Kingston, Ontario native Aaliyah Edwards is back on Canadian soil tonight as the Sun take on the Toronto Tempo.

Edwards shook off a concussion on Monday to log season-high minutes, and with Connecticut short-handed upfront, her workload is secure.

Look for the 6-foot-3 forward to crush it on the glass — our Sun vs. Tempo predictions are backing her to exploit an undersized Toronto frontcourt.

Sun vs Tempo prediction

Sun vs Tempo best bet: Aaliyah Edwards Over 5.5 rebounds (+110)

Aaliyah Edwards wasn’t restricted in her return, recording 15 points and five rebounds in 28 minutes versus New York. The Connecticut Sun will continue to rely on her, especially with star power missing from the frontcourt.

Edwards is averaging just four rebounds over seven games, but plenty of those came against foes near the bottom in pace rating. The Toronto Tempo, on the other hand, have lived up to their nickname, especially at home.

Toronto is still without center Temi Fagbenle and is ranked 13th in rebound rate. Given the matchup, Edwards snatches 6+ boards with projections sitting as high as 7.2 rebounds.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Five of Edwards’ seven appearances have come against offenses ranked 10th or slower in WNBA pace rating. Toronto runs the third fastest pace on its home court, meaning more possessions and FGAs that lead to rebounding chances.

Sun vs Tempo same-game parlay

The Sun have made money for bettors thanks to some sizable spreads, covering in three of their last four while getting plenty of points.

Toronto plays its best ball at home, but this 8-point spread is a big ask, considering the Tempo are missing Kiki Rice. If Brittney Griner returns, Connecticut has the interior size to exploit the soft Toronto defense that hemorrhages points in the paint.

Meanwhile, the Tempo flip a switch in Toronto, with the defensive rating going from 15th on the road to No. 1 at home. The Sun are offensively challenged no matter the venue, and with both sides missing firepower — Rice and Aneesah Morrow — this could be a bit of a rock fight.
