Its ridiculous that you say you buy points from local book. Getting points are at a premium at the local bookie % Do you think a local bookie can balance the bets like vegas? Trust me I know local bookies! such a fraud in this idiot here!!! I could go on but wont unveil much of what goes on. Your not buying points everyday without hurting your pocket!

some ppl buy points and lay the -150 juice. it happens. and if you're 50/50 then juice will kill ya.
IF you buy 2 pts on every bet (150/100) and lose 28 bets it's - $4200... 60 wins is + $6000.. he's ahead.
I worked at a "private shop" for 5 yrs that had about 150 players during basketball season (350 fball/75 in mlb).
our guy's motto was 'Take the play'.. he wanted the volume. we took plays sometimes minutes AFter a gm started.
nowadays the computers shut the game down even tho you can see it hasn't started yet.. I hate that.
and while there were a few sharp individuals that made a lil $$, every wk he was collecting from 50+ ppl and paying out less than 10
we used the 'real line' until we were buried on a game, then maybe moved a half (rarely a full point) to the "dodos", aka the regular-type players.
99% of the time we gave the sharps the real line even if we were buried. books don't 'move the line' to create balance and live off the juice..
maybe small timers do if they've only got a dozen players, but otherwise it's a misconception.
for whatever reason, the house never had a losing week.. there were wks we only won 10k or so (and he'd be pissed lol).
I swear on a stack of Bibles.
losing days sure... weeks, no. fact.
