Centre Court has been the playground of seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic. He's reached every Wimbledon finale since 2017, and my Novak Djokovic vs. Jannik Sinner predictions expect the former No. 1 to sneak past the Italian and his ailing right elbow.

I break it all down with a free pick for the Wimbledon semifinal matchup on Friday, July 11.

Sinner vs Djokovic prediction and best bet

Match analysis

Grass is the ultimate equalizer. It's turned the titans in the game into mere mortals, and mortals into Wimbledon legends.

Wimbledon made Novak Djokovic a legend, a seven-time champ. He’s defeated legend Roger Federer on these courts, and is 2-0 here against current World No. 1 Jannik Sinner.

Grigor Dimitrov took a 2-0 set lead before retiring by utilizing an assortment of spins, slices, and huge drives from both wings. If he provided the blueprint for beating Sinner on grass, Djokovic is the author.

Versatility plus grass is Sinner’s Kryptonite. The Italian’s hampered movement on grass is exposed by players using a variety of spins and placements that expose Sinner’s awkward movement on grass.

Djokovic is the master at exposing awkward movement, and grass is his equalizer. His variety and experience have proven too much for the Italian in the past, and he’ll frustrate Sinner enough to win on Friday.

Best best analysis

Jannik Sinner didn’t come here to lose. Especially after having the French Open title on his racket twice in a brutal five-set loss to Carlos Alcaraz.

Sinner likely planned on facing Djokovic in this semifinal match. What he didn’t plan on was taking an opening game tumble against Dimitrov that forced an MRI and a subsequent heavily wrapped right elbow.

He didn’t look bothered much by the elbow in his straight-set triumph over Ben Shelton. Shelton had his moments, but didn’t challenge Sinner’s service game or his movement the way Joker can.

The Italian’s cape is his service game. He’s wielded it successfully enough to thwart Djokovic four straight times, but Dimitrov broke Sinner’s serve twice before a fourth-round retirement with his variety and placement — and so will Novak.

Sinner wins an average of 61% of his first serves and 64% of points from his second serves at Wimbledon. That inconsistency and his sore elbow face a serious test by arguably the sport’s greatest receiver.

Joker’s broken serve 31 times here. I expect him to attack Sinner’s second serves relentlessly and ride a service game producing 68 Wimbledon aces to the finish line.
