCU)

I think Oddsmakers know what they are doing and must really respect The Horned Frogs for them to be laying 17+...

HC Gary Patterson keeps talking about needing BIG lopsided wins to stay in the BCS hunt....

The Trends scream UTAH +the points... but I am not listening

    Hey DoubleUp,

Would you mind predicting the future for me?  I've got Wisky at -10, which I'm completely content with laying, but do you think I can wait it out and get 9.5/9.  This will be my biggest play of the year and I will have a write-up soon on here, but I'm just debating whether or not I wanna hit it now or try and wait to get something in the single-digits.  I haven't even looked at Sparty's match-up this week yet, that's how focused I am on the Michigan/Wisky game

You know I'm a bit of a homer, but Sparty to win the NCAAB championship at +1400 is looking pretty nice!!

I can't see why the Wisky line would drop to anything below 9... I still see 9.5/9 in some spots and unless it doesn't hit 7 it really is not crossing any key numbers .

-10  Seems fine to me ... If Michigan was Purdue(who beat Michigan) this line would probley be 14+.... ... Oddmskers know they will always have Michigan backers and I don't think they want too much ML value out there for Wolves backers

... The More people look at Michigan  they will realize how Bad they are sucking lately....

Combine all of  this with Michigan having their Bowl Game on deck next week vs Ohio St

Wisconsin minus 10 or less should atleast be BIG 10 play of the year material ... Glad we agree Brother

Been doing some work on NCABB(BIG10) Like Michigan St and Purdue to battle it out for the Conference Crown

Just what is your total for this year, seeing as you wager on just about every game on the board?  I was just wondering because it is impossible to keep up with you, and I notice that you do not give us any running totals.  I'm hitting at over 67% since 10/9 and can prove it.  19-9-2 to be exact.  I am 45-26-2 overall, for a 63% clip both college and pro. I know, not many games, but why bet a little on a bunch of games when you can do so well wagering a lot on a few selected games.  You are a good capper with some knowledge, but you wager on way too many games for my likings.

Good job..I like the way he does this..It gives people like me and you a way of seeing if were in agreement or not on a game..He brings up points that put me on a game sometimes or it tells me to stay away from that game. I had success on a 3 team 10 pt teaser last week...Look into that!!!

NEW YORK (AP)—All those blowouts have carried TCU to unprecedented heights in the BCS standings, giving the Horned Frogs hope—however slim—of becoming the first BCS buster to break into the national championship game.

TCU took over fourth place in the Bowl Championship Series standings Sunday behind Florida, Alabama and Texas. It’s the highest BCS ranking ever for a team from a conference without an automatic bid to the big-money bowl games. No potential BCS buster had ever done better than sixth in the BCS standings.

Florida is first for the fourth straight week, and Alabama and Texas switched spots for the second week in a row.

    The Gators and Crimson Tide have clinched their respective divisions in the Southeastern Conference and will meet Dec. 5 in the league championship game. One of them is all but guaranteed a spot in the BCS title game on Jan. 7 in Pasadena, Calif., if they can get through the next month without a loss if(window.yzq_d==null)window.yzq_d=new Object(); window.yzq_d['7QO8EWKImiI-']='&U=13ekoekr7%2fN%3d7QO8EWKImiI-%2fC%3d715481.13522283.13597024.1323516%2fD%3dSKY%2fB%3d5761156%2fV%3d1';

The same goes for Texas, which has three regular-season games and possibly the Big 12 championship remaining.

The other undefeated teams—TCU, Cincinnati and Boise State—need the top three to stumble to have any shot of reaching the title game.

The Horned Frogs (.8620) moved up two spots and are just ahead of Cincinnati (.8579) and Boise State (.8125). Each is 9-0 with three games left.

TCU has been rising by racking up lopsided victories. The Horned Frogs have won their last four games by an average score of 44-8.

Meanwhile, Boise State has played close games against Tulsa and Louisiana Tech in the last month, two teams with losing records. Cincinnati struggled to put away Connecticut in a wild 47-45 victory on Saturday night.

TCU is ranked fourth in both the Harris and coaches’ polls, and in the compilation of six computer rankings used by the BCS. Cincinnati is fifth in the two polls and third in the computer ratings, while Boise State is sixth across the board.

BCS analyst Jerry Palm said TCU, even if the teams in front of it lose and the Frogs keep winning, still could have a hard time getting into the BCS title game.

Cincinnati from the Big East has a tougher schedule down the stretch and could pass the Horned Frogs. Plus, there’s no guarantee that in the end a one-loss team would not get more support from poll voters than TCU.

“If they have to vote for No. 2 are they going to vote for a TCU team ahead of an 11-1 Georgia Tech or a 12-1 Alabama if their only loss is to Florida,” Palm said.

The Horned Frogs and Broncos are also competing to earn the one automatic bid that non-automatic bid conferences can earn by finishing in the top 12 of the final standings.

TCU plays Mountain West Conference rival Utah on Saturday. A win there for the Horned Frogs could provide even more separation between them and Boise State, which does not have another ranked team on its schedule.

    The Gators and Crimson Tide have clinched their respective divisions in the Southeastern Conference and will meet Dec. 5 in the league championship game. One of them is all but guaranteed a spot in the BCS title game on Jan. 7 in Pasadena, Calif., if they can get through the next month without a loss if(window.yzq_d==null)window.yzq_d=new Object(); window.yzq_d['7QO8EWKImiI-']='&U=13ekoekr7%2fN%3d7QO8EWKImiI-%2fC%3d715481.13522283.13597024.1323516%2fD%3dSKY%2fB%3d5761156%2fV%3d1';

    INSIDE SLANT

No. 3 Alabama clinched its second consecutive division title with a 24-15 victory over No. 9 LSU, and head coach Nick Saban quickly invoked the “24 hour rule.”

That’s how long the team is allowed to celebrate a victory before focusing on the next game, which in this case is against Mississippi State in Starkville on Saturday.

Clinching the division title sets up a rematch with No. 1-ranked Florida in the SEC Championship Game. And if history holds true to form, the winner of that game will advance to the BCS Championship Game in the Rose Bowl in January.

Winning the division title is the first step, but it was kind of an afterthought Saturday when compared to keeping the national championship dream alive.

“It kind of hit us after the game that we won the West,” said cornerback Javier Arenas. “I wouldn’t say we’re used to it, like we’ve been dominating forever. But we know how that feels.”

Alabama (9-0, 6-0 SEC West) beat LSU—the best team it will face until it gets to Atlanta—in typical fashion: Wear down an opponent, and then put them away in the fourth quarter.

But it wasn’t easy. Alabama had trailed for a total of two minutes, 48 seconds this season before Saturday, and hadn’t been behind anyone on the scoreboard since the second game of the season.

LSU took leads in the second, third and fourth quarters, leading for a total of 20 minutes, 27 seconds.

But, eventually, the Tigers wore down and broke down. Quarterback Jordan Jefferson left with a sprained ankle. LSU tailback Charles Scott left with a broken collarbone.

“It was a tough, physical game,” Saban said. “And man, those games are fun to be part of.”

Particularly when you win. Tailback Mark Ingram kept making a statement for the Heisman Trophy, with 144 yards rushing. Wide receiver Julio Jones reappeared as a big-time option with a game-winning, 73-yard touchdown run off a screen pass.

“I’m extremely pleased and happy that we won the West and we now control our own destiny in terms of what else we can accomplish,” Saban said.

If that sounded scripted, well, maybe it was.

After all, this team has bigger goals in mind.

    NOTES, QUOTES

    • TB Mark Ingram continues to be at his best in the biggest games. The sophomore has accounted for 712 yards rushing (178.0 average) with three rushing touchdowns in four games against opponents ranked in the Top 25 at game time. He also has caught 13 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown, giving him 816 all-purpose yards in those four games.

    • PK Leigh Kiffin’s three field goals against LSU gives him 348

I am very much against the idea of a playoff, for reasons long mentioned and beyond the scope of this post.  However, assuming things play out as they should, you really have to feel for TCU.  It's not like they're Hawaii, who were life and death with La Tech and Nevada a couple of years back, or even Utah, who got bitch-slapped all over SLC by the Frogs last year, but still managed to find a way to win.  These guys have just answered the bell every week.   Texas has played about 7 good quarters all year.  TCU has played about 7 bad minutes. In its last 4, the Frogs have outscored their foes 178-25.  It looks like they're going to do nothing wrong and not get a shot.  That is clearly the downside of my no-playoff preference.

Maine, don't feel bad for TCU. If this team goes undefeated and wins a BCS game, they'll be back even stronger next year. This is actually a very young team. Frogs just hired a new AD who knows it is paramount to keep Patterson in town if he wants to keep his own job. The entire offense except for HB Joe Turner is back next year and even though Hughes and the 2 CBs graduate, the defense will still be spectacular. Plus, starting as a top 10 team in the pre-season polls would give them an unprecedented shot at the BCSCG next year.

Boise's entire team will also be back for 2010. Boise vs TCU NCG?  What a nightmare that would be for the BCS.

Great insight DoubleUp on the TCU and Utah matchup. Hopefully the Horned Frogs can get some revenge this weekend for the three previous losses to the Utes.
