Even though I don't care for the Wolverines,I hate reporting news like this.Senior Michigan CB Troy Woolfolk will miss the entire upcoming season due to a dislocated ankle and broken fibula.This injury is devastating to an already depleted Wolverine secondary.The cornerback position has been hit particularly hard recently at Michigan as All-Big Ten selection Donovan Warren left a year early for the NFL, and reserve J.T. Turner last week was granted his release from the team. Top recruit Demar Dorsey, a candidate to play corner and safety, was denied admission in June.

Also Kentucky WR Gene McCaskill will miss the entire season with a knee injury.McCaskill was the #3 starting WR on the latest UK depth chart.

You were talking about the problems CSU is having with attrition at DE.  That reminded me of the UT/Tech game last year where Tech was down to like a single scholarship DE.  Yet the Red Raiders somehow covered.  How did they do it?

Update on two starters for USC (as of 8/17):

Starting left guard Butch Lewis is about a week away from returning from a strained groin muscle, Trojans coach Lane Kiffin said.

** Defensive end Nick Perry, no longer in a walking boot for his high right ankle sprain, is about two weeks from returning. Kiffin said the coaches are planning to have Perry available for the Sept. 2 season opener at Hawaii.

 

Dont think Nick Perry will be available for Hawaii game since his replacement, Armond Armstead (6'5/295), has been dominant at DE position.  Head coach Lane Kiffin compared Armstead to former NFL great Michael Strahan.

Corn is now with the greatness of the NORTH GREENVILLE  CRUSADERS (D3?).....off 2-8 season......hopefully he will be ready by opener with MARS HILL......wtf?

Iowa starting LB Jeff Tarpinian broke his hand and had surgery. Expected to miss 2-3 weeks.

OSU lineman Marcus Hall (soph) will redshirt this year because of academics. Hall played in 9 games last year, fighting for a starting spot this year. From what I saw last year he was good as a frosh.
