Agree UF got a gift and Bama and the Gators both have weaknesses.. but UT is just not a top 3 team.

The way to beat UT is to shut down Shipley- - How many catches did Shipley have in the second half? I believe it was 0.. and A&M was in the game in the 4th because of it.  They have no run game, 1 WR and yea- top rush D in nation- when their toughest opponents Kansas and Tech throw it 79 times per game.. real tough to stop the run when no teams really run first..

My point is, A&M had multiple opportunities to win that game and probably should have won outright..

No, Arkansas did not handle them in that game man. Watch it again, UF turned it over FIVE times and missed a chip shot FG. The defense played INCREDIBLE being on the field that long. You cannot turn the ball over that many times and win a game and ESPECIALLY against an outstanding offense like Arkansas has. The Defense is what wins games when you have bad days offensively and thats what sets Bama and the Gators apart from every single other team.

You cant sit there and tell me that Texas plays great teams in the big 12.. Im sorry but there is no defense as a whole in that conference and it has been that way.

I hate Texas, Florida, and Alabama!.......Sorry just had to get that out. My team WILL be back and when they do youll all know it!...

 

I tend to agree with ya here. Big 12 football is all about throwing for 450 yrds and putting up 50-60 pts. if Texas meets either Florida or Alabama they will struggle bad.....maybe very very bad!

They will put up a few TD's but they will easily give up at least 4 or more because Texas cant handle the power run attack mixed with the pass and balance..

 

not just that but SEC ( im assuming youre talking about florida and bama) is just way faster. an aggressive and speedy defense will give colt and co fits. florida and bama will not give mccoy 5 seconds in the pocket to wait for shipley to eat a sandwhich and jog down the sideline. nope wont happen.

Let's call a spade a spade here.  Anyone who watched that game knows that Texas would be - at best - a 7 & 4 team in the SEC. Everyone with half a brain knows - just like last year - the real national championship game IS the SEC Championship game.  Florida and Bama are far better than the rest of the teams in the country - hands down - and the reason is defense.  I don't care what the stats are, Bama has the best defense in the country, and the Gators are a very close 2nd.  A team like Texas would be lucky to score in the DD against either of them.  To think that any team playing the SEC champs has any legitimate shot of winning is patently absurd!!!

I respectfully disagree.  That team is not gear to play power football on either side of the ball.  A&M beat them in the trenches all night long!!!

If they played in the SEC West they would lose to Bama, Arky & Ole' Miss for sure.  They would probably lose to LSU if someone locked the village idiot in a closet for the duration of the game.  On top of that they would have to play 3 random teams in the East where they would lose to Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina if they drew any of those teams on their schedule.  Texas would be at best a 4 & 4 team in the SEC IMHO.

It goes way beyond one bad game.  Texas was dominated in the trenches by aTm!!!  There is no way they hold up to a SEC team for 60 minutes

Big 12 pretty much sucks, but Texas could play and beat anyone is SEC...could lose to Florida, Bama and maybe Ole Miss....

TCU is the best team in land this year....would beat all above teams...

our defense played its worst game of the year on 3 days rest and on the road in a rivalry game.  they looked tired and half speed all game except Thomas.  Johnson played the game of his life and still lost.  

Alabama isn't built to get behind and make a comeback offensively at all....
