Northwestern junior safety David Arnold (foot), sophomore linebacker Roderick Goodlow (knee) and freshman wide receiver Tony Jones (shoulder) will miss the season opener Sept. 4 at Vanderbilt. Redshirt freshman linebacker Tim Riley had shoulder surgery before the start of preseason practice and will also miss the season opener.
David Arnold was the only projected starter.

Arizona (8/16): "Junior wide receiver Juron Criner, who did not travel to Fort Huachuca because of a concussion, is still out of practice but should return this week. Outside receivers coach Dave Nichol said he wasn't worried about Criner's absence from practice because of the receiver's experience".
Also at Tennessee (8/17): UT coach Derek Dooley confirmed after Monday afternoon’s practice that junior college transfer John Brown and athlete Marcques Dixon will not play for the Vols this season.
