Marc-Andre Barriault vs Eryk Anders betting preview
Neither of these middleweights come into this scrap in particularly good form. Marc-Andre Barriault has lost two of his past four fights while Eryk Anders has lost two of his past three.
After a troubling start to his UFC career, Barriault saw himself 0-3 in the promotion with an additional no contest. However, after those four fights, he started to turn his career around, winning four of his past six fights.
As a betting favorite, Barriault is 4-1 in his career. Meanwhile, Anders is just 1-5 as an underdog.
Anders has had, in a way, an opposite career path than Barriault. He started to gain some real steam after starting 3-1 in the UFC promotion, but is just 4-6 since then with an additional no contest.
Both guys are similar builds, while Anders sports a southpaw stance against Barriault’s orthodox.

Marc-Andre Barriault vs Eryk Anders UFC prediction and best bet
Fight prediction: Barriault ML
While neither of these guys have been world-beaters, they are still generally trending in different directions. Possessing a three-year gap, the younger Barriault has seen the better half of his career more recently while Anders continues to just cling on to his UFC contract.
A former linebacker at the University of Alabama, Anders has transitioned nicely into a well-rounded fighter. He can box, kickbox, grapple and wrestle.
While his athleticism/strength is his greatest asset, you can’t overlook the fact that he is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. However, while Anders is well-rounded and decent at everything, he’s not great at anything.
He’s a below-average striker with some solid power, but he also takes a lot of damage. While he can grapple, he possesses a mere 26% takedown accuracy and only boasts one professional submission victory.
Meanwhile, Barriault is a very clean striker who will definitely prefer to keep this fight on his feet. Since joining the UFC, he has landed 5.9 significant strikes per minute.
Boasting a 62% takedown defense, he should be able to stuff Anders’ takedown attempts and out-duel him on foot.
Prediction: Barriault moneyline (-143 at BetRivers)
Fight best bet: Pick
Barriault moneyline at –143 is certainly not a bad play to make, and I do like that number, but the best value on the board for this scrap is Barriault to win by decision at +185. It will be interesting to see what direction this fight takes, although I imagine we see some action both standing and on the mat.
With that said, Barriault will work to keep this standing, and should be successful in doing so considering his 63% takedown defense and Anders’ mere 26% takedown accuracy. If it stays standing, Barriault will likely outwork Anders but may struggle to secure a knockout.
Possessing a good chin, Anders has been knocked out just once over his seven professional losses. While Barriault boasts a good amount of power, he could very well just rack up points while stuffing Anders’ takedown attempts en route to a decision victory.
Five of Anders’ seven professional losses are via decision, while three of Barriault’s past eight wins needed the judges’ input.
Pick: Barriault via Decision (+185 at BetRivers)
