Yeah this virus isn't going anywhere anytime soon ...

Whatever area has a low infection rate currently , will definitely be dealing with it in a few months

The people of the U.S. are so gullible.   I dont know why people are fixated on just death statistics when it comes to COVID 19 ... Severe lung & nerve damage , strokes , and Chronic fatigue syndrome are other possible issues ...   Take a look at Chronic fatigue syndrome,  it sucks , never goes away  QUICK LESSON about AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES and COVID-19. Auto-Immune disease causes the white blood cells that normally protect your body from invaders to turn around and ATTACK your CELLS, TISSUES and ORGANS. CHRONIC FATIGUE is another symptom. It is not a cold or the flu, you will NEVER get BETTER. Sleeping 10 hours doesn’t leave you well rested, ever. PAINFUL JOINTS, MUSCLES and BONES, dry skin, BREAKING HAIR, HAIR LOSS, MOOD SWINGS, and DEPRESSION are just the tip of the ICEBERG. You are also PRONE to having MULTIPLE AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES, they typically come in pairs of two. You easily catch viral and bacterial infections. You have days where no matter how hard you try, you just can’t smile for anyone. I urge you to think twice before passing judgment and thinking our nation is overreacting to the extra measures being taken to curb the spread of this virus. YOU might be able to recover from it no problem, however, carry it to SOMEONE WITH AN AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE and that individual won’t be as lucky.
Hey Brother, it's good to see you back. I haven't been spending much time in the forums with the football season in doubt, but I've pretty much decided to carry on business as usual until I hear some solid news on the season. My brother is a pharmaceutical salesman who specializes in anti-viral drugs, so he's kept me informed of this disease since the start. And so far he's been spot on. We're both hopeful that they'll start up sometime this fall or spring, but he says the main problem with these team sports is going to be contact tracing. For instance, if you have a group of QB's on a team who all practice together, if one of those QB's get the virus, there's a good chance (with a covid test being less than 100% accurate) that they would ALL have to quarantine for 14 days. Same goes for the rest of the units who practice together, but in a more direct contact way, such as the linemen. There are many logistics that they'll have to figure out along the way. These AD's will literally be flying by the seat of their pants with this Covid if they get the season started on time..

Hopefully, they'll find a way to work this out. But if or when the season gets in full swing and we start getting two teams from different states coming into full contract with each, the virus could spread like wildfire among the teams. Right now, there's no way of knowing. And that's not even counting the potential hazards of the travel/hotels involved each week with these teams and coaches. It's going to be a large undertaking if they decide to move forward with the season. I'm hoping for some kind of vaccine within this next year, but like my pharmaceutical salesman brother said, "they've been saying they'll have a vaccine for the aids virus for the last 40 years, and it hasn't happened." He thinks they'll have some sort of vaccine for this covid-19 because the ENTIRE world is working on it. But if it's anything like the other covid viruses of the past, it won't be close to 100% effective because covid's are always morphing into other hybrids of itself. In fact the virus we are seeing now isn't anything like the covid-19 virus that we saw back in January. So any flu vaccine isn't going to be 100% effective because they'll never get the strain for that season 100% correct. Some of the treatments are promising, but there is no one drug that stops a virus. That's why my brother just laughed when they started pushing hydroxychloroquine on the public. He said that is a nasty drug that can do more harm than good. They've had patients go straight into a stroke after being administered the drug. He told me it's ALWAYS a cocktail of drugs that end up being the most effective on these viruses. No one drug. And it takes a LOT of blind tests before it's put on the market. It takes time.

Dr Strangelove-

your brother in law is either an idiot, liar, or misinformed. Hydroxychloroquine is safe in about 99.9% of people that use it. Hundred of thousands use it regularly with no side effects- it’s used to treat lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, as well as in preventing malaria. It does not cause strokes- a very very small percentage of people can get a cardiac arrhythmia and most of those are from taking many times the recommended dose. It does combat Covid 19 and if you don’t believe that, you need to get your head out of the sand. I just got over Covid-19 and am a prime example of the media disinformation. My good buddy is also a pharma salesman and his company doesn’t push hydroxychloroquine because it’s so cheap- meaning not much profit...

There's no proof at all it does anything for Covid. It takes months and months of blind studies to determine if a drug is going to be successful fighting a disease. They haven't had enough time to even come close to those results. Even the most promising drug so far Remdesivir, is doing SOME good in a handful patients, but does nothing for others. It's very difficult finding the right drug with a minimum of life threatening side effects. Hydroxychloroquine is not one of those drugs. They have tried close to 15 different drugs in hospitalized patients. Some have worked, some haven't. But without the blind tests, doctors don't know if those patients would have gotten better anyway after being administered these drugs. It take months and months, and in most cases years to find what is safe AND effective.  https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-cautions-against-use-hydroxychloroquine-or-chloroquine-covid-19-outside-hospital-setting-or

Look man, the evidence hydroxychloroquine is ineffective is greater than the reverse, although I will grant you the data is inconclusive-at least one decent study (your Henry Ford study) has indicated it helps, although I can give you two or three that said reverse. But I'm also aware that (like masks) it has all become politicized, sad as that fact is. It's going to take MANY studies before the FDA (my article) approves it. So far the FDA has revoked emergency approval for the drug. Right now they just don't know exactly how to use these drugs and in what dosages. They are literally flying by the seat of their pants....

Please do, but don't give this one; https://arstechnica.com/science/2020/06/doubt-looms-over-hydroxychloroquine-study-that-halted-global-trials/

Or any other associated with this trio; https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/06/whos-blame-these-three-scientists-are-heart-surgisphere-covid-19-scandal

It is sad that politics stands in the way of saving lives, and I mean from both sides, Repub's and Dem's. If Henry Ford can figure out how to use it, when and what dosage the first time they try it in a study, then why can't the rest of the medical community?

So we use Remdesivir at $3100 a treatment.

I don't need to give you any websites, I've seen the interviews straight from the UK doctors on the front lines who said it was a useless, dangerous drug that caused many different side effects that they had trouble dealing with on top of the virus, from the heart to the liver. This drug is NOT going to be approved by the FDA. And they are already finding success fighting covid with less dangerous drugs. Would I rather spend $3100 for a safe Remdesivir treatment over an unapproved $6 drug? Damn right I would... Same goes for steroids, which is becoming the treatment for patients who have the most serious lung problems. I can personally attest to steroids. A couple years ago I went into respiratory failure with a lung infection after open heart surgery. I was on a respirator and about as close to death as you can get. Their last option was to pump with with a 3 day heavy treatment of steroids and hope it worked. I slowly came out of it after a week on the respirator. Lungs are serious business. You can feel good one day and be close to death the next. I was about ready to leave the hospital when I came down with the lung infection. You just can't throw any drug you want at it because your immune system is too compromised. What works for a semi-healthy malaria patient is MUCH different than a hospitalized covid patient.

No you don't, not in today's world. Donald Trump Jr. tweeted a video he saw that had a group of doctors touting Hydroxychloroquine. The Tweet and video was removed by Twitter and he was suspended 12 hours for tweeting "misinformation". It appears Twitter is a medical expert now. Same with Yahoo. Jake Tapper from CNN recently Tweeted a story on people who said they received Hydroxychloroquine and it helps, no problem. Hmmmm.

So go ahead, DEFLECT to the steroids (Dexamethasone is the steroid used now) and show me absolutely no proof of the drugs dangers other than interviews seen on tv.

By the way, the UK study that said the drug was not working and causing side effects were based on the drug being given to the VERY sick as evidenced by a +23% death rate among plasebo patients and +27% death rate for Hydroxy patients. The Henry Ford study clearly showed giving the drug BEFORE the onset of overreacting immune response was key.

So I agree "a cocktail of drugs" does better, and I believe this drug Hydroxychloroquine does help when used right, and I believe the hysteria over this drug is only there to serve a political party.

I'll stop here and move on.

The data from this study indicate that this drug provided no additional benefit compared to placebo control for the treatment of COVID-19 in hospitalized patients.

Thank you thorpe, nice to see someone taking the time to back up their views/opinions! peace_5

Did notice the NIH study stated; "A data and safety monitoring board (DSMB) met late Friday and determined that while there was no harm, the study drug was very unlikely to be beneficial to hospitalized patients with COVID-19."

Also did not see anywhere that they used Hydroxychloroquine in combination with zinc or the antibiotic azithromycin. My link in post #87 demonstrates how the drug "opens" the virus and zinc or azithromycin is what actually kills it.

The only reason I dwell on this subject is because of the "cancel culture" that is taking over. I don't think this drug is some sort of miracle cure, maybe helpful early on?

The Henry Ford study has been ridiculed for using steroids in their study and claims are the steroids helped, not the drug. Could be true, could be partially true, could be false.

This all started with the Lancet report that had to be retracted due to no accurate data to support it and the UK report where it was tested on the very sick as a last ditch effort with much higher than normal doses. Should back up to when Trump was pushing it, that's when it really all started.

So now today we get mainstream media saying VERY DANGEROUS, don't even think about it. Post it on youtube, instragram, or twitter and watch it get CANCELLED for safety reasons. Yet, the study you posted and the Henry Ford study say "no harm" and no side effects?????? So why all the concern? POLITICS. Fill the American peoples head full of bullshit until they believe it.

If that article I linked in post #87 is true and accurate, we are letting thousands die needlessly in the name of politics. It needs another hard look, IMO, not condemnation.

You can't reason with a CULT MEMBER Strangelove.... "Are you sure this Kool-Aid is safe to drink?....Well, if big Jim says so, it's gotta be OK "!

They will go to great lengths to defend their beloved SUPREME LEADER ha. Witness, Trump's latest desperation move to push hydroxy. - brings in a Nigerian witch doctor (pretty much) to help him....and our pal UNI to get us thru this modern day Twilight Zone.

Her theory- demons visit you in your sleep, and are the root cause of diseases..... “They turn into a woman and then they sleep with the man and collect his sperm,” Immanuel said in her sermon. “Then they turn into the man and they sleep with a man and deposit the sperm and reproduce more of themselves.”

Makes since to me!.... If the GRAND CYCLOPS says so !

Hydroxychloroquine was used early by many doctors early (world wide) ....as a HAIL MARY attempt - gonna die anyway? > let's give it a shot > some people did get better, but as we see now....some actually DO get well. See 'post hoc -ergo propter hoc' composition fallacy.....to blow the fragile Trumpist brain for sure ha. SO, a drowning Trump latched on to this 'life raft'....now is doubling down as he always does.... SIMPLE to see and understand.

HINT : * only 2 drugs are really used currently with any effectiveness (gonna die? > reduce your chances of dying, by about 20% or so) - remdesivir (ant-viral)....dexamethasone (anti-inflammatory / steroid)

             * a patriot in a democracy, serves the country - not the MAN (you Trumpanzee idiots) - that man (in a republic like ours) serves the people , not himself

    * appears I have to go back and EDIT wtf.....then it kinda sorta is less brutal - well, can't type anyway sooooo.

Hope you boys are all doing well. Remember, as always, the answer to your problems as a starting point anyway....is in the MIRROR. Damn sure ain't Trump and his psychopathic brand of crooked mob infested, Kremlin flavored thugocracy ha...

Bad news? although he will help a bit, especially initially, it ain't 90 yr old Biden and the rainbow/unicorn crowd - which is what he will be (forced) to do - moderate to full lib.... as a reaction to current banana republic style regime.

IF, we have any CFB...most guys will give up, AND lines will be really hard to set accurately....creating opportunities for those not afraid to put in some work....kinda like NFL pre-season.

Hope they play some ball this season ,bud. Looking forward to the challenge of trying to

out think the books in a Covid enviornment. Since I use " Kelly " for MM , I need to be

damn sure I can accurately establish " Value " and WP  , and do it better than they do.

Should be interesting . Hope we have a season, It'll be an interesting test.

Wow, sometimes you remind me of Trump. HA. Or maybe BigdaddyQH, combo of both maybe.

First of all I never said I like Trump, rather I have said many times that Shit comes out of his mouth. Too bad the other choice in November is even f-ing worse! You can take all your nonsensical name calling and stick it up your azz. I never got to see that video because someone else decided it was too dangerous for me to do so. WTF?? I'll make my own decisions.

This Stella Immanuel sounds like a real kook and seeing all of them dressed in white lab coats outside of the Supreme Court raises red flags too. LET ME DECIDE, NOT TWITTER, NOT FACEBOOK,NOT YOUTUBE, etc.

This CANCEL SHIT needs to end now!

And you make a good point, Hydroxy was used as "Hail Mary", needs to be used much earlier ---------------STUDIES HAVE SHOWN.

Ah, found and watched the video. Interesting take. SO MUCH MORE THAN THE WITCH DOCTOR. Bet the left extremists punish these docs!

I encourage everyone to watch and form THEIR OWN opinion. Over 30 minutes long, the last speaker, Dr. Joe Ladipo made the most sense, IMO.

Must agree. The current spike appears to have reached it's apex-one can only hope-, but the countries daily death count should remain above 1,000 til at least August 12th-15th.

Good news is; Have not yet seen a single college football athlete in the hospital for complications from this virus despite all the positive tests. But as soon as one player does, it's all over.
