The Dallas Wings' frontcourt lacks size, which makes forward Jessica Shepard the "center" of attention.

The Dallas Wings bring a three-game winning streak with them to Tinsel Town but face the Los Angeles Sparks with bodies missing under the basket.

Dallas will be without key reserve Awak Kuier and likely down center Li Yueru, which puts added emphasis on Jessica Shepard.

My Wings vs. Sparks predictions see a soft spot in Shepard’s prop odds and my WNBA picks take the 6-foot-4 forward to top her scoring total on June 5.

Wings vs Sparks prediction

Wings vs Sparks best bet: Jessica Shepard Over 11.5 points (-110)

Jessica Shepard scored just nine points in Monday’s blowout over Seattle. However, she logged a season-low 23 minutes as the Dallas Wings turned to their bench in the second half.

Shepard will get her usual floor time tonight (31 minutes), especially with the frontcourt running thin.

She’s scoring the seventh most points in the paint and faces a Los Angeles Sparks team hemorrhaging the fourth most PITP to opponents while giving up plenty of offensive rebounds.

Shepard’s scoring total remains at a modest 11.5 O/U. She’s posted 12 or more points in five of her nine games, and projections sit closer to 14 points.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Jessica Shepard is one of just three players averaging a double-double, including 2.8 offensive rebounds per game. Los Angeles allows 9.3 offensive rebounds per game (fourth most) and more than 11 second-chance points.

Wings vs Sparks same-game parlay

The Wings ride a three-game winning streak into tonight and have looked like one of the best two-way teams in the WNBA while doing it.

Dallas was as big as -4.5 on the opening line, but Kelsey Plum’s return has trimmed that to -1.5. I’m buying into the new-look Wings, who are finding other ways to win games outside of scoring a ton of points.

Plum’s return also pumped up this total to 178.5 points. Dallas’ defensive rating has improved from 108.2 to a miserly 93.2 in the past three games, despite facing offensive powers like Las Vegas and New York.

The big adjustment has been limiting high-percentage looks, with FGAs in the restricted area dropping by almost five per game in this stretch.

Before a light workout against Seattle, Shepard put up a career game against the Aces. That triple-double included 22 points on 8-for-13 shooting. She’s getting more comfortable with her new teammates, and game models call for 10+ FGAs and almost 14 points versus Los Angeles.
