We’re almost at the halfway mark of the UFL season, and only the Orlando Storm remain perfect at 4-0.
The Dallas Renegades were 3-0 before being upset by Columbus last week, but my Week 5 UFL predictions and free betting picks believe they can bounce back vs. Louisville.

DC Defenders vs Birmingham Stallions
Friday, 8:00 p.m. ET, FOX
| Defenders | Stallions | |
|---|---|---|
| -7 (-110) | Spread | +7 (-110) |
| -270 | Moneyline | +220 |
| 44.5 (-110) | Total | 44.5 (-110) |
Two teams trending in opposite directions kick off Week 5, as the D.C. Defenders, winners of three straight, are in Birmingham to face a Stallions side that’s dropped three in a row.
Reigning UFL Championship MVP Jordan Ta’amu had his best game of the season, throwing for 204 yards and two scores, and he’ll draw a Stallions D that’s allowed the third-most pass yards in the UFL this season.
QB play has been a problem in Birmingham, so the shakeup came midweek, with Matt Corral getting traded for Orlando backup Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Whether it’s DTR or Michael Hiers under center, they’re going against a team that leads the league in sacks while ranking second in forced turnovers and third in tackles for loss.
It’s going to be a rough one for Birmingham fans.
Pick: Defenders -7 (-110 at bet365)
St. Louis Battlehawks vs Orlando Storm
Saturday, 7:00 p.m. ET, ESPN
| Battlehawks | Storm | |
|---|---|---|
| +3 (-110) | Spread | -3 (-110) |
| +135 | Moneyline | -160 |
| 45.5 (-110) | Total | 45.5 (-110) |
The Battlehawks have yo-yo’d all season, alternating wins and losses, and they just dropped a 28-22 decision to D.C. in Week 4.
QB Harrison Frost struggled, throwing for only 144 yards and an INT.
Orlando’s 52 points allowed is the fewest by a mile this season, with only one team within 20 points of them. But they’ve won against a soft schedule, beating one-win teams Louisville (twice), Columbus, and Birmingham.
We’re about to see if Jack Plummers’s second-place rankings in passing yards (854) and TDs (seven) translates against a defense that is second in the UFL with 10 sacks and fourth with 18 tackles for loss.
Pick: Under 45.5 (-110 at bet365)
Columbus Aviators vs Houston Gamblers
Sunday, 12:00 p.m. ET, ABC
| Aviators | Gamblers | |
|---|---|---|
| -3.5 (-110) | Spread | +3.5 (-110) |
| -180 | Moneyline | +155 |
| 45 (-110) | Total | 45 (-110) |
It’s the first of a two-game set between these teams the next two weeks, and it could vault one of these one-win teams into the thick of the postseason picture.
The Aviators are coming off their first franchise win after holding the league’s best offense in Dallas to its lowest point total of the season in a 28-14 upset.
Houston, meanwhile, dropped an OT loss to Louisville for the Kings’ first win of the year.
Columbus loves to run the ball: their 139 rushing yards per game is second in the league, but they’ll be facing the third-best run defense (85.5 yards).
These are the two worst scoring defenses in the league, but they’ve each been gashed in blowout losses to D.C. and Dallas. The offenses will struggle in this one.
Pick: Under 45 (-110 at bet365)
Louisville Kings vs Dallas Renegades
Sunday, 3:00 p.m. ET, ABC
| Kings | Renegades | |
|---|---|---|
| +8 (-110) | Spread | -8 (-110) |
| +310 | Moneyline | -390 |
| 47.5 (-110) | Total | 47.5 (-110) |
After their first franchise win, Louisville shook things up, dealing starting pivot Jason Bean for Mike DiLiello, though Chandler Rogers will get the start in Week 5.
They should be getting the wrecking ball offense of the Renegades that ripped through the first three weeks of the year. Dallas looked fatigued in their loss to Columbus, wrapping up a stretch of three games in 11 days.
Regrouped and rested — they’ll have had nine days off between games — they hold a healthy advantage at QB, where Austin Reed leads the league with 907 passing yards and 11 TDs with only two interceptions.
Dallas’ O-Line will have to be aware of game-wrecker Cam Gill, who leads the league with 5.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss, but this has "bounce back" written all over it.
Pick: Renegades -8 (-110 at bet365)
