Who will win Fares Ziam vs Axel Sola: Sola (42% Probability)

Fares Ziam vs Axel Sola
Sept. 5 • UFC Fight Night
Fight Prediction
Axel Sola to win (42%)
Trade at Kalshi

Sola brings significantly more activity and finishing upside to an otherwise competitive matchup. He lands 4.50 significant strikes per minute compared to Ziam's 2.68 and has shown he can finish fights both standing and on the mat. At only a 42% probability, I'm backing the busier fighter to score the upset.

Fares Ziam vs Axel Sola top pick: Sola to win (42% Probability)

Fares Ziam vs Axel Sola
Sept. 5 • UFC Fight Night
TOP PICK
Axel Sola to win (42%)
Trade at Kalshi

Sola at 42% is my top pick. Ziam is difficult to hit cleanly, but his low-volume approach leaves him vulnerable to losing rounds when opponents consistently force the action. Sola lands nearly two more significant strikes per minute and possesses considerably more power. He should be the busier fighter and more effective aggressor, which could make all the difference on the scorecards if this fight remains close.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Sola has finished four of his last five victories, including three knockouts and his first-round submission of Ismael Bonfim in July.

Fares Ziam vs Axel Sola prop: Sola by decision (29% Probability)

Fares Ziam vs Axel Sola
Sept. 5 • UFC Fight Night
Prop Pick
Axel Sola by decision (29%)
Trade at Kalshi

Sola by decision is my favorite prop. Ziam is durable and defensively responsible, so I'm not counting on Sola's finishing ability to end this fight early. Instead, Sola's higher activity should become increasingly important over three rounds. If he can consistently initiate exchanges and prevent Ziam from settling into his measured rhythm, Sola can do enough work to bank rounds and earn the upset on the scorecards.

Fares Ziam vs Axel Sola combo

Sept. 5 • UFC Fight Night
Combo
Axel Sola to win
Fight goes the distance
(29% Probability)
Trade at Kalshi

Sola's higher activity gives him a path to winning rounds without requiring a finish. Ziam has never been stopped professionally and is defensively sound enough to keep this competitive, making the 60% distance contract a natural pairing with the Sola upset. If Sola wins a fight that reaches the judges, this combo cashes on the same outcome as the Sola-by-decision market.

Fares Ziam vs Axel Sola odds

Kalshi
Method of Victory Fares Ziam Axel Sola
To win outright 58% 43%
To win by KO/TKO 17% 11%
To win by decision 40% 29%
To win by submission 12% 6%
Fight goes the distance Yes 60%

Odds as of Sept. 4.

Kalshi gives Ziam a slight edge at 58%, but the market strongly favors the judges being involved, with the fight going the distance trading at 60%. Ziam by decision is priced at 40%, while Sola by decision sits at 29%. Given Ziam's durability and Sola's higher activity, the latter is my favorite method-of-victory angle.

Fares Ziam vs Axel Sola tale of the tape

Fares Ziam   Axel Sola
29 Age 28
6-foot-1 Height 6-foot-0
Lightweight Weight class Lightweight
75 inches Reach 74 inches
18-5 Record 12-1-1
6 Wins by KO 6
5 Wins by submission 2

There is little separating these two physically, with Ziam holding only a one-inch advantage in height and reach. Sola's eight finishes in 12 victories give him several ways to turn his higher pace into a decisive moment, but Ziam's durability makes the scorecards a realistic destination. That combination is why I'm siding with Sola's activity rather than relying on him to find a finish.
