Spurrier said Saunders would be held out indefinitely for violating team rules -- and not for any potential findings from this summer's continuing NCAA inquiry centered around the 6-foot-6 senior. He was not at practice Monday night.

looks like WF WR injury the other day is not as bad as appeared
Brown, who was not in pads, will miss a few days with a bruised knee, but the concern that he had injured a knee ligament in Thursday's scrimmage proved unfounded. The magnetic-resonance imaging test performed Thursday night revealed there was no damage to his medial -collateral ligament, as originally suspected.
Brown, a junior receiver, led the Deacons last season with 61 catches.
"They said it was just a bone bruise and a slight sprain," Brown said. "So it's good news, and hopefully I'll be back out (practicing) soon.
"I'm just trying to get treatment as much as I can every day and get back as soon as I can

Vanderbilt's 1st team RB Norman to have MRI today...2nd team Stacy already has a sprained medial collateral ligament (8/12) and RB Wesley Johnson is out with foot injury.
"Norman missed practice with a wrap on his swollen right knee, an injury that has caught everyone by surprise given his light workload and lack of contact in preseason camp."
"We have no clue if it was last spring or this fall, but all of a sudden it swelled up, so we're going to get it checked out good," Coach Robbie Caldwell said.

yeah pretty even in camp, feel Stanley will likely start however both he and masoli will play in the first couple games, then depending on those either pick one or continue with 2 splitting time...well assuming NCAA ever gets around to reviewing paperwork

Air Force CB's hurt...could affect week 2 against BYU:
Cornerbacks Anthony Wright Jr. and Josh Hall are nursing injuries, and are in danger of missing at least Air Force’s season opener on Sept. 4.
“They’re going to be out for a while,” Falcons coach Troy Calhoun said.
Wright has injured ribs and Hall has an injured ankle. Wright is a starter and an all-Mountain West preseason selection, and Hall has been the Falcons’ third cornerback for most of camp. Falcons coach Troy Calhoun didn’t give a timetable on either player. He couldn’t say if either player has been ruled out of the opener.

Hey KSU, who will take over for Aufner and how good is he? Thanks in advance.
My guess would be either JR Zach Hansen or JR Manase Foketi. All I know is that Hansen has reps, has been in the program for a year now, and is penciled in as the starter at LT. Foketi is a juco transfer and has supposedly been vying for playing time at LT, so he could probably move over as well.
Long and short of it...no alarms going off yet...they've got some bodies to plug in.

Florida shuffling their o-line b/c of injuries. Their two top LTs, Nixon and Patchan, are hurt. Nixon has a knee, the severity of which is unknown. Patchan has a broken wrist, is practicing, but not in full contact drills. So they flipped RT Gilbert out to LT, then moved Pouncey from center to RT, with Soph. Sam Robey moving to center. It's something to keep an eye on, maybe not against MIami (OH), but certainly against So Florida in Week 2.

Vandy top RB Warren Norman questionable for opener:
Vanderbilt running back/return specialist Warren Norman underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Wednesday, and team officials said he's questionable for the Sept. 4 opener against Northwestern at Vanderbilt Stadium.
Norman, last season's SEC Freshman of the Year, led the Commodores with 783 yards rushing and returned three kickoffs for touchdowns, tying an SEC single-season record.
Norman's issue with his knee cropped up last week when he complained of swelling. He didn't go through Saturday's scrimmage and had the knee scoped Wednesday.
Vanderbilt has been decimated with injuries at the running back position. Sophomore Zac Stacy suffered a sprained MCL two weeks ago, but he was fully dressed and scheduled to return to practice on a limited basis Wednesday.
Also, redshirt freshman Wesley Tate has been sidelined with a foot injury all preseason, but worked out with trainers on the side earlier this week and was able to do the most he's done.

make that one frosh.....Roy Finch out 2 months or so with hairline fracture..... * backup ( probably better back than MM) is soph Jermie Calhoun ....with soph J Miller and fresh B Clay filling in.....(Calhoun and Clay top recruits.....Rivals #2, #7 I think
UCLA QB Prince now doubtful.....(may practice Mon)
S CARO looks like several guys from hotel gate (might) be out for SM......Saunders looks VERY doubtful......and others ...including DT Ajiboye and FS Akeem Auguste should be considered ?.....Spurrier has already said they would not appeal * smart thing to do is plan on them NOT playing > just AVOID...no reason to buy out of SC bet just yet....

A press conference will be held later today at UNC regarding some academic issues that they self reported to the NCAA. Several players are involved and have already been moved to the scout team. Suspensions could be on the way.

I may not lay the 13.5 now on SC... Might be tempted if line hits 10 if they announce suspensions
that's the CORRECT angle man .....
unless just a TON of guys out....a team will play harder the 1st game ..... a key guy(s) is out.....so actually look to PLAY ON.....rather than fade...(especially if line drops past key #) *if same guys out the NEXT game.... FADE usually...

Projected starting MLB Anthony McDonald is doubtful for the Purdue game...
Braxton Cave and Dan Wenger are battling for the starting center job.
Cierre Wood is the number 2 back and could quite possibly take Armando Allen's spot.
Sophomore Chris Watt challenging 5th year senior Chris Stewart for a starting guard spot.
TJ Jones and Duval Kamara are battling for the X receiver spot.
Looks like Kerry Neal and Darrius Fleming have locked down the outside linebacker spots. The safety position is set with Jamoris Slaughter and Harrison Smith.
Slot receiver is going to be Theo Riddick...remember he was converted from running back.
Looks like Sophomore Carlo Calabrese and Dan Fox will both get reps opposite of Manti Te'O at the other MLB position.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Illinois safety Supo Sanni is out for the
season after tearing his right Achilles' tendon.
Coach Ron Zook says the junior was injured during practice
Wednesday. Sanni, who was slated to start in the secondary for the
Illini, was scheduled to have surgery on Thursday.
The 6-3, 220-pound Sanni, from Chicago Heights, will be able to
redshirt this season and still have two years of eligibility left. He
played in 11 games as a sophomore.
Bookieassassin was on top of the Derrick Washington suspension.
I figure if anyone knows the reason, the boys at the best Mizzou blog, rockmnation.com, will break the news. Or at least come up with the best rumors...

Re: UNC North Carolina will suspend
four defensive starters for next week's Week 1 showdown against LSU. The
suspensions will likely be for more than one game and possibly the
entire season.
In fact, Alexander says that senior cornerback Charles Brown has been kicked off the team.
The three other players are DE Marvin Austin, LB Bruce Carter and DE Robert Quinn.

Wow...Glad I laid some juice on LSU already. I figured Austin was in trouble. Robert Quinn might be the biggest loss. That guy is an absolute freak..
