What’s a great game without a little drama? When it comes to rivalries in women’s basketball, nothing tops Angel Reese vs. Caitlin Clark. Their clash started in college and is now lighting up the WNBA. The intensity is real—and so are the betting opportunities.

Can Reese and the Sky hold their own on the road, or will Clark and the Fever dominate at home? I’m breaking down the spread, total, and two player props I’m targeting in my Sky vs. Fever betting predictions and WNBA picks. Let’s cash in on this must-watch matchup.

Sky vs Fever predictions

My Sky vs Fever best bet: Over 168.5 (-110 at bet365)

I like the Indiana Fever to win and cover in their season opener at home, but that doesn’t mean that I think the Chicago Sky is falling. Just the opposite, in fact. Chicago ranked 11th in points per game last season at just 77.4 and 11th in offensive rating at 97. The Sky should see an uptick in scoring and offensive efficiency. The offseason signings of Ariel Atkins and former Sky champion Courtney Vandersloot add experience and IQ which should lead to improvements on offense.

Indiana sports a talented core headlined by a pair of No. 1 overall picks in Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston and some quality scoring options in Kelsey Mitchell and Natasha Howard. Indiana finished with the third-most points per game last season at 85, and the team ranked second in pace, fifth in made three-pointers, third in three-point percentage and first in field goal percentage.

Both teams finished in the bottom five in points per game allowed and opponent FG%. The Sky hit the Over only 19 times in 2024, but the Fever did so 27 times. The two teams combined for just 141 points in their first matchup last season, but they posted 181, 175 and 174 points across their last three, hitting the Over each time.

Indiana’s electric offense led by Caitlin Clark is sure to put up plenty of points on the Sky, and Chicago’s new-look offense should offer an improved product from a season ago. I’m taking the Over here.

Caitlin Clark pick: Clark to Go Above & Beyond

My best bet
Caitlin Clark Over 35.5 points, rebounds, assists (-125 via bet365)

My analysis
Clark enjoyed a productive rookie campaign, averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 boards and 8.4 dimes, good for 33.3 PRA. She was even more productive across four meetings with the Sky, posting 20.5 points, 6.5 boards and 10 assists, good for 37 PRA.

Clark averaged 35.6 PRA at home and 31.2 on the road as a rookie, hitting the Over on this line in 12 of 20 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. She hit the Over on this combo line in three of four matchups with the Sky, and I expect her to be energized for this marquee matchup in the season opener.

Sky vs Fever same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 168.5

Fever -8

Angel Reese 13+ rebounds

The Fever went 3-1 against the Sky last season, winning their matchups by 8, 12, and 1 points. Indiana went 4-0 ATS when facing Chicago, and I expect that four-game streak to get extended to five. The Sky finished with the second-worst ATS record in the W last season at 16-24, and while offseason additions should certainly help make the team more competitive, the Fever have too much firepower, creating a mismatch that should lead to a comfortable Indiana victory at home.

Angel Reese led the W in rebounds per game last season at a whopping 13.1 as a rookie. She grabbed 12.9 at home and 13.3 on the road. Reese pulled down at least 13 boards in 18 of 34 games, including three of four against Indiana and both matchups at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Reese’s rebounding line is set at 13.5 for plus-money odds, but I prefer this safer wager for just a rebound less to include in our three-leg parlay.
