St. Louis Battlehawks vs D.C. Defenders

Friday, 8:00 p.m. ET, FOX

 Battlehawks Defenders
-2.5 Spread +2.5
-148 Moneyline +124
Over 42.5 Total Under 42.5

These two teams clinched a spot in the XFL Conference Championship game two weeks ago, but now must face each other in the regular season finale before facing off for high stakes next week. This game still has some stakes though, as the winner will take the XFL Conference regular season title and host the game next weekend.

These two teams met back in Week 3 in St. Louis, and the D.C. Defenders pulled out a 27-15 win, in which they doubled up the Battlehawks in total yardage. They also forced four turnovers and completely shut down the ground game.

That game started a mini-downfall for the Battlehawks, but they bounced back with five straight wins with new quarterback Max Duggan after losing Manny Wilkens, who started this last matchup, for the season.

I will be shocked if the Battlehawks get held to only 45 yards rushing this go-around, but the Defenders had their number on offense as well. This game could go either way, but I will be surprised if there is not a lot of scoring. There were still 42 points in the last matchup despite the complete domination by the Defenders.

Pick: Over 42.5 (-115 at DraftKings)

Houston Roughnecks vs Michigan Panthers

Saturday, 3:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

 Roughnecks Panthers
+2.5 Spread -2.5
+145 Moneyline -175
Over 41.5 Total Under 41.5

These two teams just played two weeks ago, and the Michigan Panthers beat the Houston Roughnecks on the road by a score of 30-18. The final may be a bit misleading though, because the Roughnecks outgained the Panthers 441-254 but had two big turnovers and went 1-for-3 in the red zone.

Bryce Perkins did not play in that contest, but he should be returning to get in a game before the important one next week. It will be nice for him to go up against the seventh-ranked passing defense that is missing several defenders due to injury. Backup Danny Etling was able to put up a 126.3 quarterback rating in the last matchup.

This is a surprisingly low spread here given the likely return of Perkins. There may be a little concern that they pull starters early, but the Panthers still have a shot at hosting the USFL Conference Championship game if they win and the Birmingham Stallions lose.

While that loss is unlikely, they can at least put the pressure on. I will take the Panthers even if they do pull starters and go with Etling in the second half.

Pick: Panthers -2.5 (-118 at DraftKings)

Arlington Renegades vs San Antonio Brahmas

Sunday, 12:00 p.m. ET, ABC

 Renegades Brahmas
-6.5 Spread +6.5
-290 Moneyline +235
Over 41.5 Total Under 41.5

This is the one game this week that has absolutely zero consequences for either team involved.

The Arlington Renegades dominated the San Antonio Brahmas all the way back in Week 1, when we thought the Brahmas might be the best team in the league. How quickly things can change.

Kellen Mond showed signs that he might not be the best quarterback for this Brahmas team, and then they could do nothing to stop either Kalen Ballage or Dae Dae Hunter on the ground. Mond is back to being the starter now with other injuries and Ballage is out for the Renegades. However, Hunter will still be a problem for the Brahmas defense.

The Renegades have been playing excellent offense over the last three weeks and quarterback Luis Perez has been a big reason why. Their defense shut down Mond previously and can do it again. The Brahmas just won’t be able to keep up with the Renegades' scoring.

Pick: Renegades -6.5 (-115 at DraftKings)

Birmingham Stallions vs Memphis Showboats

Sunday, 3:00 p.m. ET, FOX

 Stallions Showboats
-6.5 Spread +6.5
-325 Moneyline +260
Over 39.5 Total Under 39.5

It is completely possible that this game won’t matter to the Stallions if the Panthers lose. However, I'm sure they would love to avenge their earlier loss at home to the Memphis Showboats, 24-20. That was the Stallions' first home loss in two years, and it was one of only two Showboats wins this season.

That game was Dresser Winn’s first as quarterback for the Showboats, and he certainly surprised the Stallions defense by going 17 of 25 for 235 yards and a touchdown with no turnovers. Meanwhile, Case Cookus was mediocre through the air and had only a 45.5% completion percentage.

However, the Stallions have since moved to J’Mar Smith at quarterback, and he has been excellent down the stretch.

The Showboats are going back to Winn at quarterback after he lost his job entering last week. While I don’t expect him to catch the Stallions defense off guard this time, they still have an excellent matchup with Birmingham. They have the best passing defense in the UFL and their struggles stopping the run will not be a problem against one of the worst rushing offenses in the league.

I will take the points with the Showboats here even if they do not win the game.

Pick: Showboats +6.5 (-105 at DraftKings)
