The Minnesota Lynx continue their road trip today with a matchup at Wintrust Arena to face the surging Chicago Sky.
My Lynx vs. Sky predictions expect the home team to keep it close behind another strong performance from Angel Reese.
Let's take a deep dive into my WNBA picks for Saturday, July 12.
Lynx vs Sky predictions
My Lynx vs Sky best bet: Angel Reese Over 12.5 rebounds (-130 via bet365)
For the second straight season, Angel Reese leads the W in rebounds per game and total rebounds, pacing the league with 12.8 per tilt.
With 244 total rebounds, she’s far ahead of the pack and on pace to comfortably break the single-season rebound record which she came one rebound shy of tying as a rookie.
Reese has been the catalyst for the Chicago Sky’s recent streak of competitiveness, and she’s averaged 16.1 boards across her last seven. In that span, Chicago’s star forward has pulled down at least 13 rebounds six times.
She’s recorded 13 or more rebounds in nine of 19 games overall this season, including 17 against the Minnesota Lynx on July 6. Reese’s success against Minnesota wasn’t a one-off. She pulled down 19 and 16 rebounds in two matchups with the Lynx last season.
Minnesota is tied with Chicago for fourth-most rebounds allowed over the last seven games at 35.1. That includes 8.7 offensive rebounds per game. Reese is averaging 4.1 offensive boards this season, and she’s averaged 6.3 per game across her last three matchups with Minnesota.
I expect her to stay strong on the glass against the Lynx at home today.
Lynx vs Sky same-game parlay (SGP)
Chicago is just 6-13 on the season, but the Sky have played competitive basketball as of late. The team has covered in seven straight heading into Saturday’s matchup with the Lynx, and the home team has the momentum in this one.
Minnesota started the season 12-1, but they’re just 6-3 straight up across their last nine. In that span, the Lynx have covered five times.
In the last 10 meetings between the Lynx and Sky, Minnesota is 6-4 but has only one double-digit victory. Chicago kept it close with an 80-75 loss at Minnesota last week, and I expect another close one in Chicago today.
Over the last seven games, the Lynx rank second in offensive rating at 110.4, and the Sky rank fourth at 105.9. In that span, Chicago has scored 84 points per game compared to Minnesota’s 87.7.
Over the last two at home, the Sky have averaged a whopping 92 points, and the Lynx have averaged 86 per game across their last three on the road. Minnesota has hit the Over in two of the last three on the road, and Chicago has done so in three straight at home.
