Coronavirus; IMO, the airline industry is the major fault here. How the hell could we let them transport individuals around the globe without any procedures? And they still are! CDC tried to come up with a test for the virus, they failed costing weeks of delayed testing. World Health O. is a joke. 

So THE WHOLE WORLD has that virus now, each country will get their turn. I believe Canada hasn't seen the worst yet, they'll get it. They all will until a vaccine is in use. 60 million Americans had H1N1, how far will COVID get?

Crazy that as bad as things are right now, teams are still moving forward in preparation for a season.  They're gonna give it a go at least, we'll see how long it lasts.....

Projections per IHME that all 50 states will reach their "peak" by December 2020.  Not getting hopes too high for a vaccine.... can't count on that.  My sad, but realistic guess is we'll MAYBE have some sense of normalcy by July 4th next year, and hopefully can have a prep and start to the 2021 season that we're all used to.  Americans are so dumb and unwilling to be socially responsible though that I'm starting to have doubts about that even happening! Stay safe.

My sister has had Lupus for some time now. I was tested and it came back negative. Some time back I visited Lupus.org. When Europe announced they were using Hydroxy and then Trump promoted it I remembered seeing it on the Lupus site as a med. Then that study came out saying it was not any good, actually hurt. UK said same thing. Then the study was retracted as a fraud with no actual data, the study firm was just three doctors, not some clinical research firm. I still thought it was bad at that point. Then heard about Henry Ford conducting two studies, one for COVID infected and the other on front line health workers. Why in the hell would they give this drug to healthy front line workers if it's so bad! The first study is complete, the second pending.

This drug has been around for 60+ years. Hard to believe it causes immediate strokes or is a danger. 

Does it cure COVID? Would have to say NO, absolutely not. Does it help. Have to say it has shown to help in a hospital setting, we need to look further. Is it dangerous? I would say no it is not based on historical data used properly at normal doses. 

Has the media and hatred of our current president tainted the truth. ABSOLUTLEY. 

I won't let hate drive my decision making, rather I look for Truth and Facts. And I call it out when I see mis-truths or what I believe are. 

Back to CFB; I don't see much for CFB this year, the current infection rate shows a slight drop, it needs a lot more, don't see it happening.

Well, a CFB thread quickly devolved into a Trump/anti-Trump fistfight.

The truth: Trump has already won, the outcome of the election is meaningless. He developed a huge marketing demographic, about 45 million strong; email lists, phone numbers, addresses, supporter roles, etc. He'll launch a media network and sell enough books and merch to stick another $billion in the cougher. 

This is usually where I hear the "nuh-uh, he's facing serious criminal charges in New York and will do time when out of office!" News flash...ex-presidents don't do time. Billionaires don't do time.

#2. The belief that "non-whites are inferior". I personally have never had that belief. EVERY MAN is judged BY HIS CHARACTER is my belief. That inferior was a belief many generations ago no doubt, and in the South very much so in the 1960's. MY FATHER AND MOTHER NEVER would let me think that way! My father was a police officer in an integrated city. I remember the 1967 riots. #3. The Environment. I have had a year of college environmental studies. China is trashing the environment like nothing ever seen over here. Everything they put in the air we breath and it rains down on us. If we go Hard Left with this Blinded green movement we will suffer economically, get weaker, and China will be our master, no doubt. And we will still breath what they exhaust. We have to be the stronger! And you do that with REASON, not panic. The REAL, UGLY thing is that there are too many people on this planet for it to support. Nobody likes to talk about that but we are getting there.

When Dem governors began aggressive lockdowns fellow Dems cheered and Repub's said abuse of power. The mask requirement was seen by many as an act of Dem govt. control, still is. Many Americans feel it is THEIR choice. I personally disagree, just like mandatory seat belts the perceived good outweighs the bad. When Michigan's Dem Govnr' said you can go into big box store but flooring and patio area caution taped off-NO ADMITTANCE, WTF is that! You can go out in a boat, but no motor allowed. You can get an abortion, liquior, pot, and lottery, but no church and forget about getting your broken eye glasses fixed. What are the priorities here? Stupid shit like that CREATED A LOT OF DISTRUST. The Netherlands do not require a mask and they're doing pretty good. No dropping flies there. HMMMMM Lockdowns may help slow the virus, doesn't stop it, but the economic impact is very damaging. There are conflicting views here to. I see a balancing act. Total lockdown and virus is slowed the most and people suffer the most economically. No lockdown at all and people die and economy does much better. Has to be a balance. For the most part we see and are doing that.

The vaccine(s) have to go through vigorous testing before approval and it is virus specific, so far 100% immunity reports on at least one. I would be confident they should work upon release unless the virus really mutates dramatically by then, that shouldn't happen.

CEO's don't need to muddy the waters, the health experts have been confused enough with this virus! Know more now than April, their early mistakes create credibility issues and we don't need that, too late now. 

Right now college football is doing everything it can to salvage a season. I like that. Delaying a month, smart move. Not one person under the age of 30 has died in Michigan from COVID, good sign! Not one college player with COVID is reported in the hospital with complications, another good sign! The high positives in Texas, Florida, Arizona, California, appear to be dropping. Another good sign! COVID is more dangerous, no doubt, college age athletes so far doing VERY WELL! 

But all it takes is ONE, one athlete who needs hospitalization and it's all over, IMO. The glass half-empty folks will scream and the media will give it ALL the DOOM and GLOOM needed to shut it down. Yeah, I don't have much hope either.

Your point on China and the environment is one that is ignored by all climate change advocates. It's a good one, and it's the truth. The US could cut all carbon emissions to 0%, cut all industrial waste to 0%, and it still won't matter; unless you're willing to physically shut down Chinese industry, then all US efforts will be nothing but economic suicide. On a side note, I think that future generations may be sold a series of hot wars based on climate change rationale. Desperation brought on by fading resources and overpopulation will eventually reach a crescendo; a socialist leader could capitalize on decades of climate change education and sell the populace that a military stance toward "violators" is appropriate. 

Unfortunately, trying to conduct any sort of honest debate in this country right now is pointless. There's too much emotion involved...no one wants to talk facts. Head on over to the political gambling message boards on predictit.org and check out the craziness. After that, twitter is another great example of hate, anger, and unbridled aggression.

The future doesn't look good for any level-headed individual. Nobody's finding any common ground in the US anytime soon. There will be no compromises from either side and the country will not reunite after the election. Irreconcilable differences...where it stops, I have no idea.

As for any national healing, it's certainly worth a shot. But, I don't see anyone interested in going that route right now. And, honestly, I'm not sure that there is any common ground for my generation (40s) and the youth of this country to reach. Ultimately, two very different ideologies are at play, specifically as they pertain to economics and personal freedom.

The natural progression is for things to blow up, badly, then rebuild in one form or another. Only time will tell how things shake out.
