The Las Vegas Aces extended their win streak to 17 with a convincing 102-77 victory over the Seattle Storm in Sunday’s Game 1. Las Vegas will look to close out the series on the road in Game 2 at Climate Pledge Arena.

My Aces vs. Storm predictions and WNBA picks expect the Aces to cover the modest spread despite productive outings from Gabby Williams and Dominique Malonga.

Aces vs Storm predictions

My Aces vs Storm best bet: Aces -5.5 (-115 at bet365)

The Las Vegas Aces are on a monumental run, and the freight train is rolling down the tracks without any brakes. I certainly don’t expect the Seattle Storm to slow down the Aces’ momentum in a closeout Game 2.

The Aces went gate-to-wire in Game 1, never trailing in the contest and leading by as many as 32 points. Las Vegas was ahead by 20 at halftime and coasted in the second half. The Aces held the advantage in rebounds, steals, blocks, turnovers, 3-pointers made, and shooting percentage.

What can Seattle do to make this a better matchup in Game 2 and force a winner-take-all Game 3 back in Las Vegas? Not much, especially offensively.

The Storm shot 43.7% from the field, 38.9% from beyond the arc, and 72.7% from the charity stripe. Compare that to the team’s 45/34.2/77.1 season splits, and there’s minimal difference. The Storm could do a better job getting to the free-throw line and getting up some more triples, but otherwise, it was a pretty standard night on offense.

On defense, Seattle gave up 102 points, a far cry from the 80.1 they surrendered to opponents in the regular season (fourth-best mark in the W). I expect Seattle to be better on that end of the court at home on Tuesday, but how much better can they be against an Aces team that’s letting it fly from beyond the arc and getting the best out of three-time MVP A’ja Wilson?

The Storm are outmatched here, and I fully expect the Aces to shut down any thoughts of a Game 3. I’ll take the visitors to cover the spread and punch their ticket to the semifinals.

Aces vs Storm same-game parlay (SGP)

Aces -5.5

Gabby Williams Over 10.5 points

Dominique Malonga Over 6.5 rebounds

Gabby Williams averaged 11.6 points per game during the regular season, but she found plenty of success against the Aces, going for 16 points per game in five meetings.

Williams finished with at least 12 points in all five games, including her game-high 16 points in Sunday’s loss. She should continue to be heavily involved in the offensive gameplan on Tuesday, making the Over on her points line a great bet.

Over the first 29 games of the season, Dominique Malonga averaged 3.7 boards across 11.1 minutes per game. Over the last 14 outings, she’s pulled down 7.1 boards in 21.7 minutes while securing seven or more rebounds 10 times.

Over her last two against Vegas, she corralled 11 and 12 rebounds, and I expect another productive night on the glass.
