I will wait till 30 minute before to decide if i will bet or not..gonna watch the line move.

I've capped the game fully. Of course Memphis looks bad. To the average joe just glancing at the game, this is not appealing. They just lost 59-30 to Tulsa and SMU has won two in a row. And that is PRECISELY when you want to take the team that is struggling. That is what you look for to make the pick, not shy away from it.

Like the other guy said this game looks like coin flip with momentum for smu so there must be value in the moneyline but obviously i am not going to go against you.

Will wait and watch the line.  PLEASE ASSURE US THAT YOU ARE THE REAL SCAL who hasn't been bought out!

I hit two NBA picks with a lot of luck....

The Knicks lead Memphis the ENTIRE game and won. That's 'luck' folks...

The Kings did exactly what the Spurs did to them the night before: trail and snatch the lead late. But you didn't say the Spurs win was luck. No, that was a GOOD win because it was the Spurs.

The Kings do the same exact thing to Minnesota and that is 'luck'.

Your selective perception is why you struggle as a capper.

Correct. Sharps have hammered SMU since the opener.

Give us the better games. Give us the sure winners then.

There are no 'better' games. If there were, we'd all be millionaires.

This isn't OK, laying 21 points on the road. Now THAT's a tough game to hit. And lo and behold, it didn't hit.

This is Memphis who can play one of the the best air raid games around vs an SMU team that has already far exceeded expectations.

This line is -9 in Memphis. I'm more than happy to lay just a FG on the road.

We'll see about the direction Memphis takes on Saturday.

I might play this game, but so far ive taken Memphis 3 times, and they were 1-2 ATS, but even the game they won was some of the worst football i had ever seen,  Conversely SMU has actually been solid all year, but seems to be playing their best football of the year... They have Back to Back SU wins as an underdog.  Obviously they smoked Houston, and beat Tulane this past week... I could see how the recency bias may have made this line smaller than it should be.

I am interested why you feel so strongly about Memphis in this spot, I'm not suggesting you're wrong because it was obvious a lot of :sharps" were on Tulane last week to beat SMU at home...

Riley Ferguson has been terrible in every game that ive watched, I think Temple held his to about 25 yards in the 1st half... Dane Evans and Tulsa beat Memphis by 19, and even though SMU doesnt have a QB as talented as Evans, Sutton will probably be the best WR their defense has covered...

Well the Houston game in hindsight is no longer the enormous win it once was.

Houston has: lost to navy, lost to SMU, came one yard from going to OT with Tulane, barely squeaked by UCF at home.

Why? Ever since Hermann was rumored to go to Texas, the team has disconnected. That coach is the heart and soul of that team and Ward Jr. is his lifeblood. One is likely leaving and the other is underwhelming. Hence the losses. Hence we can downgrade that 'enormous' win.

Add to that SMU was coming off a bye, was at home and Houston really their Super Bowl. There was high emotion that night. Then you add in the huge underdog role (21.5 pts) and you get a recipe for disaster with Houston.

Last week was not impressive at all for SMU.

In fact, Tulane handed them the game.

Tulane was up 31-28 and had a 4th and 4 on SMU's 21 with 4 minutes left. What did Coach Fritz do? He went for it and got stuffed. Passed up a 38 yard FG to go up 6.

Instead of going up 34-28, and kicking off, he gift-wrapped all the momentum back to SMU. They drove down the field and won with 1 minute left 35-31. When Tulane drops 31 points on you, that's not a good thing. They implemented the Triple Option for the first time this year and Memphis, as bad as their Defense is, held Tulane to 14 in a 24-14 win on their field.

Hicks was very shaky last week throwing 2 INT's and as you said, Riley will go toe to toe with him. And Riley will win that battle. They will both put up points but this is a very good spread and Memphis is laying points for a reason.

And you'd be remiss to mention Sutton without mentioning Anthony Miller who had 250 yards and 16 catches last week, with plays that would make O'dell Beckham envious. How will SMU contain him? They have the same exact problems in their secondary that Memphis does and he's even more of a weapon.

Well you have nothing to go on. I had no write-up. It will develop before kick-off. I was too pissed off to type up two pages again.

I know. Vastly different spots for both teams now though.

Memphis has Houston, USF and Cincy (who always plays them tough left) remaining. They sit at 5-3. They very well could go into that Cincy game on life support on a 4 game losing streak if they do not win here. That makes this game, in terms of salvaging their season that started so promising, and not limping into a bowl, if they get there, a must-win.

SMU on the other hand was pegged for 3 wins on 5Dimes. Those totals, while some are wildly off, are good indicators of the product on the field.

And the product on the field for SMU isn't even what should be there.
Matt Davis was actually SMU's star. He could run and air it out. Hicks can run a bit, but he is unwilling to. And that is great for such a poor run defense in Memphis. Also, Xavier Jones was their starting RB and he's gone too. Both those guys were more talented than what is out on the field now.

While what SMU has done with back-ups is tremendous, it can only take them so far and it ends right here on a two game winning streak with a Memphis coming in absolutely needing this game. 4-4 though 8 is massively overachieving.

And Memphis overall has more weapons. Memphis' run D is their problem (800 yard over the past 2) and SMU will get yards on the ground but to our benefit they are a pass first team.

Add to that that Memphis just played Tulsa, a team exactly like SMU and several notches above. SMU just played Tulane, a triple-option team. One team comes in having played what they just saw, downgraded, and the other needs to make a tough transition.

It all will add up to a Memphis win and cover.

Not sure if I'll be touching this game, but I've had SMU the last 3 weeks as dogs and they've been easy money. This game is critical for SMU's bowl hopes. They would only need to win 1 more game after this one to get a bid. And they still have to play at ECU, home to USF, and Navy, so this one's crucial.

Last week was easy money with SMU +2.5 and Tulane on SMU's 21 with 4 minutes left up 31-28? Fritz gifted SMU backers the game.

The game before was SMU's entire season with Houston flailing. I can't take away from a win where you are 21.5 pt dogs but a public win like that creates this line in Memphis' backers favor.

And why talk about a "few big passing plays" for SMU when Memphis does the same thing even better against and equally poor secondary with more weapons and experience?

And SMU's coach, having been there a year and a half is better than Memphis'?

SMU isn't the one with bowl hopes. Their 4 wins are DOUBLE their win total last year and their coach is not in danger of losing his job. They just hired him last year. SMU hasn't spoken about bowl hopes all year. They've spoke about surviving and building on last year.

Memphis has the legitimate bowl hopes siting at 5-3 and from game 1, have been trying to prove they can win without Paxton Lynch. And they've done that. And now they get one more game against inferior competition to notch that last win. In a GOOD season for them especially when they lost a star QB.

Don't like your counterpoints. They don't add up.

Again, did you ever think my thoughts actually benefit people? I'm posting games correctly 70% of the time for TWO YEARS.

Then you retort, "TOO SMALL A SAMPLE!!"

I say who cares about the sample! In a vacuum, people are looking for ONE WINNER. Not one, not two, not Ten. ONE. And then they move to the next one, like I do.

And that next one will be a winner too. As will this one. There are actually 4 GREAT games this week but I posted one.

Anyhow, you want to make money? Play it. I'll win 7 of ten. This is one of those 7.
