    Why?

I've said numerous times in this thread I think the SEC is the best conference..

Just because we don't agree on one game doesn't make me a SEC hater.. you just can't admit the fact the Tide lost to the better team on that day..

You will never get Bama fans to admit anything negative about their team.

What simply happened is A very well coached and undervalued team beat the wine out of a good, but not great Alabama team that was even less so missing its best offensive lineman. Look, we can argue until the cows com home, but situational handicapping is important when used properly. This by all appearances falls into that category, but simply put Utah was the better team and would have won anyway, no matter the circumstances, more often then not.

I am not trying to change your way of thinking or betting, been doing this way to long to really care to be honest, just hate to see so many things such as this put in a "black or white" (for lack of a better phrase at 1:36am in the morning), situational capping in this instance. Situational capping is real and alot of the time gives us a clear ciut advantage, but the fact here and reason I cleaned up as well on that particular game was The best offensive lineman being out left a glaring hole that could not be filled and Utah (much like several non-qualifiers in the 21st century are just not taken seriously enough, something I have done and will continue to capitalize on in the past and the future, the very thing that makes college sports so prosperous.

You are crrrect...Situational capping can''is key to making money, but not as sure thing as you make it out to be here as a rule. Sometimes (and this was a clear instance of this fact) Utah was better then Bama, emotions or not...You have a right to your opinion and I too mine, thankfully for people like us who do have experience as I have no doubt you do well overall...Best Of Luck This Up Coming Season...

I've said numerous times in this thread I think the SEC is the best conference..

Just because we don't agree on one game doesn't make me a SEC hater.. you just can't admit the fact the Tide lost to the better team on that day..

So the fact that you know the SEC is the best conference proves you’re not an SEC-hater because…

Hell, knowing the SEC is easily the best conference and no one else comes close is one of the main reasons most SEC-haters hate the SEC.

Wrong again. I’ve already said Utah was the better team that day.

Alabama wanted no part of that game and they played like it while to Utah that was the biggest game in the history of their football program and they played like it. That is one of the most dramatic swings in motivation you can have for a college football bowl game.

While Utah was the better team that day I don’t think they were the better team that season. If they had played in the national championship game I think Bama most likely wins by DD.

While I do disagree with you in part at least you are doing a decent job of pleading your case.

It's good to see things are warming up in the college football threads, this is going to be a good year for the wise ones. Damn i can't wait....

Good Luck to everybody i hope you fill your pockets with allot of...

The Utah vs Alabama game is like beating a dead horse, it's time to move on.

This is what comes along with being so good for so many years, along with being in the SEC.

But by no means should we called each others favoite team, another teams bitches if they lost a game, because they didn't show up and play well.

Any game another team can win.

Hope we all become friends threw the years, and not ememys. We love college football and we damn well love our teams.

    Peace to everybody, and  Roll-Tide

I do not let my being a fan stand in the way of betting, or being able to see what was a terrible situation going into that Sugar Bowl against Utah. But of course there is no such thing as teams having a let downs are they? A team loses the biggest game of the year for them ( SEC Championship) which with a win would have been playing for the National Championship, to end up playng Utah in the Sugar Bowl.  Yes, I must be a Bama homer to think that they would be flat, and not be ready to play.

ok dude.  You are right.  A big time NCAA program with a legendary coach tanked in a huge BCS bowl game and got blown out by an "inferior" non BCS team because they simply did not want to be there.

    Makes perfect sense.

    Yo have me sold.

Any more excuses that you care to come up with?

What are the reasons that they lost to SC, LSU, and Auburn last year?  Was it the refs, the game times, the weather not right, looking ahead to the following weeks game?  I do not follow Bama football that closely so maybe you can fill me in.

So it is true. you are a moron. So by saying Bama wasn't ready to play against Utah, you are asking why Bama lost three games last year? three conference games against three good teams?  Yes, go shoot yourself

I was just making a point about what the other excuses were for the games they lose.  It seems that some people can not just say that they lost a game and leave it at that.  No need to qualify everything.

You are displaying the reasoning ability of a tree stump.

I don't see anyone making excuses for why Bama, or any or all SEC teams, lose each and every game they play. Only stating the obvious about Bama being able to put the SEC Championship loss behind them, and get ready for Utah, which they weren't able to do. This is all part of the game, in which the coaches for Bama failed miserably.

Using yours and a few others " logic" or lack of, one could assume that James Madison is the better team, simply because Virginia Tech didn't show up after imploding against Boise in their first game last season. But no, that couldn't be possible, because teams never have let downs, and those kids always respond well to adversity.  Great job Scooter

So yes, by me saying that, I am now a Virginia Tech homer....

It is not that JMU is a better team than V. Tech.  It is simply that they lost the game.  That is all to the conversation.

I am not even sure how this thread turned to Bama vs Utah (i do not feel like going back to read how it got started) but I think that the point (at least that I am trying to make) is that the SEC fans refuse to give other teams any credit an SEC team loses.

Utah may not of been the better team throughout that season but guess what they kicked Bama's ass that day.  Forget all the other excuses.  Bama got it handed to them by a solid Utah team.  The conversation should end there.
