Eagles@Bears discussion

No play for me tonight. A lot of unknown factors are gonna be in play, especially at QB.

Most importantly, the escape ability of Caleb Williams will not be present tonight. Case Keenum's escape ability couldn't be further from Caleb's. So he will absolutely have to get off quick passes from the pocket. 

From an o line perspective for the Bears, they earn their $ run blocking. The right side with Jonah Jackson and Darnell Wright might be the best in football. This year, their obvious weak spots are center, and left tackle. I think that Jordan Davis at nose tackle will be a big problem. 

LG Joe Thunney is really good, but he got his ass handed to him by Caleb Banks of the Vikings in week 2. I feel that Thunney sandwiched between Braxton Jones and Garrett Bradbury is mitigating his overall talent. It's a much different situation than last year when he had Ozzy Trapillo and Drew Dalman next to him.

Jalen Carter enters the conversation here. If you guys remember the Bears passed on him in the draft, he could still have some bad feelings towards them. If Caleb Banks can have his way with Thunney, I don't see why Jalen Carter couldn't. Especially with Jordan Davis who should be able to work Bradbury at center, double teamed or not.

Last week Bradbury had a terrible game, committing 4 penalties vs the Vikings in the 1H.

On the flip side, the Bears d line doesn't scare anyone. In the run game allowing 2.5 yards before contact,  and a lowly 4.5% rush stuff rate. They been middle of the pack in no blitz pressure rate. Not so much against Bryce Young in week 1, but against a statue like Carson Wentz, in the rain, they looked a little better.

The Eagles have done some shuffling on the line since Landen Dickerson got hurt. Drew Kendal made his first start at center last week, and had to face Jeffrey Simmons. That's a tough task. Overall reports said he he did a decent job. It was Cam Jurgens who had a tough day, he had to slide over to LG.

With a full week of practice and an extra day, you could think they get a bit more comfortable. From my eyes, there's no one on the Bears d line that posses a threat. The Eagles Tackles in Jordan Maialata and Lane Johnson should have no problem against what could be the worst DE combo in the league. 

I'll end it there with the trenches, that's where it all starts. And let you guys discuss the rest.

One last thought though. From a bird's eye view, don't forget that this is indeed Jalen Hurts vs a 3rd string QB. If my memory serves par, this is the kind of game where the # might not mean shit. The books move it accordingly to the replacement, and in this case the replacement to the replacement. And as much flack and hate Hurts gets, the dude consistently wins. He rarely makes bad plays, he plays smart. The Eagles can always make it look ugly as well, their games never seem to go smoothly. 

Gun to head I'd be betting the Eagles here, but will sit on the sidelines tonight. 

Since the league frowns on teams playing defense,i'll take the over.

It’s feeling like one of those “don’t get cute, just take the eagles” kind of games, but it’s still spooky. Doubt we see any homer shenanigans after last night, but who knows. 
Think there’s a chance we get more Bagent than the bears are letting on too. I lean in the direction of eagles winning comfortably - I think their results against mediocre to bad teams already this year are scaring some people away 

The Bears were the favorite in future lines vs Eagles when Caleb was the starter, I believe it was Bears -1.5. Now a 3rd stringer is +3.5, line is right. It's a MNF game or this line could be as high as Eagles -5.5. I don't like this game so I'm sitting the sidelines as well.

Eagles lost at home last season to chi and almost gave up 300 yards rushing— I like the bounce back tonight.

 i feel like this spread is way too low. ima go against the grain and be one of few who will be taking the bears. i think the spread dropped too (like a point) in past 2 days

Run, run, run against that Eagles front until they can stop it! 

Monogai and Swift all day 

Bears offense begins with the ability to run the ball. They have two great RBs with Swift and Monangai and Caleb also accounts for a lot of the Bears rushing 15 att for 107 yards 2Tds this season so it’s a big loss not to have him for this game especially against the Eagles Dline.. personally I believe that Ben Johnson is good enough to make things competitive even with Case Keenum.. there’s going to be a lot of run game to make Case comfortable hopefully they can take some play action shots down the field..

The good thing for the Bears is the Eagles offense doesn’t look explosive anymore.. Devante smith can have some splash plays here and there but to me is a #2 receiver he’s not a #1..Dontaveon Wicks is a decent addition he has talent.. Goedert being out doesn’t help Jalen Hurts.. teams are able to stack the box and slow down Barkley.. 

this game is going to be a trench game battle..can the Bears Oline protect just enough to have some success with the run game versus Eagles ferocious Dline.. and can the Bears Dline slow down the Eagles run game and force them to be one dimensional placing more pressure on Jalen Hurts to actually show he is a good quarterback.. I will give the Eagles credit.. 3rd down conversions seem to be there knack.. bears need to be able to shut down the 3rd downs and force punts..

I lost on Chicago when Williams got injured.  It was a whole different team after that.  Flat out sux. 

Philly 0-2 against the spread 

Philly wins if they take a good lead n then play kill clock technique.  

Philly is still America's favorite, not these bears.  America got burned on the wams last night and will Vegas trap for the home run? 

It'll be an embarrassment to the Philly squads if they lose to a no QB team.  

Then again, it's the only game tonight so still on any given Sunday style they said.  Weather will not be a factor.  Hurts n sequan vs the rest of these bears.  They got talent but up to the QB to make magic happens.  Maybe they can lose out this year n pick high to get Williams some pass protection. 

Oh yea that's right I forgot about Goedert. Looking like a Saquon game too. Lot of running tonight

In Nick Siriani and Jalen Hurts era, the Eagles are 6-0 when Shawn Hochuli is officiating and yes he will be the head official tonight. 3-2-1 ATS and when the Eagles are short favorites by 3pts they are 2-0. Another angle on the head official is the game total, Hochuli is famously a friend to "Under" bettors. In his head-refereeing career, he is 74–55–2 toward the Under.

I took a shot on Bears +4.5 and now the line keeps on dropping, I see 3.0 on Fanatics. Do you think this will close at 2.5? I think the Eagles will come out flat start of the game and bears will be charging hot with their run game. On paper Eagles really is the play here but I dont understand why keeps the line dropping down from 4.5 to 3.0 and possibly a 2.5 by start time?

Bears have been shitted on by the refs for a good while now, nice to see a stat that reaffirms what I've seen with my own two eyes. 

So that’s a valid point. The Bears are saying they want to start Keenum and likely for two reasons. Keenum took the first team reps all week in practice and maybe they’re concerned with Bagent’s health depending on the severity of the concussion situation. But the question is if Keenum struggles will they bring in Bagent? Because the mobility of Bagent is an entirely different problem for the Eagles defense to solve. Definitely too many variables at play in this game for me. 

The key here in my view is whether Chicago's DLine maintains lane discipline when rushing and keeps Hurts from getting outside. Hurts hasn't had a lot of time to throw and/or receivers don't get open or have time to get open and sometimes he doesn't give his receivers a chance and starts scrambling. I still see the Bears coming to Philly and demolishing us with 300 rushing yards.

Eagles got man handled in the trenches vs the bears last year. I gotta believe that's on their minds. With the rams losing, the eagles also know, while early, they can still take a 2gm lead on the rams for HF down the line.  I don't see the eagles messing around here.  I see a big game for saquon, if the bears are letting up 2.5yds b4 contact, that's bad news going vs saquon. The last time keenum started was vs philly in the playoffs, while with thr Vikings, abd he couldn't get away from their pressure. It's birds for me, and i rarely play them.
