Holly Holm will be denied the belt once more on Saturday.

Stephanie Han aims to make it two in a row against Holly Holm when the pair face off for the second time in five months in our featured boxing attraction of the weekend.

Han is a  -425 favorite, and Holm is a +300 underdog. This may be Holm’s last chance at winning a world title after falling short in January, but my Stephanie Han vs. Holly Holm predictions don't see that happening.

Han vs Holm prediction and pick

Fight analysis
I made the critical error the first time around picking Holm, relying on sentimentality instead of reason and logistics.

What I thought would happen was that Holm — who has won titles in boxing and MMA — would be too good and crafty for the relatively unknown Han, returning to boxing with a title-winning effort.

Instead, Holm looked every bit her 44 years, being slow to the draw and getting worked over until an accidental clash of heads resulted in Han winning a lopsided technical decision.

The controversial nature of the ending was enough to justify a rematch, which wouldn’t have been the case had the fight been allowed to continue.

Holm had one decent round where she managed to get some offense in as Han regrouped, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide of the fight ahead of its abrupt conclusion.

Maybe Holm will do better this time around after shaking off the ring rust, but she’s aged to the point where her best chance of victory relies on landing a single debilitating shot, which Han absorbed and kept coming.

Han doesn’t have to change her game plan after seeing what Holm had to offer. She can dictate the fight with her handspeed and volume, forcing her opponent to defend and backing her up as the veteran loads up to take a shot.

Had the headbutt-induced stoppage not ended things early, Holm was well on her way to a conclusive loss. Han’s conditioning and output created problems Holm couldn’t solve the first time, so the only change that’s being made is I’m firmly siding with the champ to retain.

Best best analysis
Han already proved she could take the best of whatever Holm had left and was well on her way to a one-sided decision win, which she got anyway.

Holm might try to open up earlier, knowing she won’t be able to outbox her younger opponent, but she’ll get outworked and outpointed while loading up for that one big punch.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Han was the busier and more effective fighter, winning six of the seven rounds on two scorecards and five on the other in the first match.
