Iowa State scored 26 points vs Baylor. As you saw last night, the only way Baylor could stop Washington was by the quarters ending. Only Stephen F. Austin and Texas scored less points on Baylor than Iowa State did.
Texas A&M gives up 35 points a game. Iowa mustered 17 on them.
Kansas has the worst defense in college football and Iowa State scored 13 on them.
Oklahoma gives up 22 a game. Iowa State scored 6.
I'm pretty sure there were only 1 or 2 teams on ISU's schedule where they scored more points than what the opposing defense allows per game on average.

Post #9... how could the UConn game have been a letdown game when Rutgers was playing for a chance at a BCS game???
Post #14... Rutgers is awful because they have one of the stupidest QBs i have ever witnessed... the guy is a mental invalid! under no circumstances would i ever bet on a team led by a QB that bad in a bowl game...
Post #16... a pro move is understanding the importance of conference strength when it comes time to bet the Bowls! Big 12 vs. Big East... you can bet on the Big 12 team, or stay away... betting on Rutgers is not a pro move here...
Post #19... key point made here by Shark... Rutgers has respectable defensive stats because they play against teams with horseshit offenses... if you are really buying that they have a great D, you are not looking deeply enough... which again, doesn't come across as a pro move...

Rutgers supposedly have a nice deffense, but any decent teams should have their stats padded against the mediocre teams Rutgers had faced, besides, they just let Uconn rape them, and had allowed tons of pts to superior athletic teams like WVGA, and actually had allowed many pts to everybody, iowa st its not a stellar team either, but what can we expect of a team that faces Baylor,Oksst,OU,Kssst,Texas,TaM, thats a tough schedule,so the clones are far more battle tested, and besides how cant i side with the team that beat Okst, this kids come out and play, and if they do so, it will be a long ugly day for rutgers

1. A let down is human element. When you think you are invincible, you usually aren't - regardless of the stakes. Just ask Nebraska vs Washington in their bowl game, Ohio State vs. Florida in 2007 and more.
2. Valid point. But Rutgers defense is better and will make Iowa State's Joe Montana, oops I mean freshman... look like a freshman. You guys make Iowa State's freshman QB sound like he is Andrew Luck.
3. The public bets on conference vs. conference. The public bets on QBs. I field bets everyday, and before these guys put the bet in I know they are betting on the better conference team or the better QB every time. SEC vs. Big 12. They bet SEC - everytime. SEC is a .500 conf ATS because they are overvalued and I win the juice. That's not how you bet. Each game has matchups. Trends get broken every day. I guess the MAC being 0-100 in bowl games lately meant I should have faded Temple this bowl season right? Would have been a "pro" move. MAC vs Mountain West. Mountain West everytime. Please don't lecture me on square ideals and tell me what the pro moves are. I've been doing this for almost 20 years.
4. How do you know how deeply I have looked into Rutgers defense? Maybe I have broken their defense down for the past 6 years at the professional level. Maybe Mel Kiper is my ugly nephew. You are assuming too much when you really don't know how much I've broken them down. You simply think Rutgers defense isn't good because of the offenses they have played. Wow. There's some in depth research. I can't believe I never thought of that.

I never brought it up. I gave 3 sentences of my background and am getting challenged every 5 seconds and I am answering the posts. I'm just sharing plays with a brief reason why.
