Fight analysis
Caio Borralho had won 16 fights in a row before losing a decision to No. 2 contender Nassourdine Imamov last September.
Meanwhile, Reinier De Ridder is coming off a loss to Brendan Allen when he quit on the stool after the fourth round. He says he overworked his body with four fights in 10 months, and cutting to 185 could be getting too draining for his large frame.
He's taken less than five months off which might not be enough time for him to mentally and physically reset. Don't forget that he also quit in a title fight against Anatoly Malykhin at One Championship two years ago.
De Ridder has excellent BJJ but Borralho has good enough grappling to hang with him on the mat. The Brazilian is also the far better striker while RDR is awkward and slow in the standup. As long as Borralho can avoid clinch positions and knees up the middle, he'll win.
Best bet analysis
Six of Borralho's last eight fights have gone to the judges cards. The only exceptions were a KO versus chinny Paul Craig and a submission against Michał Oleksiejczuk who is notoriously weak on the ground.
Unless he lands a big knee, de Ridder doesn't hit hard enough to pick up a KO/TKO. His path to a finish lies in his submission skills but Borralho is a BJJ black belt with excellent defensive grappling and the ability to reverse positions.
