With a strong recent record at Coca-Cola Coliseum, don't expect the Tempo to back down against Paige Bueckers & Co. today.

The Dallas Wings are fighting to make strides in Year 2 of the Paige Bueckers era, but they’ll get nothing easy today against the Toronto Tempo.

It’s the first-ever meeting between these two teams, and my Wings vs. Tempo predictions back a rested Toronto squad to hang with Dallas, who enters as a -205 favorite.

Read on for my free WNBA picks and betting tips ahead of this July 5 matchup at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

Wings vs Tempo prediction

Wings vs Tempo best bet: Tempo +5.5 (-110)

The Toronto Tempo start the day just outside the playoff spots, but they feel like live home underdogs against the Dallas Wings today. I’m taking the points with Sandy Brondello’s squad, especially with Marina Mabrey fresh off a 53-point clinic in her last outing.

The Tempo have covered the spread in three of their last four contests, while the Wings are 1-5 ATS in their past six games and barely outlasted the 4-16 Connecticut Sun on Thursday.

I trust a Toronto offense that’s averaging 90.8 points per game to show up, and I’d bet this up to -4.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Despite the Wings’ solid 12-8 record this season, you have to go back to June 5 for the last time they won a road game by more than three points.

Wings vs Tempo same-game parlay

The Tempo have won four of their last five games at Coca-Cola Coliseum, and Sandy Brondello’s squad brings impressive depth.

That’ll be key here with Brittney Sykes and Kiki Rice ruled out, but Julie Allemand can thrive in a bigger role, and she’s breezed past this combo O/U number in her last two games, including a 13-point, 14-assist effort against the Sparks.

With talented bucket-getters on both rosters, I’ll take the Over, which is 13-6 for Toronto this year. Buckle up for a fast-paced shootout, with Dallas jacking up the most FGA per game in the league.

Wings vs Tempo SGP

  • Tempo +5.5
  • Julie Allemand Over 13.5 points + assists
  • Over 184.5

Wings vs Tempo player prop pick

Paige Bueckers Over 21.5 points (-120)

Paige Bueckers has been on a roll over the past few weeks, and she’s dropped 25+ points in four straight contests while shooting 58% from the field in that span.

With Arike Ogunbowale struggling badly in her last four outings, Bueckers has soaked up more of the Dallas offense, and I see that continuing this afternoon.

The Tempo are giving up 91.9 ppg this season, the second-most in the WNBA, and Bueckers shouldn’t see much resistance here given Toronto’s depleted perimeter defense.
