The SEC is 7-0 in the BCS championship.
All the other conferences are a combined 5-12.
That’s why they get the benefit of the doubt, as they should.
If you take away the garbage TD scored with about 10 seconds left in the game #3 Oregon lost to #4 LSU 40-20.
#3 OU got beat SU at home as a 30 point favorite to unranked Texas Tech.
#2 Alabama lost by 3 points to #1 LSU in overtime.
Do you really need an explanation why Bama didn’t drop as far as Oregon or OU?
Also just for a comparison: #2 Michigan dropped to #3 after they lost to #1 Ohio State.

It was funny just 5 years after the showdown in Columbus the entire world (sans SEC nation and pundits) called for a rematch of Michigan and Ohio State. Michigan remained #2 after USC lost to UCLA. Then the worldwind of Urban Meyer crying publically clearing stating at times "If you dont win your conference title you should not make the NC game"...."Michigan lost...its time to give another team a chance"
Tommy Tuberville as well as Les Miles made the same rallying cries for their conference. Now 5 years later a rematch is in tow? I dont think so. In the words of Meyer....Alabama did not win the conference and they also had their chance, its time for another team/conference champ to take its shot at LSU. I would very much like to see OU/LSU...Okie State would get its doors blown off because they play ZERO defense. Stanford which is a great team lacks the overall speed and athletiscm.
I really dont care for Oregon LSU rematch because if Oregon wins..everyone will say it well its 1-1 on the season. It will also show that early season wins in mega conferences showdown obviously dont count for much leaving teams to stop considering those types of matchups in the future.

how in the hell did Georgia avoid LSU AND Bama??
does their AD make the SEC schedule???

Georgia is, IMO, at best the 5th best team in the SEC.
They also play the easiest SEC schedule. They are the only team to avoid playing LSU, Bama, and Arkansas. If those 3 teams were on their schedule they’d probably be looking at a 7-5 season.

Quite a few “ifs” and “buts" in that post.
Also who gives a shit about Stanford beating Virginia Tech LAST SEASON?
Oregon was a very good team and Auburn was only favored by a point. Who cares that they only by 3? They won the game and they covered. The better team won. Deal with it.
Also only Oregon fans or people that lost more money than they could afford to lose think Dyer was down. Replay clearly showed that he wasn’t.

I just got finished reading one of the more idiotic responses as to why UA should get a rematch that I have ever read. A poster named Tappy's whole argument was because UA played LSU the closest out of anyone this year they have proven they are #2 in the country.
So a team that missed 4 Fgs, was held without a TD at home, and couldnt put together 1 decent scoring drive AT HOME has proven to the world they are 2nd best. Because they all beat the #1 team. With that logic...any team that beats the #1 team would automatically be #1 then? I just cannot with some people today...I just cant. Im leaving to go workout and cash my cashier's check from last weekend.

Just because the SEC has the best teams overall doesn't mean they have the best teams.
There are at least 3 teams outside the SEC that are better than LSU.

Cornholio-
Guess you forgot LSU had suspended players as well for the Oregon game. And i hate Auburn but Dyer was not down and reply clearly showed that. Oregon lost- deal with it.
1969USC-
Please name me three teams outside the SEC that are better than LSU?

The SEC team that beat them in their own house.
