My England vs Norway props and goalscorer predictions
Harry Kane anytime goal scorer
Harry Kane continues to lead England's attack with the composure and clinical finishing that have defined his career. The captain has scored six goals in six World Cup appearances, and with England playing a more adventurous brand of football in the knockout stage, he's receiving plenty of service in dangerous areas.
Norway deserve plenty of credit for reaching the quarterfinals, but they've conceded in every match they've played this tournament. Against an England side loaded with creators, Kane should once again find himself on the end of multiple quality chances. At an implied probability of 50%, I'm happy backing England's all-time leading scorer to find the back of the net.
Erling Haaland anytime goal scorer
Erling Haaland has been nothing short of sensational throughout this World Cup. Norway's superstar has scored seven goals in just four appearances, and every attack is designed to get him touches inside the penalty area.
England's back line has looked vulnerable at times, conceding three goals across its two knockout matches. That's an encouraging matchup for Haaland, whose combination of power, movement, and finishing ability makes him one of the most difficult strikers in world football to contain. If Norway are to spring another upset, Haaland will almost certainly have a say.
Andreas Schjelderup to start
One of the more intriguing markets available is whether Andreas Schjelderup earns a place in Norway's starting XI. The Benfica winger came off the bench against Brazil and completely changed the match, setting up both goals in Norway's stunning Round of 16 victory.
Antonio Nusa has started throughout the tournament, but Schjelderup's impact makes this a genuine selection dilemma for manager Stale Solbakken. Given his performance in the previous round and the different challenge England presents defensively, I believe his chances of starting are significantly better than the market's implied 25%.
