Who will win Dan Hooker vs Salahdine Parnasse: Pick (81% Probability)
Casual fans might not be familiar with the name, but make no mistake, Salahdine Parnasse is every bit as advertised. Still only 28 years old, the French fighter is already a two-division champion in Europe and holds an impressive 23-2 record as a pro.
With an equal blend of 8 wins by knockout, seven by submission, and eight by decision, Parnasse is a legit signing for the UFC, and they’re looking to fast-track him by giving him a nice showcase fight in his official debut.
Dan Hooker vs Salahdine Parnasse top pick: Fight to end before round 5 (60% Probability)
Even though Salahdine Parnasse has eight career wins by decision, most of those came early in his career. As of late, he’s been a finishing machine, ending 9 of his last 10 wins inside the distance, with none of them making it to round 5.
His opponent, Dan Hooker, was once a pretty durable competitor, but now 36-years-old, his best days appear to be behind him. The New Zealand-born scrapper enters this fight on a 2-fight losing streak, having been finished in both of those fights in less than two rounds.
To make matters worse, Hooker has been stopped in five of his last six losses, with three of them coming inside of the very first round.
Dan Hooker vs Salahdine Parnasse prop: Parnasse wins by TKO (49% Probability)
Parnasse started his career as more of a submission threat, but over the last number of years, he’s become increasingly comfortable with his striking and seems to prefer the knockouts. He enters this fight on Saturday on a 5-fight win streak, with all five wins coming by way of knockout or TKO.
Hooker went the first 24 fights of his career without ever having been knocked out, but since then, he’s been stopped due to strikes four times and enters this fight having been TKO’d in less than two rounds in his most recent outing.
Parnasse seems likely to end this fight one way or another, but for my money, I’m backing the trend and feel this one is going to be a knockout, much to the delight of the hometown crowd.
Dan Hooker vs Salahdine Parnasse combo
Salahdine Parnasse has eight career decision victories, but that no longer reflects the type of fighter he has become. He has finished nine of his last 10 wins inside the distance, and none of those victories reached the fifth round.
That spells trouble for Dan Hooker, whose durability has started to fade at age 36. The New Zealand veteran enters this matchup on a two-fight losing streak, with both defeats coming by stoppage in less than two rounds.
Hooker went the first 24 fights of his career without suffering a knockout loss, but he has since been stopped by strikes four times. After getting TKO’d inside two rounds in his most recent appearance, he now faces one of the more dangerous finishers of his career.
Dan Hooker vs Salahdine Parnasse odds
| Method of Victory | Dan Hooker | Salahdine Parnasse |
|---|---|---|
| To win outright | 19% | 82% |
| To win by KO/TKO | 10% | 54.7% |
| To win by decision | 7.7% | 14.3% |
| To win by submission | 10% | 25% |
| Total rounds | Over 3.5 33.3% |
Under 3.5 71.4% |
Odds as of 9-4.
As seen above, the Parnasse TKO win is the most likely scenario according to oddsmakers, and I don’t disagree. Submissions have become less popular among fight fans in recent years, and fighters looking to make a statement tend to chase the knockout.
Parnasse, coming off five straight wins by TKO, looks likely to repeat against a version of Hooker that just can’t seem to absorb the same amount of damage he once could.

Dan Hooker vs Salahdine Parnasse tale of the tape
| Dan Hooker | Salahdine Parnasse | |
|---|---|---|
| 36 | Age | 28 |
| 6-foot-0 | Height | 5-foot-10 |
| Lightweight | Weight Class | Lightweight |
| 75.5 inches | Reach | 75.5 inches |
| 24-14 | Record | 23-2 |
| 11 | Wins by KO | 8 |
| 7 | Wins by submission | 7 |
Hooker is going to enjoy a four-inch reach advantage, but the two real stats that stick out the most are the age and record of both fighters. Parnasse is eight-years younger than his opponent, and at 28-years-old, is not even in his physical prime yet.
Hooker, meanwhile, is seemingly a few years removed from his best form at 36. The records also indicate where both men are in their respective careers.
Parnasse shows a sparkling 23-2 record and is being moved along as a future title challenger, while Hooker’s 24-14 record is very reflective of his status as a journeyman on his way out.
